Mind vs realty 101

This is a story about an awkward and terrified boy who gets a job with his idol and uses all he has got not to let it show... And his Idol who had lost his inner glow.

While the boy is also terrified of touch the idol has lived abroad and is more of a use his body to communicate type of guy than actual words.

Both boys end up misscommunicating a lot, and as the feelings grow the scarier it gets.

We the viewers get to hear both boys thoughts and the difference between thoughts and actual actions are a lot of fun to watch. And also kind of relatable as relationships, owning up to onrs emotions and so on is really scary at times. It is also this gap that keeps me the viewer both frustrated and on my toes wondering if they ever will actually own up to their inner thoughts or not.

The side characters are mostly lovely I especially love the female co workers who come with spot on analysises of the situation and sayd the words I was thinking.

A light, easy to binge drama with lots of awkwardness, smiles and fluff... not perfect deffenetly worthy of the little time it takes to binge it, and I wouldnt have minded a few extra episodes.

Light and fluffy classic rom com

This movie is one of those movies you watch just because you can not decide on what to watch next, a classic in between dramas cleanser as it does not have a lot of substance to offer but does offer fluff, at times bad comedy and few decent messages hidden in-between the meeh ones.

Crazy: I do not really get the "crazy" part of the drama, Jackie is not crazy, she is rather hurt, and in need of just about anyone to help her look beyond herself. So self centred yes, crazy nope... Or maybe it is the people around Kyko that are crazy as they seem to take advantage of this overly kind soul without a single thought about how he might feel.

Beautiful - Well there is a lot of beauty here, scenery, looks, gazes, relationships... all very beautiful indeed

You- Well there are both mes, I, is and yous so I guess this part makes sense.

There is one part in this movie that they portray really well, which is how people with privilege take their privilege for granted and act like they are all superior for giving bread crumbs to those in need while attaching a whole bunch of untold strings and well lets face it giving while taking advantage of the less fortunate... It also shows how hard it is for the person in disadvantage to rise up and stand up for them selfs, which could have given this movie a bunch of extra points had it not been for the rest of it which over simplifies things and has some low humour.... etc.

An ok watch, not a movie I recommend to all but not one I discourage others to watch either. as it did indeed keep my interest and though it made me cringe here and there it did keep me entertained.

7 minutes of fluff.. and just a small touch of angst (people stay off train tracks)

In 7 way to short minutes we got to see the share essence of two people showing who they are, as the story has a meeting of chance as well as a problem to solve giving these two a chance to show who they are.

I must however warn sensitive viewers as there is a scene where one of the guys is on the train tracks, people stay off the tracks it is f*** dangerous there. The 7 minutes also lack logic, but I will not spoil the plot for you by telling you where the logic is missing.

This said, these are 7 really sweet minutes a joy to watch and definitely worth those 7 minutes leaving wanting a lot more and hoping to see them actually get on a train for part 2, maybe 14 minutes?

I am really impressed over the unique take (still lacking logic) of the love at a train station, I do think there is a lot more to explore for both those two and the subject of the train station.

Did I mention it is a story revolving around a train station? (sorry).

So yes, go watch it, enjoy...

A not so beautiful world....

What are my thoughts about this drama... hmm.... honestly I am conflicted with myself as the story was pretty good, most of the acting was on spot and the drama did keep me on my toes wanting to see what would happen next. At times making it a clear candidate for a 9, 9,5 but at some point the twists became just a little bit too predictable. The mother a.k. main leads acting and dialog became cringe and annoying, and they kept giving the suspects a heads up so they could collude and destroy evidence to the point of just too much...

The main family here is just a little bit to good, you know the type to be to kind, to perfect, to loving.. Though they do try to seem human they still end up a bit too much... However the friendship and the found family bits here are really good,. Again making me conflicted within myself since on the one hand I loved to see them develop and care for each other almost forgetting that even these so called overly perfect loving humans actually slapped kids out of frustration...

People do not slap kids, especially if you are teachers!

