To the very end, he’d rather have Ming Zhu’er hate him than have him live with the painful truth T___T
Zhan Zhao explaining himself and giving the sword to Bai Yutang makes it pretty obvious to him that they’re not going to kill him off. If they did the opposite and had him assure the guy that they’ll see each other again soon – I would be worried, but when he actually pretty much says goodbye? Yeah, he’s coming back and Bai Yutang is probably going to tease him about not giving back the sword.
I’m actually pleasantly surprised by the Huo family plot. I genuinely expected the drama to indicate that they were fully on Prince Xiangyang’s side, so to see that it wasn’t the case and them choosing to turn themselves in was nice to see.

I really like the whole act that the group is putting up for Magistrate Hu. The guy was not even subtle in the way he was trying to sow discord in the group and split them up, and all of his actions in town until that point were such an obvious show.
I’m so happy that for once, a drama offers a character that is not so blinded by any past they share with someone not to consider that they may have changed and not be the person they remember anymore, or that they might be the villain that they are looking for. Bai Yutang may still be my favourite, but Zhan Zhao really scored a lot of points with me here.
I have very mixed feelings about Zhan Zhao’s attitude to letting Ming Zhu’er know about the past. On one hand, I kinda understand but at the same time, I can’t help wondering if part of his attitude isn’t because there is more to it than just what we have been made to believe until that point. But, it doesn’t change the fact that the longer he keeps it away from him, the messier it will be when the truth comes out eventually.
Also, Zhao Zhi’er – him bringing it up so out of the blue with Ming Zhu’er makes me all the more suspicious.

Is there something you've noticed that I am not aware of?" - For one, there is a ton of this pseudo-news that, if I'm perfectly honest, don't deserve to be qualified as news because it's just pure trashy, sensational, clickbait type of gossip, so anything else just drowns under them. But I also wasn't able to find it in a news section, which is usually the only one I look at, it's only when I began to scroll while looking for something else that I was able to see it. So, between these two things, it was not easy to find.
I'm 100% looking forward to all of LYQ's dramas. I loved him in "The Double", he was the best ML in "Perfect Match" for me, and the main reason why I watched "Feud". I'm sure I'll enjoy others, too :)

Agreed. I think either Linglong's dad or someone in the family in general and he's 100% aware of what's going on. As to the other one - yes, either Magistrate Hu or the older guy that is helping around with info and leading them to places. I know he doesn't seem to have a high position but he clearly holds respect, so it could be just a 'disguise' of sorts to fool the group.
The way the people were shouting at that friend to kill the guy, and how nobody batted an eye when he was actually killed, makes me think this is how the order in that place might have been established.
It's interesting that Zhan Zhao has made such a turn, and I imagine as we learn more, it's only going to make more and more sense why his attitude had become the way it did.

Jin Zhenping, with every single word, and every single scene, the guy is revealing himself to be bigger and bigger scum. And the old guy is actually shielding him from taking responsibility... And then he acts as if Bai Yutang should protect the Jin family's reputation, as if he had any reason to. And even threatening him. That whole family deserves to fall down from its pedestal very, very hard.
Still loving Zuo Ye's performance here. Even if it's a small role - although bigger than I expected it to be when I found out he's here - a part of me is almost sad to see the arc coming to an end.
Obviously, Zhan Zhao is not dying yet. I am now unsure whether I want them to figure out a way to cure him, because it would be very sad for him to be killed off at the end of this drama, or if I actually would like to see a drama make such a bold move, even if it will probably be quite devastating.
