There no real short answer for that. It's a series so makeup is inevitable. Filter? Well it's filming, lenses, editing and lightning so again no comment because it's hard to point out what's edited and what the usage of light and makeup.
(Googled up with actor with no makeup, after I read this comment btw) The actors natural face is also very warm and kind. Not fit for the character at all. He is handsome as hell, even more without makeup as he has a smile that's contagious and looks again, very kind.

The actors are under a newer company called The Dot House whether they are just an artist and talent management or also a production company, I do not know.

Okay hold up! Word of Honor, The Untamed and this are all gay stories. They're all based on gay novels. Due to the laws in China surrounding gay media these can't be actual love stories. Hence these series are more of a representation through the current laws of media.

The acting and production cannot be compared. Pond and Phuwin are by far better actors and they got an amazing crew directing Me And Thee, along with a script that makes sense and builds the characters. Even the camera work is noticeably better, surprisingly even the chemistry is better which personally surprised me.
