I am living off that preview and can not help but analyse it a bit.
In the preview, Vegas is lying on Pete's arm while he holds his hand, caressing it gently and he is once again opening up to him. I think that in this scene he has already realized that he is falling for Pete. Also, the way Vegas' lies on Pete's arm showcases how Pete is the one to catch Vegas whenever he falls, he is his safe space. At the same time,it also indicates that Pete is the one in control of their relationship despite the fact that he is the one that is restrained physically.

I think there was an ounce of truth in Pete's answer. His sympathy towards Vegas took over him , but I do believe he is trying to manipulate Vegas, so maybe he was also lying. It would be hard for Pete to escape from that remoted place without outside help. He had a slim chance of making it taking into consideration his wounds too.
After getting some sleep and reading the thoughts of others , I re-watched the VP scenes in a different light. Yesterday I was disappointed but now my mind is in more clear state so I came back to comment on my thoughts now.
First, let's start with the first scene of VP. Pete's sarcasm and bravery are showcased in the first scene by the manner he answers Vegas' questions.As I have mentioned before, I believe that Pete is an observant person who is good at reading his surroundings. He is interested in studying others which is why he was interested in the personality test. Pete was once again studying Vegas with the help of the book and he even made a remak that added to the results of the personality test. He made the remark that Vegas needed love, while the book only said he is sensitive. Pete can read Vegas like an open book and he tries to use his skills to his advantage.
Some users have mentioned that Vegas left the keys and the door unlocked on purpose to set Pete free. That could be the case, or maybe he was really worried about his pet to pay attention to anything else. Whatever the case, he was surprised to find out that Pete chose him over his freedom. Once again, Vegas allowed himself to be vulnerable in front of Pete and he proved once again that he fights pain with pain. He is really hurting inside, he thinks lowly of himself because of the inferiority complex passed on to him by his father. Once again, he tries to deal with the pain inside him by trying to have control over others. However, this time is different. He does not use violence to control Pete, he tries to seduce him but he does not go any further until he gets the permission to do so. When he is kissed by Pete a clear smirk of victory is shown upon his face. He is satisfied that Pete gave in to him. Vegas takes pleasure in having control, but he is subconsiously falling for Pete, that is why he is incapable of hurting him like before. He seeks for Pete's acceptance, he wants Pete to let him have control. He wants his permission. This was even shown by the way he kissed Pete's tied hands. He was grateful to Pete for trusting him.
The comemnents in the book and Pete's remark were spot on. That is why Vegas was so triggered. Vegas acts all tough on the outiside but, in reality he is sensitive. It was shown in the way he behaves and even during their sex scene. In the first scene, he kicked the book out of Pete's hands instead of hurting Pete.I thought Vegas was driven by lust at first, but I was wrong. He was not having sex, he was making love to Pete and it is possible he did not realize it himself until they were done. His soft side was evident throughout the whole scene. He was going slowly and was being gentle making sure that Pete won't get hurt. He even kissed Pete twice.Those kisses were not driven by lust, there was no lust behind them. He pressed his lips on Pete's twice, showing tenderness and affection. He kissed him once during sex and once when he was done. Then, he chose to lie extremely close to Pete, he was almost lying on Pete's shoulder.
I believe Vegas wanted to deal with pain the way he always does. By trying to feel in control, however, when they were done having sex, Vegas made a serious face. He realized that the sex was not just a way for him to deal with his pain, he started realizing that Pete has an effect on him like no one else ever had before.
On the other hand, Pete was smiling in satisfaction after the sex. I think he is pleased that he brought Vegas exactly where he wanted to. He has been studying Vegas and knows exactly how to read him. I think he is manipulating him into falling for him so he can escape.
I have mentioned before that Vegas and Pete use their smiles as weapons to survive in the world of crime. Vegas uses his smiles as a way to manipulate others and Pete uses his smiles as a way to confront every situation he comes across. Now their roles are reversed and combined. Pete continues to uses his smile as a means of survival but he now he uses them to display manipulation as Vegas did, and Vegas' smirk showcased a small vistory that he managed to seduce Pete, only to realize he is the one getting seduced.
Now, I thought hard about that music in the background, and I still hate it. But I tried to understad its purpose. I guess they chose an ominus music to highlight the intentions of Vegas and Pete. They were both trying to manipulate each other but, soon they will find out that what is going on between them is beyond their control and power.

I love that switch between them. Vegas has just started realising his feelings but I believe Pete will take some time to fully comprehend his feelings towards Vegas.
Remember how Pete said in earlier episode's that kissing is only for people we like? And he was the one who initiated the kiss between him and Vegas. Also, during that kiss Vegas was smirking giving off the vibe that his ego was satisfied. He really felt victorious because Pete gave in to him. Vegas likes to have control over others so he can feel powerful. But, after the sex, it was Pete smiling and Vegas looking all serious. What if Pete's smile indicates that he is the one manipulating Vegas and Vegas' serious face indicated that he is is realising that he is getting consumed by Pete instead of the other way around?

I like how you pointed out the fact that Chay knows how hard life can get, he has seen how his uncle suffered and what lengts his brother went to in order to provide them with money. It was literally stupid of him to throw away his education over a heartbreak. People come and go in our lives, that is why our top priority should be ourselves. You would think Chay would be more mature after everything he and his family went through but he proved how stupid he can get.
As for Kim, honestly appearing out of nowhere to play hero and then leave Chay alone and getting anrgy at him made zero sense. What was the purpose of going there in the first place if he was going to leave Chay in danger? I am so mad at Kim, if he really cares then he should at least kick some sense into Chay and force him out of the club.
