Does Ming Gi get a love interest in this drama, like a SFL? Is there even a SFL? I haven't started the show yet because I'm worried there might be a love triangle like in Dynamite Kiss. The second leads were so wasted in that drama, and I really don't want Ming Gi to end up the same way. At the same time, I don't want a love triangle like Our Universe, where the FL had feelings for both guys. I hated that aspect of the show. It was one of the reasons I didn't even watch Last Summer. To make things worse, I have to resort to piracy just to watch it because Disney keeps sticking to its ridiculous release policy, and the show isn't available in my country.
The FL's aversion towards marriage at the end was very convincing to me. She didn’t really have a good experience…
Well, isn’t that one of the reasons we watch K-dramas — to actually see the characters "get there" (marriage) on screen? Wasn’t that part of the charm of K-dramas? Watching them overcome obstacles, finally get married, and show unconditional love for each other in the final episode?
The FL's aversion towards marriage at the end was very convincing to me. She didn’t really have a good experience…
Shouldn’t love be unconditional when it’s supposed to be the love of your life? Because at no point during this show did I feel the FL had unconditional love for the ML. She kept putting up boundaries and keeping him at a distance, and that’s not what you do when you truly love someone. Honestly, I never felt like she genuinely loved him. When exactly were we supposed to see her love or tenderness toward him?
Her face only seemed to light up whenever she saw the SML — even during her father’s funerals. And in the flashbacks, she actually seemed warmer and more affectionate with the SML than she ever was with the ML. Meanwhile, she looked at the ML more like someone she found interesting or amusing — almost like a funny pet.
And regarding weddings and happy endings — that used to be part of the charm of K-dramas. It doesn’t have to be a huge wedding like King the Land (which was beautiful); it can be something smaller like Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and still feel just as satisfying.
A mediocre show with an equally mediocre ending. I just didn’t feel the romance at all. The FL didn’t seem to truly love the ML — she treated him more like a pet than a partner. The only person she seemed to have genuine feelings for was the SML. She showed more emotion around him, even during her father’s funeral.
The show started strong, but after ep 5 it really went downhill for me. No romance, no butterflies — just a pet ML and a robot FL.
I don’t know what’s happening with K-dramas lately, but it feels like they’re losing what made them special. There’s less romance, no weddings. Why can’t we get weddings anymore? Or maybe even children and those happy family moments?
disney+ snatching shows again! they don't even stream in my country
In Romania, it doesn’t show up in next week’s lineup either. I guess they still haven’t learned anything from Perfect Crown. They only released it here on May 20, and even though most of us had already watched it on other websites, it still became the #3 most watched show on Disney in Romania. They are losing viewers because they don’t bring romance dramas to Romania. They did the same with Would You Marry Me, In Your Radiant Season, and others. Instead, they keep pushing the Korean shows produced by them, which never make the top 10 here. Meanwhile, Netflix seems to understand the market much better. Sold Out On You and My Royal Nemesis are both in the top 10 here.
I guess we won’t be getting it on Disney. They clearly haven’t learned anything from Perfect Crown. They only released it in my country on May 20, and it still reached the top 3 even though most of us had already watched it on pirate sites. They’re losing a lot of viewers in my country because they refuse to bring the romance dramas they buy from Korean channels.
My final review before moving on: They should honestly change the poster because it’s completely misleading. The drama doesn’t portray a prince and princess—or a future king and queen—ready to lead the country together. Instead, the ML is a coward who ran away from the responsibility of ruling the country, while the FL feels like a bitchy rich girl obsessed with her company and making money. Sorry to say this, but her family felt far more human and emotionally genuine than she did. And after a three-year time skip, we still didn’t even get a proper “I love you” scene. Instead, we got a ML who is nothing more than a pretty boy and a FL who barely seemed interested in spending time with her husband, choosing work over him constantly. She left him alone at home, told him to go to bed without her, and didn’t even care enough to make it on time for the museum visit with him. What a disappointment. I’ll give the drama a 7.5 because the visuals and the leads’ looks were pretty entertaining, but the story and romance were seriously underwhelming. In the end, it felt less like a love story between the leads and more like a romance between the FL and her CEO job.,
I really didn’t like the ending. It felt like she was more in love with her job than with him. Instead of getting beautiful romantic moments between them after those three years, we kept seeing her come home late because of work. She even told him to go to bed without her. It was honestly such a disappointment. So once again, we get a drama where the FL’s career takes center stage, and the real love story ends up being between the FL and her job. I’m honestly getting tired of this trend. I watch romance dramas to see love, happiness, marriage, babies, and all those warm feel-good moments. Lately, it feels like the K-drama industry is far more interested in focusing on the FL’s career than on the romance itself.
