I don't think having people say "well, it's his first time" or "he's a freshman" or "he WILL evetually improve" is what shows are or should be aiming for though.

He might've been well off in a fluffy slice of life drama, but this show with such a heavy plot was too much for him.
I don't doubt that he tried his best, but that unfortunately wasn't enough. And at least I can't enjoy the show as much as I'd love too because of it. And apparently I'm not the only one. And that's really unfortuante.

And no, it's not disrespect if someone points out that he IS in fact still lacking acting skills. It's a fact. He'll get there. Probably. But this show simply was too early for him.

The drama itself is amazing, so are the actors & characters. EXCEPT for that sister. Serious question: Is she mentally ill? Her constant whining is unbearble. I even jump through some actually good scenes, bc she's also in it and driving me literally insane!

The only problem is... next to him Pooh's lack of decent acting skills is so clear to see. This rescue scene was horrible. I acted more emotional when UPS drove off with my package x) buts srsly, that's such a massive bummer :(

That was such a cingy rescue scene. Where was the anger? The feelings? The emotions?
I know Pooh's acting skills are in no way on the same level as Pavel's, but seriously... couldn't they shoot that scene again?!
I acted angrier when my sister ate my last christmas chocolate 😅

Yaaah, sorry x) I for one really hope Pavel gets a new partner. At the very least until Pooh caught up to him. Whatever one thinks of Poohs acting, the difference between those two is too big for Pooh's good, since it highlightens his inexperience a lot.

Again, glad you enjoy it & please keep doing so, but to me the whole show is like wasted potential (I know sounds hard, but it could've been close-ish to a KinnPorsche level... but not like this).

Just wished Pooh's acting would also improve. There's a constant lack of energy in my eyes. Like the rescue scene. Yell at Way and don't almost softly call his name. Move with more intent. There could've been such a breathtaking moment, but it ended a little on the cringe side :(

Nono, glad you do enjoy it. Really. It just reads like you miss my point a little. I get he's inexperienced, I do, but so is Pavel and he's doing excellent. But that is also beside the point, bc everyone is different.

I just don't think it should be our go-to to find excuses or let's say explanations when an actor isn't really good (...yet or "nor yet"), bc ultimately that means the project was too big for him or her at this point of their career.

Moments like when Charlie saved Babe just make it so painfully obvious to me that that's the case. The moment could've been so good (like when Kinn saved Porsche from Vegas - chills!), but even the way "Charlie" called Way doesn't really sound like yelling, more like a soft call. Which takes so much from the intense moment and that's such a bummer, since you can easily picture how good it could've been! But alas...

BUT since it's decent enough, like you said, to make you happy, that's good and I'm glad you can fully enjoy it :)

Of course it's a challenge. Every show always is. But in this case it didn't work out :/ the challenge was too much for him or came too early, so to speak.
And also no, the issue really isn't his young look (though it sure doesn't help either).

I know unpopular opinion and a lot of you will feel the need to jump in to defend him, but Pooh's acting's still pulling me out of the story.

Yes, he's young, yes, it's his first big series, yes, there's plenty of time left too improve for future projects, for sure, but also no, I don't mean Charlie's quirky, nerdy, "insecure" side of his personality, I can differentiate between the role & the acting skills and Pooh's aren't really there yet (especially next to Pavel, who's acting is so good!). I think they'd be ideal for a very fluffy, sweet story, but not for a plot like Pit Babe.

I'm honestly glad if you disagree, bc that means you can fully enjoy every scene with him, but it keeps bothering ME.
Also yes, I could just stop watching, but the plot itself & the other actor's are great and keep me invested.

Maybe it would somewhat be good (the plot - tho def. not perfect - is really exciting!!), but most of their acting (esp. Guy/Ping's) was soooo cringy and it all is done so low budget that I can't take it serious. (The acting might improve over time, they're still young - another issue. Such plots simply work better with older looking guys for me).

Nooo damn. Haven't even started the show yet (since I wanted to be able to watch a few episodes at once), but that's exactly what I feared after the few snippets I saw.

But otherwise watch HIStory: Close to You. But also the first couple is GOALS like few have ever been :D the other... not so much, I skipped most of it tbh xD But LiCheng & MuRen... for real, they're IT! Their chemistry! And said 2nd couple from this show will have an amazing cameo in CtY as well <3 and: Happy Ends all around!

thank you! completely agree. I'm still surprised I watched it all and still surprised it was so successfull. I liked bits & pieces and esp. the 2nd couple, but the juvenile acting of the two "tops" was way over the top, even tho it got better later in the show.
Ppl who behave like that are usually aroung 11 years old and not fit for romatic relationships xD

Btw LOVED that we saw the 2nd couple again in "Close to You" (esp since all the juvenile acting finally disappeared), even tho their part was very small. Wished they'd get their own season.

okaaay, so TLT is season 1 and TLT2 is season 2 and then there's another TLT2 but with the addition of "Explore the Note", which is season 3?!
Is that correct? Can't be... is it xD?!

Oh I meant the storyline. And I thought The Lost Tomb & The Lost Tomb 2 were season 1 and 2 xD but those and 2 & 3, right? And The Mystic Nine season 1?! (at least that's what I read in a different comment)

15?? So half the show -.- well that's a downer for sure... now I even feel like skipping thru the first 15 episodes tbh. Probably will do x)
