Guyss I love this couple so much! They are such a green flag couple, there's no miscommunications or misunderstandings (so far). I love how protective Fugui is of Qing Tong. Like what Rumu said, Fugui will cherish whatever friendships/relationships he has because he doesn't have many in the first place. For characters like Fugui, I think that when he loves someone, he really loves them very very deeply. I am looking forward to more Fugui x Qingtong scenes 🥺

I am also so impressed with Qing Tong's character so far. Let's be real, how many of us in her situation can do what she did? Despite being a weak spider demon and being threatened with her brother's life, she found a way where she can save her brother and also save Fugui. She poisoned herself too and lied to Madam Yin?! And then she was so adamant on going to Fugui even when she was heavily poisoned and with the Wangquan family disciples surrounded her. I don't know if I can even do that. She represents that even "weak" and "adorable" characters can also be strong in their own way.

On a side note, I'm actually scared that Qing Tong's brother will turn out bad...

Truthfully in my opinion, watching Love in Pavilion will definitely help your understand the situation in SaB better. There are flashbacks of LiP in SaB but I think it's not sufficient to understand what really happened.

I watched LiP and now I am able to make a lot of connections as to what is going on in SaB. For example, what is up with Wangquan Hongye (the dad), why is Fugui's mother refered to as a concubine, what's going on with Yiqi alliance etc.

It depends on how well you are able to enjoy and understand SaB with or without watching LiP. It's up to your personal preference! Some people prefer to just watch SaB without LiP and just rely on the flashbacks.

That is true! The manhua is mostly focused on modern time so there's not much about the past. We shall see in the drama :)

I'm not sure what you mean. Manhua (漫画) is basically Chinese manga/comics. Are you misunderstanding it with "Danmei" or am I misunderstanding your question?

Actually, the name for Sword and Beloved 狐妖小红娘：王权篇 changed to 天地剑心 (completely eliminating Fox Spirit Matchmaker in the Chinese title) is because fans begged WYX. Due to the previous two series not doing that well in China (LiP was decent but donghua fans did not like that they added too many extra lovelines and time travel), fans were afraid that donghua fans would hate the changes made to Sword and Beloved. So the title change has nothing to do with the ending actually。

I am prepared...when that time comes, let us all curse at the dad 😭😭 (if they are following the donghua)

Yes I also agree that WYX did well on this! Wumu is a very popular character and I cried so much for him in the donghua. With the difference in names, I can at least treat them as separate entities haha like donghua Wumu and drama Rumu (both I adore)

Did anyone else picked up on the subtle jealousy scenes or am I thinking too much?? Fugui got a little jealous when that Piao Piao dude said Qingtong's red dress looks pretty. I'm loving those subtle scenes so much! 😍😊

Ohh that's interesting!! Because as far as I know, Wumu/Rumu's character couldn't develop a loveline in the donghua.

No worries, I totally understand you! If you do have time to spare, you can give LiP a second chance! It has its flaws but there are also a lot of interesting and fun (also depressing) scenes later on! The cast also makes it enjoyable!

Chang Huasen and Zhang Kaiying characters are a couple according to the manhua! Not sure if there'll be additional secondary couples in this adaptation.

Hahaha I actually do agree with you for most part, but for this specific drama, I actually think a redemption arc would be good. I'm not sure if you watched Love in Pavilion, but Wangquan Hongye's character is quite complex. He was brought up in the very prestigious Wangquan clan but lost his father (the clan head) early on. Many elders and bad people in Wangquan clan tried destroying him and his sister, so Hongye grew up scheming and calculative, but at the same time he has a kind heart. Unfortunately, that kind heart became his weakness and he experienced a massive and painful tragedy leading to the current situation now...Not only that, but he saw the future of the world (in LiP) too which made him all the more the way he is to Fugui.

Dongfang Huaizhu was indeed married to Wangquan Hongye as a concubine. In LiP, at that time, because Hongye just experienced a massive tragedy, he was lifeless, depressed, and in bed all day. Dongfang clan was being attacked internally by Jin Renfeng (Dongfang clan's disciple) and Huaizhu was injured. Upon hearing the news, Hongye did as best as he could to rush to save Huaizhu. The ONLY way that he could save Huaizhu and bring her away from Jin Renfeng as fast as possible was to marry her as a concubine. Back in those days, for clans as prestigious as Wangquan and Dongfang, a marriage proposal for the wife needs to be grand and requires weeks of preparation. Wangquan clan and Hongye did not have any other ways because (1) Hongye lost his sword heart from that tragedy and weakened a lot, and (2) Jin Renfeng became too powerful. Hongye could only borrow his Wangquan's clan power/reputation in order to make an agreement with Jin Renfeng. This is why to the outside world, everyone (even Fugui himself) thought that there was no love between Huaizhu and Hongye.

Err they changed some stuff from the donghua and between Sword and Beloved and Love in Pavilion. Short answer is Qingtong (FL) is not their daughter, she is merely a weak spider demon turned spy that is working for Madam Yin (aka Du Niang Zi from LiP).

I don't why they changed her name from Du Niang Zi (meaning poison lady) to Madam Yin here or maybe the drama adapted it to be two different characters.

Unfortunately, Hero Legends may not be able to air. The last I heard were some issues with either the copyright, licensing, or some issues with minor actors (not too sure about that). Many fans are also waiting for Hero Legends. I would say HL is literally filmed during Cheng Yi's prime. He gave in so much for that show, even sustaining life-time injuries (his back). But fortunately, Vendetta of An is rumoured to air end of this year or early next year!