I haven’t watched ep 11 and 12 yet, but from what I’ve read, they abolished the monarchy and there’s no baby. In the end, this just seems like another drama focused on the FL’s career. Honestly, I’m getting really tired of career-centered FL storylines in dramas. Give us a beautiful, butterflies-inducing romance instead.
Sorry to say this, but we’re already at ep 10 and there still hasn’t been a single truly memorable, emotional, magical, butterflies inducing scene between the ML and FL. The rewatch value of this drama is almost zero. It took forever for the FL to realize she loves him, and now she wants to leave without even telling him how she feels. And she still runs to the Prime Minister for help 😡 even after her husband clearly showed how uncomfortable he was with that relationship when he asked her to stop calling him “oppa.” The only positive thing is that, after acting horribly for nine episodes, we’re finally seeing a bit of humility and genuine concern for others from her.
It just shows how people are different cause for me the kiss in ep 1, even though unwanted from the ML's perspective,…
I didn't see it as unwanted. The way the scene was presented made it seem like he had an ex-with-benefits type of relationship with that woman and that was the moment when he decided to finally end it. Also, seeing him kiss someone else without even trying to push her away took away the magic of the kdrama. It makes the first kiss with the FL feel less special. That’s exactly why I watch kdramas in the first place—to see those beautiful, fairytale-like love stories.
Funny show and it has potential to be really good. I just hated that kiss scene 😂. It really wasn’t necessary to cross that line—it takes away the charm of the kdrama. The leads shouldn’t be kissing other people on screen. Having exes is fine, but actually showing them kissing? No, no, no. I almost dropped it, but I’ll keep watching because I like the actors and their chemistry.
I love all the ingredients of this drama but does anybody else feel like it just isn't delivering the juice? Like…
You’re right, it’s just not hitting. Something’s missing. I don’t feel the butterflies, and I’m not getting the emotion, love, or tension between them. Even the kiss felt flat, more like mere physical contact than anything meaningful. We’re already at ep 6 and the FL still calls the Prime Minister “oppa,” and even says she’d rather trust him than the prince? Also, they keep framing scenes just to show how good-looking the leads are—we get it. But where’s the substance? The ML mostly just stands there and laughs, while the FL comes off arrogant and overly dramatic in her gestures and behavior. The ratings didn’t spike for ep 6 either—they stayed flat, which says a lot. People are starting to notice the lack of depth. I was expecting something on the level of Crash Landing on You or Queen of Tears, but this isn’t it. This year, surprisingly, Yumi's Cells (season 3) grabbed me right away—I felt the tension and butterflies from ep 1, even though I hadn’t seen seasons 1 and 2. And In Your Radiant Season and Phantom Lawyer were solid too.
Why does she need to have modesty? She didnt reveal it, he overheard it.
Well, she shouldn’t have clarified anything with the Prime Minister—she should have denied it and then warned the prince that the Prime Minister suspects they’re not truly in love. As for her character, a strong heroine still needs some modesty and humility; otherwise she just comes across as a spoiled rich girl chasing power and money. And honestly, so far I haven’t seen any truly selfless act from her—the moment with the child in the car isn’t enough to prove she’s more than someone driven by ambition and wealth.
This ep was ok, but not as good as ep4. I’m sorry, but why is the FL still acting and laughing like a wicked witch? I want to root for her, but as a heroine she needs to show some modesty. I also didn’t like that she revealed the fake marriage to the Prime Minister, it felt like she betrayed her agreement with the prince. And as for the ML, we already know he’s very handsome, but can we please also see more of his thoughts—what he suspects about his brother, nephew, or sister-in-law?
Ep 2 was much better, and the comedy really worked. I like both the ML and FL. The love triangle isn’t really necessary, but I guess it’s a trend in K-dramas right now—and it’ll probably take some time before it fades.
What I love about the car scene is that in the whole process, they didn't make hui ju that lead who is portrayed…
This obsession with making every FL being only“strong and independent” is, in my opinion, hurting K-dramas. Many FLs are written as so focused on their careers and self-sufficiency that the romance feels unbalanced as the ML often seems to love more deeply. But romance is about emotional connection. What’s wrong with the ML saving the FL sometimes? Those moments can be beautiful and add to the magic, just like when she saves him. The best stories show them supporting each other, being loyal, devoted, and loving unconditionally. That’s the real charm of a great love story, not just a one-note “strong and independent” character.
I was a bit disappointed after the first three episodes, but episode 4 really got things back on track. I actually loved this one—the plot finally started to come together, and that ending was so awesome and exciting.
