First of all, I want to say that today's episode confirmed what I have been saying about Pete all this time.
'' I live in the present, what I am feeling is what I think about'' Pete was disconnecting himself from his emotions all this time. He was trying hard to maintain a certain image in front of others and it showed. His smile is his coping mechanism and how he deals with each situation. It was proved once again during the bathtub scene. He kept smiling instead of sharing his feelings with Porsche. He keeps his emotions locked inside and tries to spead positivity when in reality his mind is drowing in the darkness.
In the confrontation between him and Vegas we actually got an insight on the way he actually thinks. Just like Vegas, he does not think highly of himself, he considers himself useless, with no emotions like a normal human being. He also has a tendecy of hurting himself just like Vegas. He was ready to get killed since the day he stepped foot in the mansion of the minor family, and he was ready to die on today's episode. He also hit himself when he was alone in the room. Him and Vegas are two sides of the same coin. What makes him different from Vegas is that Pete draws the line at hurting himself and then tries to disconnect from his emotions by keeping up a facade. On the other hand, Vegas self-projects on others and lets his anger and agrresive behaviour take over him, which Pete pointed out and used it against him in an attempt to let him go. This also proves the fact that Pete is observant and good at reading others.
Vegas and Pete both put a facade to deal with their trauma. Vegas maintains an image of an aggressive and violent man letting his trauma out in the world, letting others feel the pain he does. Meanwhile, Pete maintains an image of an optimistic man hiding his trauma behind his smile. It is only when their worlds collide that they are able to take off their masks and are forced to face their true selves leaving them both vulnerable in the presence of one another.
I loved evey bit of VegasPete scenes today. They all transmitted so many emotions. We got to see how their dynamic works and how their relationship is. I could write about them all day but I want to take the chance and talk about the rest of the episode.
To be honest, lately I have been more invested in VP and it is a know fact that I am VP biased, but on today's episode the KP storyline caught my interst more than it did in the last few episodes. The problem with the relationship of KP is that they luck communication. They started working on it and they are making progress, but Porche keeping secrets from Kinn will obviously cause trouble between them. I can nt wait to see how Kinn will confront Porsche about it. I don't blame Porsche because it was a sensitive topic and it would be hard to bring it up to Kinn. Maybe Porsche will be able to understand Kinn's position back when they had to face Tawan.
Concerning Kim and Chay, they did not have much screentime today but their scenes were interesting. Chay is taking time to process things and learning how to let go of Kim.
What liked about their story today was Kim's reaction upon learning that Chay is nowhere to be found. Kim is the most calculative of all the characters. He is the one who is the least to be carried away by his emotions. So far, he has proved that his emotions don't take over him, he is different than Kinn and Vegas. Which make me think that he is the most fitting one to be the mafia boss. However, evne if he is able to seperate work and emotions it is clear that his feelings are still there, they lie within his heart deep inside and he will let them show just for a split second. That makes Kim an interesting character to me even if I want to punch his beautiful face most of the time.
Finally, I wanna say that Tankhun remains the best character in the series and has an actual brain. I love my fashionable king <3
The straightest couple we had was Sebastian and Elizabeth. May they rest in peace.
I thought they were siblings there is nothing straight in KP universe excpet the dads but their sexuality only serves as a plot device so we can have our gay daddies, or else they would be gay too.
