I watched over 100+ BL drama and these are my ratings over 9+South Korea 🇰🇷 1. The Director Who Buys Me…
Thank you, I am surprised SOTUS didn't make I to your list. It's one of the old Thai BL I enjoyed before I gave up on Thai BL. Cringey and bad script along with amateur acting. KinnPorsche I did watch and it was not bad. It would have been better if they get to follow the first trailer though, but too bad things happened
Okay so the director said he'll give lots of "kisses and touches" in season 2 so all of y'all thirsty people who…
That will be really funny, cause the real action comes from the actors
Even naked ass scenes running this season can't make these people satisfied, but I believed the effort made by the actors wouldn't disappoint if they already willing to do that in season 1
Can you elaborate on the 1st point? I've been following the comments here in the recent days, but haven't seen…
I wouldn't say your response is negativity, it's a very well thought out concern which I generally actually agree.
But which drama doesn't have private watchers? Compared to those, I believed this one hits towards more audiences. In a law of large numbers, this means that there are more private watchers as well as more paying watchers.
The director specifically pointed out that if Season 1 ends with happy ending then but do we watch for in Season 2? I'm sure there are some of certainty and assurance that season 2 will happen based on his confidence.
I do agree that it's better to be backed up by the stats and figures needed such as funds for season 2 to be able to happen than through just words of mouth.
This drama is a global hit, it's nothing like "First Note of Love" which is currently still airing and also from Taiwan. The audiences are relatively small group compared to this though, so I do have a leap of faith on the directors ' words regarding on Season 2.
I think you have the right questions asked, ever thought of asking that directly to the director to get an answer? I'm not so sure on how to reach out to the director to get a response but I doubt he will specifically address this even if he already might have secured the funding until someone pop the question.
Can you elaborate on the 1st point? I've been following the comments here in the recent days, but haven't seen…
Well, tbh they haven't filmed for 2nd season when season 1 ended, so all these preparations, schedules and all also will require some time.
I believed keep the faith is for us to wait patiently with the hope that we will see it as the director and his casts also need to work on their time, resources etc. to make the 2nd season happen.
Since this wasn't produced by China although the original novel rights belong to a Chinese, it shouldn't be ban and hence season 2 will eventually happen. It's just a matter of time once they get to fix a schedule and have the resources to start filming.
1. Do you have a link to where a S2 is confirmed? I read an interview with the director, who said there's no funding…
1. I replied to someone above the Director's IG. Go and have a look.
2. I am personally fine with both slow pace or fast pace, I appreciate good story and script wise. I might have missed out on the interview video part, but before getting into something, more research can be done if you wanna avoid disappointment. At least I know there were people who knew this season won't end a "Happy" ending because they know where the Novel is heading and the Director also did mention that he is planning on Season 2 if the reception for the show is good etc. No promises at that point however but up to individual to watch till the end.
3. The purpose of this comment is because there are too overly negative toned comment about it. I don't see how my comment is "correct", I am just pointing out on facts based on reality. If 8.4 is the rating here and you think it's high as you rate it low, it just means there are more on average who rate it higher as they like the drama for example. If you think it's a bad drama, then of course, you are free to write a negative review, I never said one cannot do so because the answer to this drama is only a good drama. There are some bad points about the drama imo too. I am just stating points based on reasons and logic while you're here seemingly emotionally affected as if I say you can't have negative review about this drama. If it's bad, you can always write based on rational reason why it's bad as people can/will understand, but there are insulting ones that ain't necessary which is why I have a point 3.
Can you elaborate on the 1st point? I've been following the comments here in the recent days, but haven't seen…
Director IG: @pat3liu
Have a look at the first pinned stories that has the Chinese name of this drama on his IG.
One of the story will let you know that "Season 2 will happen" mentioned by the Director himself. It's in English so no worries if you can't read the rest of the stories, just remember to look through all the stories compiled in this pin.
I know some people don't have the habit to read on past comments here so here are a few important points:
1. Season 2 is confirmed coming. This drama was made with Season 2 on the works depending on the drama's reception. And it's finally happening thanks to all the people who like it 🥰 so don't be so sad or angry yeah?
