Honestly there was no romance, they cared for each other but only she liked him more than caring, he is not looking for love for reasons he didn't explain. She just kissed him at last and he didn't resist becoz he was going to leave anyway. I think that was him saying good bye to her. Although i don't mind if they end up together in future but i don't think that will happen. She isn't casted in season 2.

I can understand why da on is doing this and that's why it's more fun to watch. It's like they both have contradictory beliefs and yet they will fall for each other. This is the best. I want at least one episode of them only paying attention to each other and forgetting all this even if it's for a single day.

i would say that Missing: The Other Side 1&2 are also one of the best although they don't have romance.
