Just finished reading the novel, and have to say ZWY is really ideal for this sort of role. Hope they can wrap up this first part in Lingquan soon as there's tons of entertaining stuff ahead.
Zhang Ling He seems to do well in this type of role, appearance cold aloof, but yet there is a petty and playful…
Also not feeling the chemistry between them. It's strange cos I would have thought they would be a super pairing, but something not quite clicking yet.
CX is hilarious..The way he complains about Jing to Great Emperor and Fenglong but they in turn praising Jing..Also…
And CX forgets that he didn't protect her either when she needed it the most. Plus all those times he injured her, broke her legs etc...........in the end, arguably XY has suffered more through her relationship with him than with TSJ or XL.
This drama having more ratings than the actual good stuff is bizarre. Brainless horny teens must not be allowed…
Umm why do you even take the MDL ratings to heart? Actually a lot of movies, esp arthouse type movies get relatively low ratings on MDL.
I loved LR cos I thought the chemistry was great and it always left me with a goofy smile watching them. Does this mean that it is on the same level as Parasite or Zhang Yimou, Wong Kar Wai films? It's apples and oranges - they all bring different things into my life and I enjoy them all.
Put the ratings into context. If you think the ratings here are not objective, then look elsewhere for example at time.com: Lovely Runner's Finale Makes It the Year's Best K-Drama https://time.com/6983798/lovely-runner-ending-explained/
Yes, as much as he claims to love XY, he will also not hesitate to do the most hurtful things to her. Grandad is right, he needs to curb his control freak tendencies.
So many people here are entirely missing the point of Jings character and their specific love. What a shame. And…
This be true. I can understand the author's intentions - she wanted to create a character that would act as a stark counterpoint to the other men in XY's life who have other worldly ambitions or loyalties. Given XY's PTSD and abandonment issues, it's completely understandable that she will gravitate to someone like TSJ whose heart is only big enough to contain her and not the world.
It's wrong to say that TSJ has no personality. In fact, the author wanted to portray a man that would not repay violence with violence and take an eye for an eye. This can also be seen as a strength. But this characterisation is really hard to pull off, and I do wonder if another actor would be able to tread this fine line a little better. When I watched Yan Lin in SOKP, it did occur to me that here was the type of noble strength that should shine out from TSJ. And I also have been wondering how someone like Luo Yun Xi would play this. I think we also do not get to see TSJ showing how effective he is in the world of business and as a clan leader. We only get to see him seemingly paralysed in the face of family ties and affections. But if he is really the chosen one with nine tails etc, then they ought to try to convince us more of his qualities, and he is shortchanged in this.
The people around Huaiyang Wang are really pulling out all the stops making up stories about him and his “inadequacies” 🤣
