This show managed to break my friend

oh boi where do I even start.
My friend and I like watching trash TV but at the end of this show she was a shell of her past self.

First of all lets start with the show implying that Kairi is only bi bc she was abused as a child. Thats not how sexuality works but okay.
Then we have Yuri finding out about this abuse and what does she do?
She tells Kairis Boss about it and when Kairis mother (who you know abused Kairi) comes to visit, Yuri lets her right in.
She even goes as far as to tell Kairi that she should try reconciling with her mom bc she clearly loves her.

This show also deals with bdsm or rather what people who have only heard about bdsm last week think bdsm is. It is a horrible representation of the community and very harmful to viewers who might not be well educated in those kinds of things.

Yuri is depicted as this innocent lamb who is just so pure. Nah shes just a conservative housewife who judges everyone that doesnt agree with her narrow worldview.

Seriously dont watch this. If you really want a trashy japanese drama to make fun of, go wacth coffe & vanilla. I didint think anything could be worse than that show but compared to yuri and another, coffe & vanilla is a masterpiece.

However if you want to lose your will to live or make a friend never wanting to wacth anything with you ever again this is the show for you.

This show has consumed me

I never particularly liked romance as a genre. This show made me realize that I just hate badly written romance. I was completely surprised how much I ended up loving this show. It had no right to be as good as it was.

Both leads go through so much character development that I was really attached to both of them at the end.
The side characters are also great they all felt very fleshed out to me.

I have seen a lot of people describe it as "your fanfiction dreams from when you were 14 come true," and honestly that's pretty accurate.

This show had me laughing and crying and I already can't wait to rewatch it again.

A masterpiece (almost) until the end

Okay everyones already complained about the ending. It sucks, theres no way around it and it made me bitter for weeks.

BUT despite that it still remains one of my favorite historical dramas. Absolute shoutout to the actress of the FL. She did an amazing job bringing her role to life. She was funny and charasmatic and I really loved every second of her.

I am very picky with my romance but I think it was developed very nicely here. Both leads had some pretty good chemistry. The humor was there during the whole show and it was a good balance to the more serious stuff. It never failed to make me laugh.

Anyhow I am not much of a reviewer so I dont know what else to say. I just want to say that despite the whack ending this show is deffintly worth your time.

It's mid

I wouldn't say that this was a bad show. The acting is fine, so is the music and the story is also good enough that I didn't feel like I was activly loosing braincells while watching.

But I think what this show struggles with the most is that it doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.
The intro (looking past how ugly it is, seriously who thought this was a good idea) suggests to me a fairly lighthearted goofy show. But then the first episode has three suicide attempts and then MC has PTSD. And these are treated seriously.
But then we also have more comedic parts. More plot heavy stuff and even some detective things.

Instead of committing to one thing it seems that the show tries to be everything at once and therefore struggles to be anything at all.

That being said I can still see how some people would enjoy this drama but it's not for me and I probably won't continue it.
