Title Si Jin Spoiler
In the novel that I read, Xian is his biological mother. She had 2 sons Qi and Jin. But since emperor was sick…
Also Yu Qi was prophesied to bring misfortune to his father emperor upon his birth, he was sent away to grow up neglected because he was an inauspicious omen. His mother dislikes him because he could cause the downfall of her position as the mother of an “ill omen”.

Very HE
Yeah that’s him finding her after she was killed, her last memory was of him standing over her, so she’s a bit traumatized.

he didn’t kill her, but she died indirectly because of him. It’s because he’s a prince, I don’t want to ruin the killer’s identity, but trust me, he goes crazy. She avoids him in this life, because she thinks she loved him more than he loved her (due to a misunderstanding) & she died for loving him more than herself.

Title The Rise of Ning Spoiler
OK, here is what I think is a plot hole. Yining has this amazing new father that cares about her so so much; why…
So in the novel, & the drama. The Duke of Ying is actually a subordinate of Commander Lu (everyone is), only Wang Yuan has somewhat equal power to him. Even the emperor greatly fears & respects Lu Jiaxue who killed his elder brother & handed him the throne. This is why you see the Duke treat him respectfully & Shenyuan act clueless to everything even though they both know he's with the ninja guys. Yinning tells no one about her issues with Lu Jiaxue, because there's no point, Wei Ling or Shenyuan going against Jiaxue is almost a guaranteed death sentence. He does not care at all about their lives and he wouldn’t save them for her sake. She’s the only one who can go against him so blatantly without severe consequences because she knows he “loves” her.
