Shades of SOKP, but tone for now at least seems less dark and sinister. Happy to see ZLH tackling a somewhat more playful/petty/normal character after doing red flag Xie Wei so well. I really miss his voice though.

If you're into costume cdramas, there is the sublime Word of Honor, a BL wuxia cdrama which has chemistry between the 2 leads brimming over and a HE. Another costume cdrama, The Double has just finished airing. A revenge drama with a very hot ML and a very satisfying ending for the MC. But nothing like the warm, soul comforting feeling one gets from Lovely Runner. And rightly so because it's only once in a while that fate aligns and such gems emerge.

Should be. The only part that remains watchable for me in that drama is the fight scene in ep 2. Think he injured his leg on the set and they had to forego filming some of the fight scenes. So sad, cos his weapon was a fan, my fave wuxia weapon. Apparently he's never fully recovered from that injury.

Agree re hairstyle. Long flowing hair suits his face shape better I think. But beyond looks, LYX is just a joy to watch cos of his expressions and his gracefulness in wuxia moves. Paleness/whiteness already so much more toned down compared to TTEOTM where they made him look like he could be in the Ancient Chinese version of Twilight. Not sure why everyone is zeroing in on the voices too - these are their own voices which both leads have been using in all/most of their dramas, while some big names are still being dubbed till this day.

Oh yes, and if one needs convincing about him being a viable romantic ML - just watch the kissing scene in Love is Sweet 💯🔥

Yes, and I'm just enjoying watching him in a more mundane jianghu setting without all the high xianxia angst. With his ballet background, it's always a joy to see him doing wuxia moves. Although sadly it seems he was also injured while filming this drama.

I thought I saw in the preview that something happened to his nose? So one is "blind" and the other can't smell 😃. But at least he has a valid reason to sleep with mask. Consider how we're always watching all of them sleep in full costume and with their hair coiffured to the max with crowns and all.............just let them sleep in PJs for once!

While nothing can currently touch LR in terms of addictiveness, Miss Night and Day is quite watchable mainly cos I'm interested in what they are trying to say about ageism in Asian societies which are currently facing super-aging.

Definitely giving off slick hidden mastermind vibes.

I think one of the best things about this drama is the way it showcases the older gen of k actors. Love Lee Jung Eun's portrayal. With quite a few Asian societies facing super-aging in the next 10 years, ageism and attitudes towards growing old is a totally current and critical topic.

No point asking all these questions, characters in cdramas are always running around the jianghu with numerous changes of clothes magically packed into the teeniest sling sack - stretching willing suspension of disbelief to the breaking point 🤣

I think it's a very interesting pairing. Song Yi is no lightweight as amply proven in JOL and her other dramas, and as long as the script/plot doesn't go off the rails and destroy the lighthearted romcom vibe, I have high hopes for an entertaining drama.
