Episode 23

Episode 22

Of course, Xie Huaigui is going to be poisoning Li Mao even more.

I love how almost nobody is even surprised by what happened and the timing of the accusations and everything. And Xiao Wuyi couldn’t make it more obvious he knows exactly that Li Mao is behind it lol

Hahahahaha, Xie Jiayu just taking the document from Li Mao. Dude, are you really going to go the delusional route, believing that she holds any feelings for you still, both after everything that happened and what you are doing now?

LOL. I know that scene is supposed to be serious and all, but the “What do you mean by elderly?” in prison just made me laugh so hard.

A chance to choose again? Lol. No, really please, do not go down that road.

Never have I hoped more that a character would wake up and snap out of it than I do with Li Mao now. I really don’t want him to go down the typical road. I’m still thinking he will but hope dies last, they say.

Though, even if he does... I'm not sure anyone would be able to trust him again, and rightfully so.

Episode 21

Yuanji, you’re breaking my heart along with Xiao Yao’s T___T I’m not expecting a happy ending for them because the pairs I root for rarely get one, but you could have waited with crushing my hopes until last episodes lol

Damn, a part of me had been hoping for Li Lejun to have a very rude awakening upon meeting with the Eagle King and the guy not only not accepting her there but actually being anything but nice to her. I’m still expecting that to go in the direction, but it would be nice if she just had a bucket of cold water thrown at her.

TWO YEARS LATER? I figured there will have to be a bit of a time skip but I wasn’t expecting it to be so big.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything more fake than all the gifts and promises that Li Mao offered to Xiao Wuyi and Xie Jiayu and their marriage lol And the dishes and everything lol

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. With the direction he's going in, he'll only get worse and there will be no return for him.

So either Xiao Wuyi is going to have a vey drastic change of hearts and take the seat, or they find some more distant relative to do so. Or they'll just use their power to place whoever they want on the throne lol

Episode 20

Am I evil for being a bit disappointed that they’re actually trying to save Li Mao? I have a feeling that they are going to regret it very, very, very soon.

Oh finally, it’s time to deal with the Empress. Hurray.

Wow, the Empress even poisoned her own son? And he actually knew? Father of the year is already awarded, I guess she’s the Mother of the year award candidate lol

Well, at least the Empress’ days are as numbered as the Emperor’s. BUT I STILL WANT THAT EUNUCH TO BE DEALT WITH.

Okay, Yuanji, you are now officially not married to Xiao Wuyi anymore. Time for you to get with Xiao Yao.

Wait, what? The Emperor knows who Xiao Wuyi is? Now, that’s interesting!

I can't shake off a feeling that there may be no redemption for him. I guess it depends on how evil he gets but something tells me it will be bad. I may be wrong, obviously and a part of me hopes I am. We will see soon, I suppose :)

And yeah, I'm watching #20 right now :)

Episode 19

The Empress is one thing but gosh, it’s the Eunuch that I want to see die a very painful, miserable death more than her even.

Noooo, don’t tell me Yuanji is actually a spy for the Empress. Please, let it turn out that she’s actually working as a double agent for Xiao Wuyi.

So that guy IS her old beloved? Xiao Yao, you better act or I’ll kick your butt.

I liked the scene at the end and all, it's nice to see even XIe Jiayu speak of her attitude in the past compared to know and to see them united this way. There’s one thing I couldn’t help thinking of… If he bled so much during the beating and all, when they’re showing his back… Shouldn’t it be a bit more injured?

I’m at the point when I wonder exactly who they intend to make the Emperor in the end. Xiao Wuyi doesn’t want the seat, and I can’t imagine he will want to take it knowing that Xie Jiayu doesn’t want a palace life. Li Mao is probably going to make himself as unworthy as they come in no time at all. Is there anyone else left to be placed in that seat?

The thought sure did cross my mind too lol

That sure is a possibility. Though, a wicked part of me would like to see him be killed by Xie Jiayu herself, especially now that we have been shown she wants to learn martial arts. Would they show it for no reason? I don't think so, so she's probably going to use that on someone. And who would be better than someone who has hurt her so much time and time again, after acting like a caring parent most of her life? Not that I think it's going to happen, but it would be my wish.

I know right?! The drama was just beginning, how are we already so close to the end?

I have a feeling he's around the very top of the list of those to be punished. There's only so many episodes left, I expect we should see him brought to justice one way or another soon, and I already can't wait for that.

Episode 18

Aww, Xie Jiayu, come on. He was clearly the one that made these for you.

I bet he’s just going to buy that mountain himself and just give it to Xie Jiayu, no borrowing or interest needed.

What do you think he wants, eh?

Oi, Xiao Wuyi, I’m pretty sure he had already forgotten that path.

I initially expected that Li Mao would force Xie Jiayu to marry him in the later part of the drama but now, after the way Li Lejun was dealt with, and how big of a role Xie Jiayu played in it, I’m not really sure anymore. Or actually, I could still see that as his way to take his revenge, forcing her to enter the palace, knowing that she doesn’t want to, and try to ensure she’s as miserable as possible. Unless he goes mad enough to think that Xie Jiayu was forced to do all of that by Xiao Wuyi, completely forgetting about the fact that it was her mother.

Interesting, interesting! I have to say – I definitely did not miss the Empress. Can they get rid of her already, please? Along with that Eunuch of hers preferably.

Episode 17

Yuanji and Ruisheng are just so fun together.

Well, that sure is one moment to confess your feelings, my man.

Oh, I completely forgot that with her mother dead, the shadow envoys would now likely follow Xie Jiayu.

Aww, I really like that whole Xie Jiayu explaining how she came to understand things scene. “I happen to know such a lunatic” and the way he smiles at that lol

The scene at the Xie family. She couldn’t make it clearer to Li Lejun that she knows it was her. Well, Li Lejun, you’ve made your bed.

It may not have been quite as… dramatically eventful episode as some of the previous ones but it was still very enjoyable. It’s so nice that Xie Jiayu now knows the truth, and I imagine she is now going to support Xiao Wuyi, obviously because of her own connection to him, but also as a bit of a honouring her mother thing.

I know, right? So far, each and every episode keeps you interested and entertained, be it with action, twists, intrigues, humour or anything else. I really hope they keep this up all the way till the end.

That whole competition was amazing, too. I really liked how they showed her realising that his eyes are acting up again, and quickly jumping in to prevent everyone from realising. And how they practiced for that very possibility, too.

Hahaha, yes, I'm with you on the Empress. I'm actually almost surprised she lives this long lol

Oh, I know they are dubbed. It's just that out of all the episodes, in episode 16, the va really had moments of sounding genuinely like HMH himself :)

And I have no doubts going with the Eagle King wouldn't be all that fun for Li Lejun but I have a feeling that what's going to actually come for her is going to be way, way worse. (And yes, I don't want to know spoilers, thank you <3)
