Oh and I remembered another one: Good Doctor, the Japanese version. I loved it and think it's better then the Korean version (if you don't agree that's ok).
I would really like to get into jdramas, so I hope you dont kind my asking this. But why do Japanese actors and…
Lol that's a weird question. I don't really agree with you. Idk what kinda dramas you've been watching. But I think that Jdramas have a more raw side to them. They might not always look and have as good of a "visual quality" to them (the actual drama, not necessarily the people in it) as opposed to many "clean" Kdramas/Cdramas. It's true that Jdramas might not always star the classic good looking guy as the main lead, but do we really need that? The story and the acting is the most important part. Idk if I answered the question as you wanted me to, but this is all I can say about this based on my personal knowledge. :)
If anyone would be interested in what I think are underrated Jdramas (+one movie) then here are 5 that I really enjoyed that I think deserve a higher score:
Sachiiro no One Room – Psychological (mental health), Romance, Drama. It has this vibe about it, idk how to explain it. If you've watched a lot of anime (although this sounds vague) it gives off a similar feeling. It has quite a sad vibe to it but you can feel comfort in it.
Aishite tatte, Himitsu ga Aru – Suspense, Mystery, Law, Romance, Drama. I didn't expect much when I started watching it but 17y/o Silje (me) got her mind blown that day lol ^^
Gakkou no Kaidan – Psychological, Youth, School, Drama (minimal romance). A hidden gem if you are a sad school drama lover.
Yamada Taro Monogatari – Comedy, School, Family. It's just very comedic and wholesome.
Control Tower (movie) – Music, Romance, Youth, Drama. It's very calming in a grey kinda way, if that makes sense lol. Yamazaki Kento is the male lead. It's filmed in Hokkaido which I really like and am interested in visiting someday. It gives out a sad vibe throughout the whole movie but it just feels like a warm blanket (can anyone relate? lol).
I've only seen 3 of the titles on this list: The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru and Todome no Kiss. All of them are good but I especially want to recommend Todome no Kiss, it's my favourite Jdrama. If you love time travel then you will really enjoy it! I saw you have seen Someday or One Day, I want to say that Todome no Kiss is similar yet not at the same time lol ^^; Yamazaki Kento is a really good actor (my favourite too haha). It has comedy as well as sad scenes that made me cry. It's rather short, but I kind of like that (no unnecessary scenes). Don't be intimidated by the mediocre score, from my knowlage Jdrama fans tend to be quite hard with giving scores lol, hence Jdramas have lower scores than many Kdramas and Cdramas. Anyway, give Todome no Kiss a try! You don't know if it's your cup of tea or not until you've tried it ^^
Currently watching this for the 3rd time but I'm crying just as many tears as the first time I saw it. One should definitely watch this drama more than once to appreciate it more. Take note of the little details you missed the first time, and by knowing the ending, one will feel even more emotional than the first time watching it when observing the events that take place. Someday or One Day is my all time favourite drama and it's as close to perfection I've ever seen. This is definitely not the last time I will be rewatching this drama.
Everyone's reason for disliking this drama is valid and I can't really speak on the topic of colourism and stuff because luckily I can't relate. But when it comes to changing her appearance I don't think it's as extreme as many people make it out to be. It didn't seem like she actually cared about how she looked more than a normal person would. As for "changing her appearance BECAUSE of him" I don't think it's like that. She did it to herself for herself. If it has anything to do with him it's more of an inspirational point of view I think. But this is just my opinion and I can be wrong sometimes too ok. I'm just sharing my thoughts. I just don't think that this drama is supposed to be taken seriously like that. If that's a good or bad thing, you decide.
It's the behind the scenes episodes. Here is a YouTube playlist where you can watch it :)https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLszepnkojZI6OS-a8AEDjt5fsQwum0EVD
No it's different. The other behind page on MDL is the 18 min long 1 episode video. This one is the 10 episodes one, average 6 min/episode adding up to around one hour total.
Let's not judge too much before having seen it. Instead of "what if it's another one of those" maybe think "what if it's not, what if it's good". 'Cause that's what I'm wishing for.. o.o
