omg 😭😭😭😭 I didn't know it was only 36 episodes. I was sitting in delulu thinking I had 4 more for…
lol! Idea is that he now trusts her when she told him she’s coming back (as contrasted to beginning when he didn’t trust anyone). Sadly, we don’t get to see it.
On ep. 21 but does it get any better??? This is sadly another Liu Sue Yi drama that I am comtemplating on dropping…
I watched it til the end… this drama is a bit less action focused imo. More happens in their conversations. The buildup is slow and steady to the end and then action occurs in the last few eps. I kept thinking how is he going to go forward with his plan. What is his plan? What’s going to happen? Is he going to destroy the world? How is she going to not fall in love with him because she clearly is. Why is nothing happening to her as she is growing for him? When is this crazy Hanna gonna get her end? Why is the selfish fox leader still around? I’m so used to watching xianxias with powerful all knowing heavenly realm leaders (think LBFAD), this was so different with them kinda like every other group and not knowing.
Even with the push and pull between them I realized that he was falling for her too (not as obvious). Like, he was withholding feeding last weapon spirit gold because he was having second thoughts about destroying the world.
But I get you, everything feels like it needs more “umph”. I feel like this drama has a more contemplative cerebral vibe. I had to think a bit more about the meaning of the ending cause it was trying to imply a happy ending. Throughout the whole story his biggest struggle is TRUST (especially her) and at the end, he was willing to TRUST even if he (and we) couldn’t see her.
All great scenes. I was really touched by the scene by the tree with her last words comforting him and him crying. What a complex emotion to portray. Knew she wasn’t gonna make it but trying not to focus on that. Loving her so much.
Am I the only one that think costumes here is pretty and at least on par with the costumes in Love of a Thousand…
With the plethora of dramas, first impressions counts a lot. I didn’t like the visuals at the beginning myself but continued because of that depth of the story. It’s unique and deadpan funny. the visuals did seem to improve over time or maybe I got used to them.
Some things I just don't understand:After the ML summoned the meteors, why does almost no one mention anything…
All good questions. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the underdeveloped parts may have to do with censorship and/or the 40 ep limit.
As for travel between the realms, I vaguely remember something happened that allowed it b/c his struck by lightning buddy was able to ascend to the immortal realm as well.
As for the oath, I wonder whether someone with more authority forced it b/c I agree it didn’t seem consistent with the rest of the story’s vibe.
Ending - maybe they wanted to cater to the masses.
For those still contemplating whether to watch this drama, avenue X posted a fairly accurate review of pros/cons. I enjoyed it despite the cons (like it better than that last revenge one of his Love Me Kill Me?) Will probably rewatch to analyze more of the philosophical themes on mankind.
I can see how this is not a popular drama - not a romance drama with young beautiful actors. It’s a shame because th actors are really good and gorgeous. I cannot believe their real ages. They look so young!
On ep 5 and enjoying it lots. Love Qiao Yang‘s personality. She’s very confident but not arrogant. Fierce advocate for patients. So funny seeing how Lu Zi You is so smitten by her.
I was so busy and only now i retook from ep 06, now i am on ep 16, i skipped so mnay scenes of MLs. It is a bit…
Oh no… this drama is very philosophical. A lot of what’s going on is in all the talk. Also funny too. Othwise, it’ll appear boring because you missed everything
