I mean she went there for serial cat killings not humans. And she thought it was a single person and not the whole residence, she later came to the conclusion it was all of them because her dad theorized so.

This series is definitely a mixture of the Japanese mangas Tenkuu Shinpan, Mirai Nikki and Btooom.
