To be fair, only literally few dramas have 8,9 + rating, and there are indeed lot of good dramas rated below 8, I would say below 7,5 its likely not really good, but bot always the case, esecially with movies

that is not America style, lmao... it is melodrama after all, of course it wont be all bright, stick to Chinese dramas then, bright but for most part horrible acting and censored cheesiness... some Chinese dramas and actors are surely great, but... no match to Korean drama and movie industry...
