On Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Jan 1, 2022
Even though there are several big-name Asian series currently airing, none of them engage me; Bulgasal is by far my favorite drama right now, mainly because of the outstanding leads. My only complaint is that too often the cinematography is too dark for my glaucoma eyes; I’m asking too often, What just happened? Who is that in the water? Lol. I wish productions would consider that people with low vision are trying to watch, too.

One thing I didn't really understand about the plot is:- Caesar Wu goes to the banquet wearing the mask. When…
Totally agree, Ana M! And so much more doesn’t make sense that I can’t sort it out to explain it—just a feeling of somewhat random events strung together. Maybe I have seen too many of these, and they are all running together, lol. I even get the feeling the lead actors don’t totally believe their roles, as though their hearts are not in it. Maybe it’s just me.

The lack of plot logic in the last few episodes is driving me crazy. The FL has learned nothing since the beginning; she will run into her man’s battles and complicate things despite being told over and over that she only makes the fight more difficult for him. OTOH, I do enjoy the twin look of Caesar Wu and Li Hong Yi!

This drama rocks. I love all of the multi-layered characters, including the villains. The relationships among Song Bai Yu, his family, Wen Wan, and Lin Yuan Hao are especially poignant and ultimately heartbreaking. Most of all, watching the slowly warming relationship develop between Lin Yuan Hao and Lin Lan is a treat. I’m on episode 30 and guess the series ends tomorrow. I will miss it.
