Why is no one's hating on Sanha's uncle. Annoying selfish jerk! Yeah! Give all responsibility to a child!
Probably cause he's just a human prop as a character.

In OG pretty much similar, we don't really see him after since the point is for ML to take care of his mum. The uncle thus became someone as forgettable when it comes to the main plot.

one thing i noticed while rewatching go ahead while waiting for more episodes is that they call them dad like…
Yes, agree to both points. I think Korean doesn't have that culture to address someone else as Dad like Yun Appa or Kim Appa. It's not very natural and normal as compared to Chinese calling someone else Dad with their surname in front like Li Ba or Ling Ba.

And the setting of this drama indeed sets San Ha to have feelings for Ju Won early and more naturally like a neighbour upstairs whom grew up together so the use of Ahjussi sets some form of distance in their relationship for the leads to fall in love and be together

Heard that there will be China-Thai collab for S2.

Why? 😢

No offence, but with Thai production really sucks. If a S2 is gonna happen without the same cast but with new cast and it's highly not gonna be a good job, would it have been better to just stay with no S2 and let it all continue to be a sweet dream and not turn it into nightmare?

If you want to watch something lighter and at a more reasonable pace due to life commitment, watch this adaptation. If…
Go Ahead:
- More depth of Backstory for each characters (even for side characters): super impactful to make you feel if you were in their shoes
- He Ziqiu (Child) is best kid in the world.
- He Ziqiu (Adult) acts super well but might not be your Stan.
- Ling Xiao (Adult) might be your Stan
- All 3 "siblings" have their own story and wounds you will empathise if you watch from start to the end.
- Not much of romantic feels at the start until become working adults.

Family by Choice:
- Very similar vibe of FL's Father and Mother of ML1. Actor and Actress for both roles did well to portray what was in the OG that isn't lost in the adaptation.
- The 3 siblings are much closer and relatable in the "Siblings vibe" despite OG acted very well on their respective roles. It may have to do with how the actor and actress look that can't be helped even when they acted fantastically.
- On the much sweeter and romantic side from the start due to how the story focus only on some main points but with less depth. Have some kind of hidden romantic side showing up even when not yet working adult.
- FL has a different personality from the OG (which is why it wouldn't be the same, and you should watch both and not compare what it should have been or what it should be. This drama seems to want to use a different plot point despite having use of some of the OG characteristics, but not everything. Which is why there will be freshness)
- ML1 (Child) is the most pitiful kid here whereas ML2 (Child) is the one in OG
- ML2 (Adult) is my Stan here whereas ML1 (Adult) is my stan in the OG.

This is just some of the few things and I avoid writing the exact plot points specifically in detail for both dramas to avoid spoiling the mood the drama wants you to have when watching it. (e.g. ML2's backstory in detail)

If you actually watch it, you will understand what I am referring to. Just enjoy both. The Chinese OG is indeed a Masterpiece but pacing is somewhat slower to some people's liking and some people may not like the cast (which I agree can affect how you view the drama), but the actors and actresses really did portray their characters well, even their child version.

Give both drama a try. They are good in their own ways but I have to admit, this drama lacks the main plot points the OG gave but I am sure the main point of that adaptation is not to create the same experience. Look out for the freshness and original side of story they adapted that is different from the OG and both are great dramas. Enjoy!

If you want to watch something lighter and at a more reasonable pace due to life commitment, watch this adaptation.

If you are okay with watching something much heavy and slow, watch Go Ahead, patiently.

But I would recommend watching both especially if you like this drama. Why? Because there's something in the OG that this drama lacks, and there's also something in this drama that the OG doesn't have. Adaptations can't be 1 for 1 the same if not there's really no point since it's like just changing actors/actress and the default language. But to do it shorter so that the drama can easily be picked up and finished has its own cons, but there's also a reason why the OG had so many episodes that it could be overwhelming for some due to the pacing. The scenes had their own reasons and the pacing justified why it was such a long run drama for the OG.

Both have obvious Similarity and Differences, even if the drama didn't specifically tell you it's based on the Chinese drama, this drama itself you can easily tell when you have watched it unless you didn't watch the OG so you probably wouldn't know.

But here's why I feel people who picked up and watch either adaptation(s), should watch the other and not be so quick to criticise. Spoilers on my reply.

This ain't really so much of a BL, but depicts the story of the life of a gay man. Many realistic parts of life…
And also, HIV is a permanent scar

It's not easy to have someone able to accept the way you are because of the mistake you make. Will you choose to hinder the love of your life's career because of your HIV or will you choose to let them go?

Since things already happened, it's also how you decide to live with it and move on with your life. Safe sex always, and don't just trust anyone you know that easily even if they are someone you are dating

This ain't really so much of a BL, but depicts the story of the life of a gay man. Many realistic parts of life piece together in 1 for the background of a main character, whom happen to be gay.

Learning to be happy single ain't a sad ending imo.

Chasing love, learning how to love and mistakes made that cause permanent scars etc. are part of life. Not everyone will have a partner that they can spend the rest of their lives with, and even in a very long term relationship, people do come and go. Sometimes choosing to let go is also part of love.

There will be regrets and memories that you greatly missed, but choices are made. Learning how to move on and cope with loneliness without constantly finding someone to have fun is also part of personal growth.

I didnt binge watch either. Just like 1 of the comment below, I find the drama less bearable to watch after Mi Ae married and "left". But still try to finish this lol.

Look out for the scene where Go Young and this friend were doing 💐.

I have watched finish and I overall do enjoy it.

In the beginning it seems weak but once you watch finish, you will get it

The reason is because the timeline wise they do recall, then go to present, and recall back to the past again. It seems a little messy, but I get their intention to create that impact. The main story is actually quite a masterpiece.

Alot of questions you may have will get to be answered near the end.
