Twice his age? 10 year age gap is not twice his age...lol the ageism is really disturbing. And no she doesn't look that much older. She is meant to be a scientist with lots of worldly experience so its clear she is older than him by a few years. And Lots of drama with older FLs, if you look around. The Double, Go ahead, Fated Hearts... this is just from top of my head, there are many more.

I would recommend "General and I".... her acting is not very good there, but she looks really beautiful and strong chemistry with the ML played by Wallace Chung. Some of the strongest romance and passionate kisses in a drama. Wallace Chung always gives 110%. 2nd ML is also a hunk...good drama, but dragging for 60 episodes. Give it a try.

lol when was cdrama realistic.....? If they can jump from a cliff and survive like in 95% of the historical drama, they can also fight and kill very strong opponents with no actual war experience, just being a butcher....

No I haven’t watched it yet. I took a break from drama watching for a few months. But I did watch back to back long palace dramas just before - Ruyi royal love and Story of Yangxi palace. My family was complaining I spend too much time on my computer so I decided to stop and take a break. I’ll watch the 12 episodes later. Don’t have that pull anymore to watch them. But maybe if I rewatch the whole drama at some point, let’s see. Now this week, I started watching Pursuit of Jade, I want to know what the fuss is about lol… it’s good but I don’t understand the hype. Still in the middle of it though.

yes, the abuse is next level. I have seen few such Thai lakorns, they are full of such abusive storylines, at least the ones pre 2018, but cdrama usually stay away from such storyline.

Watch "Ruyi's royal love in the palace". Its about the same emperor and his harem, FL is Consort Xian (Ruyi). Wei Yinglou is a villain, but her name is Wei Yanwan. I enjoyed the drama, it is a bit sad towards the end but its realistic. I found many actresses are better looking in "Ruyi", even very good looking Eunuch Li Yu, and a doctor. The production is big budget, costumes are even more rich than in Yanxi drama. FL is more passive than Yinglou but intelligent and emotionally strong, mature lady. Its a very long, 87 episodes, but worth the watch.

Yeah I'm planning to watch Yanxi later, but Ruyi is so long, I'm still watching last 10 episodes. I do agree its bit boring here and there, but I like the FL. She is a strong character, I like that she doesn't go crazy and crying and loose her head even when faced with despair. She holds her head high and lets events happen as they should, she is a bit passive but thats because she is not a scheming lady. I think had they shortened the drama a bit it would have been better, 60 episodes is ideal for such a drama.

Both of those drama have ML who are my favourite so I watched them, and not fore her LMAO.... but she completely ruined Lovely Runner, I wish they had found another FL. I don't remember much of EY to even talk about. I guess it didn't make an impression on me since I don't remember it all.

I don't care she won awards... she don't deserve them. Horrible acting. The worst crap. Then everyone has different tastes, if you like overacting and silly little girl voices, then ok... but thats not my cup of tea. I will avoid her drama like the plague

I find it a bit boring and tedious at times, 87 episodes is a lot to go through. I'm still on ep 53. Now skipping a bit but its a quality drama so I don't want to skip too much. The acting, costumes and sets are just so good. There is always someone to hate, one villain dies or is subdued, and another one is born....lol The best thing I find is that its real history, so i keep going and reading up on this Emperor, his wives and children on Wikipedia. I haven't watched Story of Yanxi palace, but I'm looking forward to seeing Yanwan as FL and a different perpective on her.

I'm watching this drama and currently on ep 47.... its quite boring at times, too long for my liking. But in other news, do you guys realise the emperor's father is actually depicted as 4th Prince in Scarlet Heart? He is ML and has romance with 21st century girl Maerta Ruoxi, the FL, played by Liu ShiShi lol.... Of course Scarlet Heart is fiction. And it was my 1st Cdrama too

She studied, yet she still can't act... I only choose quality drama to watch with top actors, she ain't one of them. You want to watch a good drama, watch My Dearest. Now thats a top drama with very talented actors.

You can change your voice, more stomach breathing, not nasal speech -actors and singers train in this at drama school. Its not just the voice, its the way she speaks... intonation on the words, overly childish way of speaking and terrible acting... she needs acting and speech lessons.

Agreed. She has over the top acting, annoying voice. I couldn’t watch Lovely Runner because of her. People really don’t know what good acting looks like.
