Why the acting is so weird in the starting itself, I guess high school dramas are really not for me... Does it get better? 30 mins into the 1st episode and it bored me to death

I just completed watching Journey with you (2026). It was almost like improvised version of this drama. Won't lie, loved the NC scenes and acting of the cast in Journey with you more. However the plot of kill to love was better but poorly executed.

I think in 2024 or 2025 another historical BL was released, almost exact same story, the ending was kinda sad but not bad, I think its based on same novel but can't find it anywhere
