🤣🤣 I was disappointed in the ambiguous plotlines of ep 29 and 30, but I should know better. The writers inhaled that sparkly dust in the Otherworld Tombs.

Zhang Qi Shan could have a future drama or film career as a superhero avenging crimefighter, but the Japanese enemy is a tired theme.

When Grandson Wu Xie closed the book on Nine Gates/Mystic Nine, it signified no more Mystic Nine TV seasons. 😁

Episode 29 and 30 was one big, convoluted yarn. There is a fine line between delusion and reality. Did the writers delude the viewers? At the conclusion of the drama, the assumption is that Zhang Qi Shan, Wu Lao Gou, Huo Xiang Gu, and Hong Er Ye are alive. I am glad this was only thirty episodes, because the writers would have added more plot filler.

When Wu Xie closed his grandfather's book, it signified the end of the Mystic Nine drama saga.

I don't trust Lou Ang. He is manipulative under that congenial smile and uniform. My heart breaks for Zhang Xiao Yu. He fought valiantly, and slew the weasel Huo Wen Hai. One of the best scenes in the drama!

Episode 26 was actually refreshing after the dark days in the tombs.

Er Ye had his spurt of heroism, along with Chen Pi, in episode 27 (edited). They were taken down because Ya Tou (...dead in coffin) distracted them. She just couldn't keep away. So glad that the writers didn't bring her back as a ghost.

The attraction for this drama is William Chan and Joseph Zeng.

It looked like a trick to me, but what doubles did Fo Ye use for the stunt?

I thought the same thing. The director could have added more action stunts. Many of his men could have survived.

He reminds me of Lt Zhang (Season 1), in some of his scenes. He looks like he could be Lt Zhang's younger brother.

Episode 26 was riveting. Fo Ye was too gentle with Hatoyama Yoshishi. He should have been dinner for the monsters. I feel sorry for Old Master Ge Shi and Woman. Does anyone know her name? She is too pretty. He went from charming to cruel. I am glad she killed him off. What a lunatic! A pity he never faced off with Hatoyama. They would make a good Delulu team.

I keep forgetting his name. HAHA! Wu Xie's name is much easier to remember. I started out knowing Joseph by his alias, Joseph Zeng. A few years later, I noticed his Chinese name, Zeng Shunxi. I connect the name when I see it, but I haven't been able to memorize it. I always call him Joseph.

I watched it ten years ago. I thought the character and Lt Zhang could make a good couple. 🥰

Did Peng Xiao Ran's character survive in Season 1? She was one of my favorite ladies.

In episode 25, the monster helped Wu Gao Lou to escape down the river. He tapped his nails on top of the chest, to signal to Gao Lou.