2. This drama is based on a Novel, whether you want to understand or not, this is a fact that can't be changed. You should have known before watching if the level of romance and/or intimacy are not enough for you. Reading the Novel should have known this love story is relatively slow paced. It's not meant for everybody. 🤔
3. If you like this drama, do give a good rating. If you don't like, that's fine too. But remember, everyone's taste is different. There is no need to comment as if only your opinion and rating is the one that is correct if you find this overrated or too high in rating to your liking. 👍🏻 It's likely on average that there are more people who like this drama and are awaiting for Season 2.
Something feels off. Some people say according to skam, Do Ha should be the boyfriend Mi Na's referring to, but when Do Ha was treating the girls drinks, I remember Mi Na didn't have a very big reaction about it. Wouldn't it feels weird to do so in Mi Na's POV for Do Ha to treat drinks for Ji Yu compared to if Do Ha were to treat Mi Na's friends drinks because he is her boyfriend?
While it's BL, there's never something that suits/fits everyone taste.
Some people say they don't understand why the rating for this drama to be that high, it's OK. Just remember, there are probably alot more whom enjoyed this because they are OK with it based on a novel. If it's not OK for you, that's fine. Respect everyone's opinion and their respective rating, no one's absolute.
I just finish watching "Stay With Me" and I would say the OG adaptation "Addicted" is still the best. Don't get me wrong, do continue to read on.
That drama also have one of the greatest impact in BL history as this is one of the pioneer works of China BL that hit internationally. Not the first BL that was made I believed, but definitely one of the first that opened up horizons.
Yes, that Addicted adaptation wasn't fully released due to Homophobia China but I know it would have been a great pull off due to how daring Johnny was able to act in this. Timmy wasn't bad also, but Johnny's role as Gu Hai was very physical. I thought this drama was at least a decade year old due as far as I thought it's been quite long since the unfortunate incident happened where both of them weren't able to appear on screen together anymore and the remaining of this drama release being halted permanently.
Thanks to Stay with Me, I'm reminded of that OG. Both adaptations have obvious Similarity and Differences. They are both great, but that drama probably got a lower rating due to being unfinished. It's a pity, but I'm surprised that Johnny don't differ so much after all these years as I watched his latest drama "The First Shot". He is such a great actor since such a young age and it took me quite a while to actually realised that since I am not someone who follow all of the work of a particular actor.
I am glad that there are still parts of China willing to try and push their boundary despite knowing such a ban incident that was one of the greatest known in BL history. I would say Stay with Me is also lacking in some scenes progression as there are awkward cuts but at least the story is much more complete. While both ML in SwM doesn't have that kind of epic physical moment compared to this OG, but I was surprised to still manage to see kiss on the cheek between both ML. Political side of China probably would have gone crazy finding out about it since SwM wasn't released locally I heard. While it's not much, but it is a very impactful moment of attempt as this can still be sensitive among the Homophobia. I am glad the world gets to be more open minded through time. While there are still alot of Homophobias, but there are also alot of Allies. There are many children involved in SwM and I believed they would be part of the better world for BL acceptance since they (or their real life parents) are willing to be part of this drama genre.
I hope all the Homophobias die early and may the world be a better place. I also hope Political China will gradually cease and be like Taiwan in direction eventually.
Some actors start to gain more fame through such genre of work so I hope they keep it up. It shows that there are so many of us, be it actual gays/lesbians/allies/tsundere whom are in support of such genre. For actors to gain more fame through such genre as compared to when they film "normal" boy-girl relationship drama, there must have been some sort of "magic".
I believed in magical miracle. Things will get better with time. While OG "Addicted" drama may have died, but I know that there are still many similar things based on such BL experience that still stays alive in our hearts. Stay with Me is a very good recent modern example. As parts of China doesn't give up, I will be rooting for them to help open up Political China horizon once again, no matter how much time they need to take, as long as they don't give up, I will give support. We will be the new normal.
Why? Because both ML Actors of SwM still get to appear together in China recently unlike what happened to Johnny and Timmy back then. There is still hope and I am willing to wait as long as that side of China continue to produce more and don't give up

I've watched Stay With Me, The On1y One, First Note of Love
Bromance kind I've watched The Spirealm. Healer and Killer I find it hard to continue as the plot's not for me.
Appreciate responses, thank you
I got hooked due to the initial trailer
Tbh, I also enjoy having Benny and Zhao xi's screen time in this drama as I fall for the side characters instead of just being about just JT and SW.
