I don’t think I’ll ever see a better kdrama so well done this year. I know that’s a lot to say but if you’ve seen any episode you’ll understand. I tend to be very picky and don’t tend to stray out of my comfort zone of romcom. However, I do not hesitate dropping a show when the writing starts to go downhill.
I’m so glad I took a chance on Suits and really made myself stick with it while it was airing. No, I have not seen the original nor will I probably plan to. Yes, I’ve seen the original first episode but the atmosphere in the Korean version got me hooked.
Everything about this is stylish. There’s nothing I hate heck even the sandwich truck. Nothing ever felt out of place for me. While I’ve never had an experience with attorneys or law firms everything seemed right. At the beginning I did feel lost very few times but got into the loop figuring out the system.
Moving on from that fact why I think I still understood it so well even without prior knowledge. Well the show does a really well job of saying its end goal and actually satisfyingly achieving it. Every episode starts off with a quote and that quote is always never shoehorned. Also, in general that’s why Suits worked so well to me the writing was a premium stuffed rabbit(ha ha ha I kid). Every single interaction had something to link towards where Suits would end. The whole writing was like a puzzel that knows it’s intent (probably due to the already existing original). But that doesn’t matter what matters is how well it did it. One example of this is with Go Yeon Woo’s grandmother. Typically a show would just have her for sympathy but nor Suits. She played a important part in how the last episode goes and where the protagonist see’s himself.
Thus leading to the topic of the acting from these characters. All I can say is well done they made the attorneys at Kang & Ham feel like an advengers team. They were just that amazing. Some characters did change throughout rightly so in the best ways. Overall really no complaints the actors/actresses felt real.
Lastly, the soundtrack and yes sir it was great. Even the short tracks I don’t know the names of. The main osts fit the moods at certain parts nicely. My favorite overall would have to be Now by Vromance. I can’t explain it but you know when something just feels like that’s what this show is. The beat just felt like it belonged with the roller coaster of troubles characters ran into.
Some of you might feel my passion for Suits through the screen but I think it’s well deserved. I haven’t written a lot of reviews in the past few years but I gladly finshed Suits at 4am. And I hope many of you will/did enjoy it as well. (I didn’t proof read this sorry)
