I was thinking where I stand concerning the matter with Build. If you are tired of the topic or uncomfortable with it feel free to skip my comment. I just wanted to let it out of my chest.
I said before I am very conflicted so I wanted to stay neutral. I was thinking hard about why I wanted to stay neutral. Because his comments were 8 years ago and he apologized? Maybe, but still not good enough. Because I was shocked after hearing the news and I did not know how to feel? Possible. Because I had associated him with positive feelings before and it was hard to seperate those feelings from the image of him I had in mind? That is most likely it.
Usually, I try to avoid stanning celebrites to an excessive amount. I keep reminding myself that we don't really know those people on personal level, which is why it is better if we apppreicate and admire their work instead of them as a person. I am not saying every celebrity is a bad person, but most of the times we love the image of those people represented to us. We only see what they allow us to see.
After making this clear in my head, I tried to think what I would do if Build was just a random person and not an actor I admired. The answer was more clear. Thus ,I decided that I shall not forgive him, for now at least. I am not going to spread any hate ,since this will lead to a vicious cycle of hate.However ,his words were disgusting displaying such thoughtless and inconsiderate behaviour resulting in encouraging mysogyny,objectification of women's bodies, and the glamorization of sexual violence.
I do believe in second chances as I have said before, but second chances are won, not given to anyone for free. Yes, it depends on the mistakes too, and it is possible that his mindset has changed over the years. Build from 2014 might be a different person from Build in 2022. He still needs to prove it tho through his actions and words in the present.
I felt I had to get this out of my chest as I was trying to stand on a neutral ground. But, whenever I looked at Build's face the feeling of my past admiration was now replaced with a feeling of numbness. I really can not express it in words. I am taking my time to seperate Build from Pete as I want to keep enjoying the series and especially VegasPete.
Now, for those who say that VP stans are quick to forgive Vegas but can not do the same for Build. Do I really need to explain the difference between reality and fiction? Fiction serves more as a way to entertain ourselves and should be seperated from reality. There are definitely fictional stories which can make us think differently about our own reality and world, They can make us see things in a new light and can even teach us things. But, if someone expects to gain anything as morals or life lessons from KP, then they are in the wrong place. KP is mostly for entertainment and none of the beheviours represented in the series is supposed to serve as an example to follow suit in real life.

Literally I am considering going back to anime cause I can stan drawings for who they are. It is sad how you see women excusing such behaviour, how can people in our society get educated when some women do not support other women? we are supposed to stand in this together and not make up excuses to forgive such a nasty way of thinking. Yes people do deserve seconc chanses, but they need to win them first.
