I understand the need for product ads to finance the shows, I really do. My complaint is that Gmmtv shows are getting ridiculous with the amount they’re serving per episode. I think it hurts the story and I don’t want to just get used to it. But that’s okay because I have other options of shows I can watch that don’t force feed advertisements ad nauseam.

My complaint is not with Thai BLs, or any BLs in general that use product placements as a means to fund their show. I just think GMMTV has gotten too complacent with expecting their viewers to accept this beyond the bounds and confines of good storytelling, that’s what irks me to no end.

The multiple, interspersed ads every episode that lend absolutely nothing to the actual story and plot other than promoting a product, they are still part of the actual show, yes? Really though? That’s the objective? To sell me something? Because there are other shows I can watch that want to only “sell” me their story. Again though, that’s on me, I shouldn’t complain about the ride when I stood in line and knew what I was getting on. I’m just venting frustration for wasting my time when I didn't need to. Please Don’t drink the kool aid! Sorry, no. “Well placed” commercialism is just a way to make you buy into it even more. But since you know where to buy the pants, you already know that. I’m an ass though and this is rude of me, it’s on me. I’m just tired of the constant ads and always trying to be sold something, maybe you’ll get there one day too, maybe not. I would be just fine with the whole soy milk scenario if there didn’t have to be a product facing placement during a scene that gave nothing to the overall story to tell me something I didn’t already know.

If it is still really necessary for this huge powerhouse to need the advertisement only scenes to survive, then I apologize, but that is not the probable narrative. You’re not telling the best BL stories around anymore, so I can do without your constant spam commercialism.
The thing about JBLs is they hook you so good in the beginning that oftentimes you don’t even know how to feel by the end. The promising premise is so good that the execution, even when it falls flat, can still leave you with those feels. I’ve got some high hopes for this one, and also hoping it doesn’t drag out any angst unnecessarily.
How does this keep getting better and better? It could so easily be written off as silly, but somehow they’re just doing it right. I am completely hooked and dangling for more. It must be said for the ML & FL though, they are totally and convincingly selling the swap.

You’re completely right, but not always what you see is what you get. You can’t pry only surface level, bullies suck, but why say once a bully, only a bully? If you pigeonhole anyone you have to also expect the surprise. This is a kdrama after all, when is anything ever all that is seems?
I love this, even though I am completely not behind the trope that an idol stalks their fan, this is not something I ever think should be a thing, but the context behind the narrative of this show has me hooked, and guiltily so. Stalking is a complete and total no no, but the idea of loving, appreciating, and supporting someone from afar is a just a yes, at least in my book.
I have complicated feelings for the toxic notion the role reversal of this show presents, but also understand that adoring idols from their desired distance is just good manners. Attorney Maeng has become the legal idol that La Ik needs, regardless of all else, they compliment each other in a way that they currently require, they represent more to each other than idol and fan because they are both and the same.
I am completely sat for this. At the end of the last episode I was all like this is so awesome, if they let Do Wol find out Eun Jo is actually the thief Gil Dong that he has been searching for, like that would be the perfect “at last” moment that could have been drug out but came at the early but exactly right time… but then they body swap?! Wiggity what?! That’s so unexpectedly fabulous and I am so glad I never read the tags to this show, and still haven’t. I love the unexpected and this has got me now glued to my seat in anticipation.
I definitely recommend, but you also have to be prepared for a legal drama, which it very much is.
