I think it's the opposite. This is something that a makjang loving Korean demographic could potentially like far more than western audiences.
Yes sitcoms with frequent/early breakups do work in the west, but the the delivery is completely different, there is far less emotional attachment etc..

I'm at e11 right now and I agree that the triangle seems ehm not the worst, but the plot devices used to have kept it going till now are quite annoying. She knows she doesn't want to be with him, she knows she is being pursued, it's not difficult really, "I don't like your smell, I don't like your voice & you are ugly, leave me alone!", done.

That's a fairly accurate assessment in the sense that HR does not exists in the same form.

How is the triangle situation in this one?

I'm getting used to ignoring those "it was a dream" shenanigans, it's meant for the censors' ears anyway.

I avoid shows with triangles as well, but sometimes people in the comments tell me that the love triangle is weak yada yada & then I still run into three way handgrabs, fistfights, hesitating FLs etc. In this one she has a secondary love interest that did pretty much nothing beyond wasting screen time of course.

I agree, but as far as kdrama triangles go it was still relatively tame.

Because corporate suits don't understand why Korean dramas are good, they just want to milk the successful shows to the max.

After 25 it's fun again & I fully expect that to persist till the closing credits now. There was zero corporate stuff 4 episodes in a row.

Okay I guess I cursed it. Episodes 23-24 are complete trash & there is a lot of ridiculous corporate stuff.

I don't disagree with that & and the second half of ep22 also had some annoying business related things, but compared to something like I don't know "Love is Sweet", or your average Korean office comedy this is barely a corporate drama so far.

I'm on ep22 right now & up until this point there has been barely any of that, but rather it's mostly fluff and comedy. Though the sh*t will inevitably hit the fan soon, so I'm expecting some corporate drama any minute.

Yeah, but in Korean shooting stars are called pooping stars. It's not the worst wordplay I have ever seen, I guess.
