I am planning to start this drama how is it? I see ratings is low. And drop out rates high after 12-13 ep

MDL is very romance dramas oriented. Non romance dramas tend to have lower notes. I recomend to not pay attention. If you like wuxia stories with good plot, it's for you.

i think they tried to give bai yu tang the innocence and character of Wei Ying ( Xiao zhan) …even the facial…

I believe his character existed before Wei Wu Xian was created. Also they are both typical of the wuxia genre heros, influenced by Jin Yong novels, like Yang Guo from Return of the Condor Heros and Linghu Chong of The Smiling Proud Wanderer.