There are some good lines here and there, as well as thought provoking scenes, where they actually put the responsabilaty for the kids actions where it belongs! Not bad! There is also quite a bit of absurd humour done right but most of all a lot evil corruption etc done well.. yes I am a sucker for evil , I really am.. However once people start to repent here and there the plot loses its foremost charm as the good vs evil is kind of meeh... While the pure evil here is just gold!

The villain played by Oh Man Suk is so perfect! With flawless acting from his part leaving me 0 room to feel for him as he was truly as evil as evil gets. Making me appreciate him even more and though I can not put him on my crush list I feel I need to give him some love and maybe make a great villain actors list where he would be on top, yes that is how good he is at being evil.

The kids acting here was also really good and each role was well balanced, well written and entertaining to watch!

Bingabilaty: High
Annoying characters: the female lead

A decent drama, but could have been bette and not without tis problems...

Easy to watch

Are they poly, are they gay, is this a bromance or is this a romance?

I honestly do not know, are they punching up, down or just right out in the air I do not know that either... what I do know was that the quality of acting varied but that could be me expecting to much of these really talented actors....

Mistaken or gay or not, these guys were pretty chill about it and there is some pretty decent gay rep somewhere in there as well. I did enjoy some of the humour and found the characters to be pretty decent human beings. I can understand why some people view this as a rewatchable comfort drama as it does have a lot of fluff (literally) and not much anxiety or drama. So in short it is just one of those easy to watch kind of deals.

Love, Rain and a whole bunch of problems...

One of those sad stories... boy meets girl... girl meets boy... boy becomes best friends with other boy who wants to meet girl... two of the three fall in love with each other but... well the two that do are from different socioeconomic backgrounds. People get beaten up. a war breaks out... there is a lot of drama, some we have seen before some slightly new twists and some pretty odd twists of fate that do not make much sense but sure we can go with it...

A bunch of years later... Girl meets boy, girls best friend meets boy too ,girls best friend thinks boy is in love with her... boy is obviously not... oh what a hassle in deed... in what ways history may or may not have repeated itself is what you get to find out if you watch the movie.

The chemistry is decent, the acting too, the. scenery is lovely and there are some pretty great umbrella scenes including the magical yellow umbrella, "forgetting" to bring an umbrella and the getting sick from getting caught in the rain I am a sucker for... And if you are lucky you ay just see a rainbow by the end of the movie...

Fluff, fluffier, fluffiest...

This was just sooooo cute, while I am not really sure where the black comes in... this probably is as light and fluffy as it gets...With adorable leads, friendships and just enough drama and misunderstandings to keep it interesting but without giving angst.

The overall message seems to be good though I can not for the life of me understand why a scared face would r why a scar on a face would be such a big deal... But since this is not the first drama with that theme I guess it is a cultural difference... I could however relate to the idea of wanting to own your own life and story without being bought or sold as clickbait.

The female lead is as awkward as awkward gets and it is sooo cotton candy sweet and kind that it becomes ridiculous, but in a good way.

The male leads are so cute that part of me shipped them to each other another one was hoping for a polyamorous relationship, but no matter who she would pick would be awesome and give slight SLS (unless they would go for the polyamory) . The way these three interact is probably the sole reason for the high score...

The friends go thru some ups and downs, but are over all good supporting characters.

The female leads parents are as sweet as the female lead... So is the former beauty queen, there to show the good side of parents.

And the show is packed with sweet fun interactions among the cast.

Bingeabilaty: 10
cuteness 10
Bromance: 10
Intrigues and drama: 7
Annoying side characters: non
Kiss: 2, it felt like a dead fish kiss

No doubt a show worthy of any sweet romance lover...

Meeh

First thing, this movie can be watched with or without having seen the prequel: Vince & Kath & James, a movie that is pretty decent giving me high hopes for this sequel Hopes that were not really met... As this movie does follow a lot o the patterns from the prequel just not nearly as well made and while the prequel shines with the lack of annoying elemaents this movie is packed with oddly and stereotypical written characters that become highly annoying at times instead of sticking to this otherwise very promising story.

