That scene in episode 17 12:00... one of the best changes in any adaptation i must say. The acting, the emotions, the cinematography EVERYTHING was perfect. I didnt realize i wasnt breathing. I couldnt help seeing and saying "Oh Chen Yi!" When he began to wipe his bloodied hand DESPERATELY cause he didnt want her to see them. His question and only fear was whether he scared her or not...whether he turned into that very man whose blood runs through him and whom he despised. His trembling breath and tight hug like he is holding onto the very last thread of his sanity! Gosh! I love however the screen writer has modified this adaptation.
1. Calm down. 2. Wan always knew it was the 2nd Male Lead who caused that stabbing incident and still keptnin…
He didn't directly but indirectly he did betray Wan. Whether or not Xiao got stabbed is another matter and a consequence even Jiang Yan didnt think of but what he did was a direct harm of Wan no matter what. Even in novel and also in the drama. His inferiority complex or whatever "excuse", he should have NEVER involved Wan, his so called childhood friend, academic rival and also his potential crush, to drag Xiao down. It was a major plothole in my sense. Wan could have chosen to keep in touch or be understanding of his "excuse" for betrayal regardless of Xiao's involvement. But to be besties and all was like being mother Teresa. In the novel, she stayed away from him and disdained his approaches and VERY clearly drew line and reprimanded him of his actions. Which was kinda Wan like as she was not a forgiving person. She never forgave her ownself as well.
The drama gave Yan a redemption arc cause he was a pitiful character driven by toxic environment and never truly appreciated or loved. Wan might have "relate" to that feeling and kept him from doing full dark. That was what i came up with to fill the considerable plot hole. Otherwise it didnt make sense.
pls tell me its not step siblings trope😔😔😔🫪🫪🫪
I read the novel long ago with MTL so not 100% accurate but it is kinda like his dad and her mom was about living together but didnt register their marriage. But after hia father's death and with FL's mother's never ending habit of abandoning the FL, one thing lead to another and the ML decided to look after the FL. He sponsored her education and they lived in his house. Though to the people around them consider them as siblings because thats how they introduce each other, but neither legally nor genetically they were ever siblings.
Ok why is the 2ML still in her life? Has he ever found out what happened to Xiaoxiao cz of his drunk rant? I don’t…
1. Calm down. 2. Wan always knew it was the 2nd Male Lead who caused that stabbing incident and still keptnin touch with the 2nd ML. Xiao never knew untill Yan confessed himself. He did say sorry. Wan always, i mean ALWAYS , tried to understand Yan cause both were from a broken family. So, Yan was something Wan neither forgave nor gave a chance to. A friendship with clear line is what she had always maintained. 3. They get back together quite naturally without having to say it out loud and not clearly shown but Xiao comes to know about the "deal" after Wan confessed everything in her drunk state (during the hottest kiss scene). I guess thats when he gets to know. 4. Xiao is 3% angry and 97% anxious. He used crude words to invoke her guilt but his aim was, by any means, make her willing stay with him. If he had his way, he would have kidnap her and flee to an abandoned island because that is how much he felt the separation anxiety.
Good thing about this adaptation, they toned it down. Pretty much everything is toned done a lot. And people got their redemption arc. I didnt quite felt the need qhen i was reading them as the angst was quite a charm of the story and so much required in the book but since they decided to tone it down, i felt the luke-warm story with redemption arc was perfectly balanced. I still felt a lot of loopholes remains but they portrayed Wan as a much less hated character and Xiao as well much less cold. 10 years was a lot for someone to turn grey but Xiao somehow didn't, couldn't.
it depends what u mean. do u mean cold type of guy that warms up or what do you mean?
I would say Generation to Generation (the same fl) had the same patterm for the ML. A loser to whom that one girl like the air he needed DESPERATELY to breath. No matter what, that man never stopped yearning for his oxygen 😅
I saw some clips in which lu xixiao was taking tranquilizers and he also had panic attacks . But i want to know…
Sang Wan and XX is different in terms of the environment they grew up in. The thing Xiao fears the most, in my opinion, was abandonment. Wan healed him with whatever intention her beginning was, she was genuine in her wish to make Xiao happy and healed. But she headed old scars just to crave an new and more deeper one in him. If friends and anything could heal him ever so easily he would not have needed Wan to heal at the first time as well. He needa Wan to heal even this time as well. Sang yan never needed any external healing. YiFan was just pure breathable air for him which he cannot live without. YiFan needed HIM to heal and he was ready without any demand. Wan and Xiao are both broken in pieces so Sang Yan and Xiao's damage are differently received and differently reacted upon. The drama made Wan a much more likeable character amd Xiao a much more pained one. Wan suffered as much YiFan. When Xiao would knoq that, he would also be like Sang Yan. As much regretful about his actions and angry about why she chose to suffer rather than letting him protect her, why she couldn't trust him as he COULD fight against anyone for her. But Wan is realistic, she knew at that age of bearly 19, he could not. An a Lu has a lot to bear and a lot to lose. Xiao's behavior is also realistic.
