Ikr! no need for the last arc...it seemed totally unnecessary.
From the looks of it, they're going to change a lot of things from the novel

once the main war ended, then it became even more boring with all the jealousy drama in Chaoyang city... I literalllly had to skip chapters towards the end

the more they delay this, the more time it is for some other drama to line up