Both leads are mostly fun, lovable and interesting to watch as they have pretty good chemistry and seem to know their way around a set.

The scenery is very pretty and makes me want to go to the Philipeens... The movie is also bursting in colour and fluffy scenes. So it is an okay watch but I guess it could have been a lot better...

Meh but with a side of Drmamlands most beautiful dimples

This is a pretty typical best friend trying to get out of the friend-zone type of drama, with the slight twist of astrology and the stars being the biggest obstacle...

If you are watching this for Kokoy De Santos listed as the lead chances are you will be disappointed as he only shows up in episode 6 and has very limited screen time, and is poorly casted even if his charm does shine thru and well the little screen time he has giving the viewers some much awaited dimple action and deserves a lot better.

The female lead has some charm but is mostly bland and kind of frustrating. The male lead is seemingly a nice guy but is actually a typical friend-zoned jerk who thinks he deserves her... PEOPLE, there is no such thing as deserve or not deserve a persons love... love is felt and based on mutual feelings... So this part bugged the *** ********* ***** out of me. However all the friendship scenes be it between the two or their other friends rocked! But back to the Male lead he was both the sweetest guy ever and a persistent, slightly manipulative idiot that got on my nerves... However this show does offer some relatable scenes for all who have had a best friend try to force themselves in to changing the direction of ones relationship or vice versa. However I did not really like where they went with it in the show I could still appreciate some of these portrayals. as they did show some depth and complexity to this issue, but could have done a lot more.

The pacing was mehh as it did get boring at times... The star of the show (other than Kokoy De Santos dimples) was definitely the female leads mother, who stood for the comedy and was not really the typical drama mom we are used to seeing in dramas, and not the mom you would want to have either...

Bingeabilaty: 6
Lovable characters: 6
Annoying characters: non

So a pretty ok drama but not much more

A decent mix of indie and cliches

This is a pretty creative movie showing giving us small window in to the process that goes in to writing a script showing the people behind the script as well as the story they are writing parallel with each other. This movie invites us in to the world of these two writers who come together with different views on love. life and writing and mix them all in to a pretty mediocre movie. A movie we get to see within the movie.

However the chemistry, interactions and journey the writers take while writing the script is way more interesting than the movie, even if the movie within the movie does have some nice fluff and cliches, that are lovely too, the main attraction is the writers writing about love raising important questions such as can a person who has never been in a relationship write about love? What is love? are there people who have never experienced love?

The movie also deals with loss, wanting to run away and all kinds of relationships in a pretty good way. and has some pretty amazing lines among the otherwise kind of bland plot.

Said about divorce:
" It was our choice and it is for the best"

There are also some unexpected twists here and there, a few annoying elements too but all in all a pretty decent watch and time not waisted as this does have a certain uniqueness between the cliches...

De-cluttering your life can be very depressing

This movie is called Happy Old Year but does not seem to have an ounce of happiness in it... As you rather need to be completely heartless to lead a minimalist lifestyle or you have to confront all you past memories and well some of those can hurt like h*** and be the very reason you want to de-clutter your life in the first place.

The move is really well made and does a great job conveying emptiness, loss, sorrow as well as invite the viewers in to the female leads mindset. It is complex very artistic and beautifully filmed. I would say this is a high quality movie, it is not very entertain, not very touching either for that matter but the emotions are there the acting is spot on and I do feel al lot of emptyness and pain after watching this,

Though I could relate to the need to cut people and things out of ones life, since I too have cut people out of my life and though I do live in Sweden, I feel that I am not heartless enough for the minimalist lifestyle, though I do like to have free space I would like to introduce the concept of storage rooms, they rock, and keep you from having to deal with things.

So if you are in the mood for some painful de-cluttering this is definitely a one of a kind movie worth watching!

The only thing that is clear is the darkness

This movie is one of those movies that starts off making you oddly confused and may not keep you on your toes but will definitely keep you wondering and confused all the way till the end...