Just finished ep 20. Don't like seeing ZW all happy picking up JY at the airport. She needs to find out he was…
True. Also the fact that this person is 2nd male lead candidate. I mean that was unnecessary. LXX was down bad for her even without the existence of any man woman child alien beside her 🤣 no rival was quite necessary since he sees none and nothing if Wan is in the fieldview.
It started with the leads having meals and comforting each otherThen He confessed to herThen the grandmother died…
This is and always has been the trajectory of Wan's life. Whenever she is happy and gets thr taste of love or warmth, life slaps her with the utter despair. That is why XX is always so protective and cautious with her. And why she is always so anxious to love and be loved.
guys does it getter better after ep 2 im insanely bored and rly don’t wanna waste my time again
Its a slow beginning but fast paced. The atory building always needs time. And considering its a "connect the dots" from past and present kinda drama, it is bound to be a but slow at times.
Absolutely nonsense! Lu Xi Xiao could have saved that girl if he was on the other side of the railing don't know…
To make it more dramatic and cliche i must say. This was not supposed to be like this and in my opinion never should have been modified. The actual notion of his trauma and more importantly the trauma response jas been weighed down SO MUCH just to input some FL-ML chemistry cliche life saving thing just... i donno made this drama more light hearted? He never came even near the railing. He was traumatized just by the scene of that gurl near that railing and that was enough for him to get dejavu and replace the entire scene with his past flashbacks. His mind wasnt here at all untill Wan came in between and started to talk about her life struggles and how no one has it easy but giving up aint the solution and all. Wan broke Xiao's trench and brought him back to reality and also somehow broke that girl's resolve to give up on life. Wan saved both without the "heroic" actions. My question is, was this way of saving not enough? Was it really necessary to make a traumatic response this weightless and make a "imma save my man" kinda thing?
Anybody tell me will that mother get punishment or will she realise in the ending of drama according to novel…
Even though the drama aint following the novel almoat about 75% now, but in the drama she gets punished. Everything she worked ao hard for with all those lies and deceptions, gets talen away from her. She gets kicked out of the Lu family and all. She NEVER realized or accepted being wrong.
At this point i am gonna assume i am watching a drama which didnt have a novel. It will help me getting less dissatisfied with the "adaption" and more enjoyable as an "independent story".
Much of their relationship occurs in the past. The atory build is happena all in the past as that is the reason…
NOOOOO! this is gonna be 60/40. Cause they will be solving everything left in the dark in 2016. The misunderstanding, reunion, him forgiving her, her accepting that "love" is something she doesn't need to need to be scared of or will disappear. Because she had never known how love works you see. We will see her growing along with him.
Same as a novel reader i am so disappointed idk about the rest of novels i read how they will he adapted
Exactly. With the current living situation... we will miss there story of her slowly leaning on him as a dependable partner, their moments together in his house AND that garden that he kept intact even after all those yearsssss. I mean WHYYYYYYYYYY?
This is a reverse role drama. It aint anything new in Cdramas where male leads makes mistakes, takes the wrong…
True. XX looks more realistic to me. Like this is a very normal reaction for a human. I liked reading him a lot. Sang yan in the novel was also kind of sassy but the drama Sang yan was like a moutain with the ever- so -unmoving patience. Almost like a monk but just super thirsty and hungry 🤣🤣
She is using him, yes.Not for money from him or his family. She doesnt want luxury. She wants chaos and threaten…
She calls it revenge. Because, every time she wanted to come clean or stop, life threw her a new reason to go on with this deception. Revenge for what her mother had caused to her grandmother and father. Not every revenge is like some grand plan. They are comparable in the eyes of any 3rd person seeing them. Both deceived and "used" others for their own means. Regardless of what the reason was, people being used were hurt. And in the novel, her revenge was successful but her end goal failed.
I donno what made them pull this "our fault" move of making Wan move in as a "god daughter". They destroyed SO many plots and moments with just this one change. That calling "brother" moment was suppoaed to be like salt on open wound kinda thing, but...
if i hadn't watched the drama myself, i'd think the female lead is using the male lead for getting herself chanel…
She is using him, yes. Not for money from him or his family. She doesnt want luxury. She wants chaos and threaten the "peace" her mother has now by being a constant living proof of her past and present deceptions. So, Wan's mother lived a life of deceptions and Wan is now living a life of deception. Thus they are comparable. The money Wan asked from her mother, has nothing to do with LXX's family or him, that was supposed to be legally the money Wan was supposed to have due to her fathers death. And that money wouldn't have in the picture if grandma didnt need it. If they follow the novel, that money wont be even used cause Wan will lose the reason to use it. Wan used XiXiao just by being near him would allow one day to be seen and lure her mother and make her mother think that Wan is doing the aame as she heraelf did-"trap a rich man" and that will expoae mommy san's lies abought being a good waifu.
