'' Friendship has always been the cornerstone of a strong romantic relationship'' I could not agree more! Personally I like romantic relationships that start off as friendships more! It feels more natural and it has that comforting and safe feeling. There is trust and genuine bond, if that is not a great foundation to build a strong romantic relationship I don't know what it is. I am not saying that friendship alone can not be strong. Platonic feelings are just as important and valid, and I am not saying that all friendships should lead to romance. But most romantic relationships start off , or at least should start off an equal ground. Meaning the parties involved should form a bond beforehand before entering a relationship, which can be considered as a form of friendship. Romantic relationships involve friendship as well, cause let's not kid ourselves. Passion alone can not keep a romantic relationship going. Understanding, trust , honestly and respect can. Personally I think treating your life partner as a friend as well is an important part of a relationship, cause if you can not trust your life partner the way you do your best friend what is even the point?
I don't think we are supposed to feel sorry for Oh Beom Seok, but more like understad why he turned out the way he did. His trauma does not excuse his behaviour. We were given an insight on his life in order to see his journey and what made him make the choices he did. All people are different and their choices in a similar situation can be also different. While others in his place could have acted differently, there are also people who would turn the way he did. His actions are not justified but make sense. Oh Beom Seok was bullied for beaing weak in his previous school and that is the reason he got tranferred. In his new school history was about to repeat it self , but Yeon Shi Eun standing up for himself gave him the opportunity to do the right thing by asking Ahn Soo ho to help Yeon Shi Eun. At first he wanted to be friends with the ''cool'' people and get a taste of the good high school life, a normal wish that most kids his age have. At the same time he tried to maintain a low profile but he soon fell victim again, until he saw there were people who could stand up against the bullied. He tried to make it up to Yeon Shi Eun, and he did and Yeon Shi Eun himself forgave him and considered him a friend. He finally felt that he found a place he could belong to, but a simple thing as a ''follow back'' triggered his insecurities. It might feel like a silly thing to get obsessved over, but it fueled his insecurities among other things, like others not seeing him as an equal of his friends which resulted to him doubting his own friends and especially Ahn Soo Ho. In reality, what he was upset about was not the follow back that he never got, but all the unsettled feelings that were created by the constant abuse and bullying he experienced. There were a pile of negative emotions that led him to act this way, the one on the top were his insecurities and the one at the bottom of the pile was the abuse that resulted in the insecurities, at which he acted upon. His reaction to the trauma he is experiencing makes sense as he never really dealt with it, and once he was given the chance to fight against his bullies he was denied so, he felt as of his friends disregred his trauma and that is when he exploded. I do not justify his actions, actually I am pretty mad at him and I wish he had not gotten down this path. I just think it was a nice set up for an antagonist, or a befallen tragedy between friends
Scrolling down I saw people talking about people pushing the bl romance between the leads. Honestly, in my opinion it does not even matter. It is just a harmless ship and people should enjoy the series how they like. I personally see a strong and genuine bond that could turn into something romantic, but it does not matter. Real friendship is a strong as romance, it is another form of love but we can not deny that a strong friendship is also a good foundation for a romantic relationship. Besides, a life partner is also supposed to be your best friend. Anyways, I don't care if their relationship is platonic or romantic, all I see is two boys that care about each other a lot and that is beautiful. Everyone is free to interpret it as friendship or something more.

As someone who read the first chapters from the webtoon a few months ago, I think this is more like a prequel so it ends right where the webtoon starts. It ends on a cliffhanger that makes you want more but it also works like a prequel so it kinda works on its own as well.