The filming is dark and beautiful the angels, the locations, the colors very artistic beautiful and dark, dark, so dark... At times a bit disgusting too but mostly dark...

Though I am still confused about what I watched the acting was very convincing and yep they made me confused... but in a talented kind of way....

There are not a lot of lines in this movie and the general feel is more fear and outcast than love and passion even if it has a steamy kiss and fuck scene or two there is not much longing or sweetness, this is more a straight forward, mutual outcast pain kind of relationship in an otherwise very confusing and dark oh so dark setting...

So what can I say, the entertainment value for this one is not very high but my appreciation for the details, the blood, the confusion and the high quality acting makes this worth a watch, but it is definitely not a movie for everybody, and if you have seen it and are not confused the least bit feel free to explain it to me in the comment section, just mark it spoiler.

I am probably keep analysing this for a while to figure out what I actually watched.

Slightly odd and a bit of a mess

40 years is a long time... very long time and a lot happens in 40 years having people who are 55 in 40 years younger bodies is complicated enough, trying to understand 5 of them simultaneously was a little bit to much for my mind to handle, making this a show that was a bit to hard for me to follow as well as relate to... It could also be me seeing somewhere in-between 15 and 55 in age. And I could be a little bit more judgmental then I try to admit, but seeing people who are mentally 55 flirt with 15 year olds just felt wrong in so many ways... Seeing people who have the body of a 15 year old flirt with 55 year olds also felt a bit off... but atlast there the mental age was more right... but honestly I found all of it confusing...

I did however like most of the characters and side characters, the acting was really good and each person story interesting and with mostly pretty decent messages about love, family, life regret... I still do not know what they where trying to say about age gaps... If they were trying to say anything at all?

Some endings were more predictable than others, so all in all an okay drama, just a bit to messy for me.... Also the most consist of more or less one song... and well after the 10th time hearing it I did get tired of it even if it had its charm in the beginning.

Breaking bread...

Here is a movie that finally gives the credit and love bread deserves, putting it in the centre and showing that it can not only been made in different shapes and sizes, and different flavours but that it can even give people a feeling of belonging, purpose and just the thought of getting to eat more bread can even give those in need a reason to live...

The movie has a lot of beautiful shots and I understand that it has the potential to move and touch people, just not me ... I do not know if it is my mindset or a general numbness that I have towards stories that seem to romanticise the simple life or if it was the setting that put me off of it but. For those who do like to fantasise about the simple life in the country side surrounded by fields forests with a lake view this movie is definitely something for you!

The food looks amazing, the characters seem and sweet, some are cuter than other but over all kind of bland,,,
also the couple seems genuinely nice and the whole book feel to it is soothing... Had I not had enough of the countryside, having spent a few years there myself and realising it is not my type of bread... I too would have wanted to open a bed and bread, I mean bed and breakfast where I get to meet broken people that can be mended with bread...

All in all a pretty well made movie, with a lot of niceness to it...

Decent sequel to good prequel...

This movie gives curious viewers the long awaited (ok maybe not long, but awaited) answer to what happened when after the boy´s finally got to spend time together outside the screen.

It was nice to see that cast again as well as see them interact and face reality as well as a pretty homophobic relative...

Making way for some pretty slightly cliche but good lines. The movie also includes the all important:

" safety first before you thirst"

As well as the all important waiting and feeling in your significant other though it may be hard... (pun intended), but that is part of the safety I guess...

This movie on it´s own is probably worth 7 or 8 stars but if you have a slight crush or soft-spot for the group of friends from the series you are bound to fall in love with them again here.

I also want to give this extra points for something that could be considered a spoiler so I will mention it in the comment section.

In conclusion, if you loved the drama you will probably love this if you thought the drama was mediocre well... just skip it and watch something else. If you have not seen the drama, go watch the drama first!

Oh and the use of face-masks was just perfect, so well done, they deserve a round of applause!
