I feel the same way. I honestly have no idea either, but seeing Chinese xk fans raising concerns on his behalf is making me worried too. They usually have more access to updates or insider info than international fans like us, so there might be some truth to what they’re saying. I just hope the production is going smoothly and that Xu Kai gets the screen time and story arc he deserves, especially since he’s the male lead. Let’s hope they stay true to the novel while also giving him enough focus!.

I first saw it on the Yi Ou Chun MDL page, so I searched the drama on Weibo. Xu Kai fans have been raising concerns saying there’s less than a month left but his personal storyline (especially court and war scenes) hasn’t started filming. They also mentioned scheduling issues, vague screentime, and last-minute scene changes. So yeah, there seem to be some real problems behind the scenes. I’m not sure what’s really going on either, that’s why I came here to check.

According to novel readers, the male lead’s storyline especially the war-related parts hasn’t even started filming yet. But there’s reportedly less than a month left until filming wraps up. Also, I’ve seen way more behind the scene photos of the female lead with the second male lead than with the actual male lead. Honestly, I have no idea what’s going on I’m just as clueless.
The current rating really doesn’t do justice to how good this drama is. The mystery and slow-burn romance in this drama are so well done. I find myself eagerly waiting for each new episode.
