So far, the promotion has been tanked by Cheng Yi alone, with some other actors of support characters (e.g. Xiao brothers, Tang Rou and another of XQS's sword brother). Li Kaixin I can understand why she is not active, she still needs to lay low because of the incident (even though it has been resolved). But what about Gulinezha, Xu Zhenxuan, or even Liu Mengrui? 🤔 Instead on Hello Saturday, the minor character bad Tang Clan girl promoted the show alongside with Cheng Yi and Crazy Yan.

I kind of questioned her motives too. XQS even asked her to pass on a message to LSF and Li Chen Zhou. She could've warned LSF about XQS's new power, but she chose to lie. Is it out of gratitude or is it because she was afraid LSF will be pissed at her and not let her work under him anymore? I'm not sure...

Just watched ep 21 and 22! I have to say I am eating up all of Li Chenzhou and Chen Shirong's appearances. Chen Shirong is so beautiful and graceful. Li Chen Zhou is also sooo graceful and elegant 🤩

Am glad Xiao Qiushui is getting stronger. As a Wuxia fan, it's quite funny to see how those powerups, it's really quite a true Wuxia. Excited to see more of his growth!

Please read my comment carefully. I did not say it's low budget, I just said that the production does not reflect it being S+ budget standard. Do read my other reply as well on why I think that way. However, I am NOT being a hater of this drama. I love CY and this drama and has made many comments supporting this drama. I'm just sharing an objective viewpoint. Because when some people think of S+ budget, they think of beautiful aesthetics like Love Between Fairy & Devil, My Journey to You etc.

Of course, aesthetics doesn't = high budget. But I'm sharing why some people may feel that way. Also, I know that there are indeed malicious haters purposefully attacking the drama, but I'm talking about why some normal people may think it's not a S+ budget drama.

Oh don't worry, I'm not offended. I love this drama, but I'm really sad that the production don't look as good as what it's supposed to be (S+). Costumes do look quite decent, but I feel like the editing/post-production is lacking. Nowadays, viewers are attracted to aesthetic looking scenes and are quick to make judgements on whether a drama is good or not by looking at the background. Some of the backgrounds look quite fake/unappealing like the fight scene with Fu Tianyi.

Personally, I'm okay with because I like plot/characters more. But a lot of haters on Weibo are emphasising how bad the production is for a S+ drama. And although the costumes are decent, some people may find too bright/pastel-ish colours cheap, giving off the impression of cheap production.

Also, there were apparently 3 scenes where the script is seen and other scenes where the actors are wearing modern shoes. These were all spot by haters and the script topic has been trending (even until now) on Weibo to attack CY as being unprofessional. I even have a feeling this might be intentionally done by his company to sabotage him because it obviously looks like a practice shot not the actual shot that was edited in the drama.

I'm not a hater btw, I love this drama. But I gotta say the above may be the reasons why people think it's a "cheap" production. Nowadays, people love aesthetics more than plot.

Unfortunately, no. It's quite high budget but the production doesn't quite reflect it. I don't know where the money went to :/ The production did not even spent money on hiring a promotion company.

We have not actually seen him yet, but he has appeared in a flashback scene. He's the strongest person in Jianghu back then (and maybe even currently). He fought against the Bei Huang (enemies) before for the country. He possesses the Heartvoid Codex, a very powerful martial arts manual.

That's some great observations! Indeed, 2nd brother's expressions sometimes are kind of out of place. It feels like he is purposely acting like a fool and a "follower" who knows nothing so that noone suspects him. HMMMMM guess we'll see soon.

I'm sorry 😭 I'm not that active on MDL usually and actually I don't really know how things work here. I just wanted to give some supportive comments and discuss the plot (because the initial hate was so strong). But thank you for the reminder!

Hmm I do understand your point, but humans are not robots. There's no "standard normal" way to react. Different people will react differently in various situations, especially stressful, traumatising ones. Again, a traumatising situation is perceived differently by different people. Personally, my family doesn't use "fists" to settle issues, but I do understand that some do, so it might be a hard watch for people who do things differently.

My interpretation is that the novel is actually a parallel world (like multiverse). Xiao Qiushui and Xiao Mingming are the same soul/essence but in different worlds! I believe every character in the "novel" is real because it's actually just another world.

I just want to say that there are TWO types of people when tragedy befalls on them. You have Xiao Qiushui who blames himself for the tragedy (technically, he does have some reason to blame himself). If LSF wasn't trusted by him and brought into the Xiao Family, Old Madame Wu and the Hero Token may not have be found thaaat quickly, like Old Madame Wu was already preparing to depart. Anyways, the second type of person is Xiao Yiren, who blames everything and anything on others, but never himself. This dude is blind to his own shortcomings.

Honestly, if I put myself in this world, I feel like I'll belong to the first type. As viewers now, it's easy to see how ridiculous Xiao Yiren's behaviour is or maybe even how frustrating Xiao Qiushui's self-blame is, but I actually do understand them. At least Qiushui is picking himself back up! Different people have different ways of reacting to situations. I wonder if there's a third type 🤔

Yesss exactly!! I'm a more emotional person so I could really empathise with Qiushui. This drama isn't just some oh MC is OP and smacks down all the bad guys. This drama is really about righteousness and chivalry like you mentioned! It's to show us that in a world where power and benefit (cue the Power Gang) is more emphasised on, righteousness will still prevail (hopefully hahaha).

LSF did mention about the similarity in the earlier episodes! But for the reason why he isn't shocked may be because there's a saying in Jianghu that the Jianghu is so wide, you can meet all sorts of different people (even people that may look like each other).

Or who knows, maybe there's some connection?
