Do not be discouraged by the low rating here. With latest MDL trend, 7.8 is like the new 8.5The story has been…
I don't think there are MDL rating trends. The ratings are so heavily influenced by botting, haters & blind fans that the end result means literally nothing, whatever it is.
7.9??? really??? I don't understand some people they will love same type of cdrama which have simple plot comfort…
I'm watching this right now & I'm on e5. I think the issue here is that Seo In Guk seems bland and robotic even compared to typical cdrama ML acting performances, very unlike what he is normally like btw.
There is also scoring bias due to typical cdrama watchers knowing what to expect there.
And in general MDL ratings cannot be trusted at all. Some kdramas are uplifted by thousands of bot votes & some others are bombed by haters or the bots belonging to the timeslot's competing show's company.
It's not bad..it's just, very beige. If you take Love Scout and ask all the characters to be as bland as possible,…
I think Love Scout is very different, other than it also being about corporate droning.
My similar -but perhaps more fitting- pick would be A Piece of Your Mind, which is also about recovering from a lost relationship in a way that is somewhat similar, but way more vibey and not bland. Probably I should just watch it again..
What bullcrap!! How tf is being part of a cult remotely close to being a pedo? Tom has not gRAPED or trashed anyone…
I agree that if he has indeed bonked a 17yo at his age that is quite deplorable & against the law, BUT THERE IS NO WAY FOR YOU A RANDOM PERSON ON THE INTERNET to actually know if it actually happened, this is what we have the courts for. Yes, courts occasionally err, but they are still better on average than netizens. In this case there are conflicting narratives in a society where even supposedly grieving parents are known to occasionally do absolutely anything for free money. (as a non Asian most people wouldn't understand this)
However speaking of education, this is not pedophilia, being a pedo is all about being attracted to prepubescent children. The term you were looking for is maybe ephebophilia, but it's not a well known word, because most men can be attracted by a pretty 17 yo if they pretend to be 20. Knowing it's wrong & ignoring that natural biological attraction is what makes you a law abiding normal non sociopathic member of society.
crazy today the world work on reverse. In my world it used to be innocent until proven guilty. that's a shame…
Not saying it's right, but in Korean society high school bullying is so commonplace that probably over 50% participated in it at least once in their life. So watching a production that has no -former- bullies in it is kind of impossible.
He could be trash, he could not be trash, there is literally no way to know at this point. However we do know that Tom Cruise is a member of the cult that is the church of Scientology, if he is not cancelled, why would Kim Soo Hyun need to be cancelled. Might as well enjoy the art not the artist, right?
How unearned money is treated on Korean TV is basically self censorship & is always treated like this. Thank you for the review, I'll pass on this drama after reading it.
I'm sure there will be more of it, but I'd be surprised if the romance turned out to be better. Two men are on…
I would be willing to bet 10% of my net worth that in the Korean version that character will be way way way more extreme, with more screen time & the usual love triangle crap.
Why Shorter Formats Are Failing CreativelyThe "Rushed Ending" Syndrome: The single biggest complaint from…
In my experience after watching 100+ kdramas -the majority of them in the old 16 epi format- it does not matter what the format is. Most kdrama writers will completely escalate the plot near the final episode whether that starts in episode 10-11, 14-15, or 97-98 doesn't matter, the ending most of the time will be rushed with the plot lines poorly resolved. Why are the endings often so bad? It's because there is no financial incentive to care & it's not even just the writers, often the editing & acting is of a lower quality too in the finale.
Knetz love cancelling shows & people, but no writer has ever been cancelled for not wrapping up their show properly. As long as the audience shows up for the finale & watches all the ads, the drama is a success, there is no incentive to make them feel good about it. Or rather the industry as a whole should care, but they don't, that is one big reason why cdramas are gaining so much traction, despite their lack of emotional impact & stupid dubbing. Cdramas are always preproduced & the quality of the ending is important during the censorship pass.
I enjoyed the office politics in the original but unfortunately the romance fell flat. They had almost zero physical…
I'm sure there will be more of it, but I'd be surprised if the romance turned out to be better. Two men are on the poster & we have the second lead man in the casting list that has not been present in the original. It seems clear to me what the Korean production team wants to do.
There is also scoring bias due to typical cdrama watchers knowing what to expect there.
