This ep was ok, but not as good as ep4. I’m sorry, but why is the FL still acting and laughing like a wicked witch? I want to root for her, but as a heroine she needs to show some modesty. I also didn’t like that she revealed the fake marriage to the Prime Minister, it felt like she betrayed her agreement with the prince. And as for the ML, we already know he’s very handsome, but can we please also see more of his thoughts—what he suspects about his brother, nephew, or sister-in-law?

Ep 2 was much better, and the comedy really worked. I like both the ML and FL. The love triangle isn’t really necessary, but I guess it’s a trend in K-dramas right now—and it’ll probably take some time before it fades.

What I love about the car scene is that in the whole process, they didn't make hui ju that lead who is portrayed…
This obsession with making every FL being only“strong and independent” is, in my opinion, hurting K-dramas. Many FLs are written as so focused on their careers and self-sufficiency that the romance feels unbalanced as the ML often seems to love more deeply.
But romance is about emotional connection. What’s wrong with the ML saving the FL sometimes? Those moments can be beautiful and add to the magic, just like when she saves him. The best stories show them supporting each other, being loyal, devoted, and loving unconditionally. That’s the real charm of a great love story, not just a one-note “strong and independent” character.

I was a bit disappointed after the first three episodes, but episode 4 really got things back on track. I actually loved this one—the plot finally started to come together, and that ending was so awesome and exciting.

they did. she falls in love with new men. its weird
Well, in K-dramas it’s unusual to have so many boyfriends. I don’t watch them to see the leads changing love interests every season—I watch for a beautiful love story between one ML and one FL, and that’s it. And honestly, who watches K-dramas for realism? There’s nothing truly “real life” about any TV show anyway when it comes to that.

they cannot handle a strong FL!! if the ML had all her traits they would be all over him
She comes across as overly arrogant with everyone around her—I haven’t really seen her be genuinely kind to anyone so far. In episode 3, when she moved into his residence, her attitude toward the palace staff felt especially dismissive. That said, some FLs in Crash Landing on You, Queen of Tears, and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha started off similarly and became very likable later on. I’m hoping for the same here, especially since I like the actress.

I’m sure the ratings for this will be sky-high just because of the leads. They could’ve made a silent movie…
After three episodes, I agree about the writing. I was expecting something on the level of Queen of Tears, Crash Landing on You, or even Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha or King the Land, but instead it feels more like a parody. I’ll keep watching, but I’m definitely disappointed.

After episode 3, it still feels like the show is stuck in the setup phase, and something essential is missing. We need more plot, more tension between the leads—and honestly, I didn’t like how episode 3 ended. It felt too early and unearned, without enough emotional buildup. I’ll keep watching because I like both actors and they have so good chemistry between them, but the drama really needs to deepen. And the product placement is excessively it pulls me right out of the story. Those scenes feel forced and disconnected, breaking the overall magic. Honestly, how many times did we need to see those Crocs?

Wait, he dies?? I thought the novel ended with her giving up everything to be with him. If he dies, then they’ve clearly changed the original story. The novel’s ending would have been the only satisfying one, especially considering she had 22 lovers before. If he dies, he just becomes one of many—with more to follow. He is nothing special. Putting the 22 lovers aside, I started losing interest once he went into the void. The ML lost his charm after that. In the first 10 episodes he was such a badass and truly her equal, but after that he just felt like a pretty face.

I’ve just watched the first two episodes and enjoyed them so far. I really liked the ML. The FL is a bit annoying at the moment, she could use a little more modesty, but I’m hoping that will develop in the next episodes. I also really hope this isn’t one of those dramas where the ML loves her more. Please let it be a balanced romance where they love each other equally.

The way this show is still not out for me on disney + …. 😂(I know where else i can watch it it’s just annoying…
It’s not available on Disney in Romania either. I contacted them on their Romanian Facebook page, and they had the audacity to tell me to send feedback through the Disney Help Center. Why should we have to do that when they already hold the worldwide streaming rights? They should have respected all countries and all their subscribers from the start.

May Netflix feel regret for not taking this wonderful drama
It would have been huge.

Asian Disney+, not global... Big mistake for their part...
It seems it won’t be available on Disney+ in Romania. I really hate Disney right now 🤣 and MBC as well for selling them the streaming rights. I don’t understand Disney’s strategy for Romania. There’s clearly a strong market for K-dramas here as most of the ones on Netflix consistently make it into the Top 10.

I waited too see how it ends before starting it. I wouldn’t have watched it if it had ended a certain way. I binge watched it in three days without feeling the need to skip scenes. The ML was very charismatic and smart. I enjoyed both ML and FL and the storyline was engaging and interesting. We definitely need more shows like this. I’m a big fan of romantic thrillers.

tbh for 400yrs that's very little. Some 20yr olds now have a bigger body count than this lol
That means one every 18 years. She wasn’t loyal to anyone and seems to “fall in love” quite easily, so the ML ends up feeling like just another addition to her body count. I’ve put the show on hold because of this — the magic and romance are gone for me. I’ll wait for the finale to see if she gives up everything to be with the ML; otherwise, he’ll just become another body buried in the same place, one more among many she can easily visit, with more likely to follow.

tf is wrong with an A-list actress coming back after a 4 year hiatuas playing a sapphic role? do u understand…
Thanks for saving me from watching this. There’s no tag warning about it. I wanted to watch it for the ML, but I’d rather skip it now. I gave up Western shows because these themes were everywhere, in almost every series. And yes, it’s disappointing to see her, in her 50s, trying to stay relevant by taking on such a role. I’m also disappointed in the ML actor. I guess Korean actors aren’t that different from Western actors after all—willing to take on any agenda for the sake of money.

Then don't watch it. We're not in the 2000s anymore, rom-coms with 1-dimensional FLs characters aren't a trend…
Well, one-dimensional FL characters are actually one of the reasons K-dramas became popular worldwide. Bringing Western-style themes into K-dramas will only lead to their downfall.

What?? That’s far too many for my taste. If this is true he would only be truly special to her if she chose…
Well, they should have changed that in the series. In most adaptations, they change so many things, so they could have changed this too. 22 is just too many, especially with all of them buried in the same place. Creepy. It feels excessive and like too many lovers — just my personal taste 🙂. How does the novel end? Does she give up everything for him?

In episode 23, she said that over 400 years she had 22 lovers. Did she really mean it, or was she just saying…
What?? That’s far too many for my taste. If this is true he would only be truly special to her if she chose to give up her immortality to be with him. If the show ends with her loving him only for the duration of his life, then he’d just become one of many.

I was a bit disappointed that the younger couple didn’t get married at the beginning. The angst in the middle of the series would have been more compelling, and the stakes would have been much higher if they had already been married. It also would have brought something new to K-dramas—a happy, lifelong marriage starting in their early twenties. Instead, they chose the usual route most K-dramas take: possible marriage in their thirties.
