I don't typically like GMMTV series, so I'm hesitant to watch this one. Is this any good? Like no teacher-student relationships, no "i'm not gay/bi/ect I just love X" bs, no straight side-romances or stuff like that?

Li Cheng annoys the crap outta me, I just can't stand his personality or his social positions. Honestly I ship Mu Ren with Xing Si. I know its a ghost ship. I really don't like the writer either, History Series lost their BEST writer and its just not the same anymore.

Ahh yes I had a guy friend like that in high school, he would often say "lesbians are hot but two guys going at it is disgusting". Basically the same exact thing you are talking about. I was in the closet at the time so I just uncomfortably chuckled - looking back I feel bad about doing that. So I completely agree with you there.
Ooo same here I love expanding my knowledge and understanding! Sounds cliche but I really do! It helps to prevent cross-cultural misunderstandings if you learn about a people and how they are culturally, socially, ect so talking with people from other nations is often fun and a benefit.

Its not about feeling safe, its about countering self-righteousness and erasure of descriptive variety/diversity. We are not all the same, similar sometimes, but we are all different. Normal is kinda boring imo, weird is interesting. I'm gay, mixed race, and an atheist (all of these are labels btw). I'm hardly considered NORMAL by the vastly straight, mono-racial and religious world. Nice assumption human but you missed the mark. Abnormality isn't a pejorative. Just because something is normal doesn't make it good and just because something is abnormal doesn't make it bad. Normal just means average, what is typical, usually the case, the majority. It has nothing to do with attributing morality to it, humans do that on their own . Blue eyes are abnormal, does that mean blue-eyed people are bad? Of course not! It doesn't make them good either. Blue eyes is just a description that helps me better understand their appearance. Same with sexuality, helps me to know if I'm gonna get a punch to the face when trying to interact with guys in a romantic way when single. Granted this is a show and I'm playing semantics but not ALL labels are unnecessary lol.

I do think there is crossover with BL and the gay+ community though. I'm a gay guy, I'm attracted to BL because in my country (USA ) surprisingly there isn't a lot (hardly any) LGBT+ content. In fact I didn't even know they made shows about gay+ relationships until about 5 years ago. So maybe other LGBT+ are drawn to it for a similar reason? Perhaps they also live in a nation that doesn't have much of that content or worse where its illegal. Anyways BL has definitely gotten more inclusive over the years and its a shame some people only focus on the negatives. I complain about the negatives too but the good has to be pointed out. When I first started watching BL, nothing made my heart flutter more (other than my BF :P). It was amazing to finally enjoy entertainment that albeit at the time was not as inclusive kinda represent something I could relate to. BL doesn't have to change for me, I like that its naturally expanding to include people like me :)

I like labels, I just don't like labels being used to hurt people. But to describe things? To relate to things? To better understand things? Labels are amazing! We label everything! The stars, the plants, the animals, and ourselves. Names are labels, groups are labels - gender, sexuality, sex, race, religion, ethnicity, capital cities, rivers on a map, brands at a store, articles of clothing, everything everything everything has a label and if not... we delightful humans give it one! Humans love labels, just don't use them to "other" or hurt one another imo. Judge a person based on their actions, not their labels sure, but without labels how would I trace my ancestors? How would I address my family individually? Ooops I called them a family, that's a label hehe! Okay okay I play, but seriously being anti-label doesn't make sense to me... now being anti-discriminatory based on labels, that's something else and I understand that.

Well to be fair you are like me in that your are generally on the offensive. You come out swinging with your words because the passion right? Happens to me so often. I know this is old by now but reading threw this you did seem angry, like gay people are trying to take something away from you. I might be wrong but that was my impression. Truth is, no one is taking anything. Fujoshis aren't stealing our identity/sexuality and we aren't stealing BL. Evolution is just bringing us together.

Personally I always find the "i'm not gay, I just like you!" line to be insulting and cringe. I don't speak for all gay people or others of LGBPA+, just for my own gay self lol! I grew up with a lot of homophobia so maybe I'm more sensitive to that kind of dialog but I don't like it. Most of these guys in BL appear to be bisexual (by that I mean the characters not the actors) so maybe they aren't gay, but they aren't straight either. I wish they weren't so ambiguous because it seems gutless or lazy.

Yeah and humans weren't originally intended to go into space. Times change, things change. BL conservatives aren't gonna win in the long run because more and more BL is becoming representative at least to the degree they actually identify with a sexuality. Right now it's just straight and gay, bi also but goes unmentioned and pan / asexual doesn't seem to exist much yet in BL. BUT its changing from what it used to be, a bunch of "straight" guys doing non-straight things.

I KNOW! I thought we were passed this BS. This writer is taking BL back 10 years. An exaggeration but you know what I mean lol :P

And just when I was starting to like this... oh my that last line did NOT sit well with me.

I here for Tri and the twins, they are just too adorable! I am not usually a person who likes polyamory in relationships but this is one I think I can get behind because it seems like it could work out.

Well I admit its getting better as it goes on. Those first few episodes really didn't not sit well with me but its a lot better, the over the top acting is quieted down and now I can see they are actually good actors so I like that. Eh okay not as bad and getting better so far.

LMAO I get that way so I totally understand, I'm used to YouTube comments and chat afterall and that's a dumpster fire most of the time lmao! So I get into the mud from time to time but it is something I'm really trying to work on. Nah I shame no one for liking this otherwise I'd have to shame my own BF lol! No I can see how people really liked it, not my bag of tea :P but hey I really enjoyed the music, acting and cinematography. Also, even if I didn't like the story much, I'm glad it did well because I love Earth and I want him to get more work lol! The acting was damn good all around.

I specified people who SHUN, not people who simply aren't into it. Shun - persistently avoid, ignore, or reject (someone or something) through antipathy or caution. In THIS context, I used shun to describe someone who actively attacks, disparages or otherwise SHAMES intimacy - not those who simply don't partake. I know asexual people exist. So I wasn't trying to be as generalized as it came off.

You angry - I never said I HATED this series. You can dislike a thing without hating it. All I'm saying is if you watch a certain GENRE, most people expect a certain level of dedication to said GENRE so it fits that GENRE. I watch sitcoms, I expect comedy. Doesn't mean I'll LIKE their style, but its expected to be there. I'm not saying this is a bad series at all, I just didn't personally enjoy it. I didn't even rate it because my BF loves it and I like Earth so I'm glad it did well, so I don't want to give it a low rating but I can't give it a high one either. Also I still watched this all the way through, so it's not like I watched a couple eps and then formed an opinion.

Well thank you :) I do get passionate and come off as either "angry" or sometimes (although I've really tried to be better) get into stupid arguments and take things too personally because I'm used to YouTube comment sections lol. Keep forgetting the community here is a bit better so I don't need to be on the defensive so much. Anyways I did love the music in this series, acting is top-notch and I adore Earth so I AM glad this did well. I see some people complaining about the rating - meh no I'm glad it did well even if I didn't like it because my BF loved it, I like Earth and it was well made - just not my kind of story is all.
