ZHZ is not a web drama, it is a TV drama. As such, the schedule is determined by CCTV and is a normal one. Two episodes per day, no breaks. Youku might release 4 on the first day to get the drama rolling online but that is about it.

Personally I consider this one a legitimate spin off. It's derived from the already existing universe, it just focuses on WZH in an independent way. But I think it was already obvious from the trailer that it has kept things from it.
As for NPSS, his Quantum is still the minor producer of the drama. He himself though didn't have any input in the script (he stated this around the time ZHZ was filming) that was based on some already written parts but that basis stayed. Anyway, as I said for me, it's definitely still connected and a part of the greater universe he created.

How much, we will only be able to say after it is broadcast (we know tomb building and Feng Shui are there but for example, Wang Zanghai is just Zanghai now). Zheng Xiaolong is considered a legendary director for a reason, he is just so good. Ah, this was amazing.
CCTV is currently doing the heavy lifting on the promotion but Youku should start too, probably more focused in a few days. Considering what we have had before from other platforms, I am also incredibly happy how they are dealing with him! It's a breath of fresh air.
