Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is one of my favorite dramas and I've watched it numerous times, but not once when I watched Meet Yourself did I think it plagiarized Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. These shows have two different vibes. Both are categorized as slice-of-life healing dramas but both variations of that take are different.
Just from my observation, I do think it hurts the ML just a bit when he sees GSJ and his brother constantly having each other's back. He no longer has that brotherly support and he's reminded of it every time GSJ and his brother stand up for each other.
Obviously I'm in the minority but I didn't mind Xiu Ming's screen time since I felt it was used to wrap up what…
I didn't like him at first but he redeemed himself in the last quarter of episodes especially after we saw what happened in the past. He truly did love the FL.
I'm holding on hope that this will air this year. I've noticed that South Wind Knows My Mood and The Nest are being aired years after being filmed. Most likely because Song Yi had great success with Destined and Cheng Yi with Mysterious Lotus Casebook. Meet Yourself and Road Home were also successful this year.
Aside from the insanely attractive ML and the chemistry between leads, there is nothing else going for this drama. The plot is abysmal and the characters are dumb. The amount of times these people could have called the cops but didn't or the amount of times the ML had to come and save the FL was redundant and excessive. This gets a 6.5 for me.
I personally think Meet Yourself does it better.
This video breaks everything much easier.
