We get attached to characters like Shi Ying because the best actors like Xiao Zhan make us think they are almost alive and real. We get attached and invested in them. But in the end, it is not real. I think just pause for a few days, take a break then you can decide if you want to watch some more. Shi Ying has some great scenes in the end and you can also simply believe he comes back to her! Just give it time.

I understand completely. It's worse when you actually expect one thing and then it doesn't happen. But after some time, we can still enjoy the good scenes and ignore the ending! Just let your emotions calm first.

They probably thought this fits the drama content more or they think it is more effective. It is usually one of these things.

It means that you can interpret it in different ways. I interpret it as a sad ending but someone else may be convinced it is happy. There is no right and wrong here.

People can like whatever they like. I could also call you a delusional stan but I won't because it is ridiculous to call people names because they do or don't like specific things. I hate open endings and I never start dramas with them, I only started this one because it is novel based so I expected the drama to follow it. Shit happens. I am glad you like this so enjoy!
