On Love Is a Poison Nov 15, 2024
OmG I usually have my problems with starting a new series, but this!? I love it! I love the actors, their chemistry, their roles, the mix of comedy, fluff and action! MOOORE :D

I mean, since the Thai version was very successfull and liked by many, a remake ...or new interpretation by anyone, be it a different Thai agency or another country, was bound to have crazy critics. It's always like that. Kinda sad actually.
[Like Rings of Power, even before even ONE actor was announced ppl already went berserk (guys, don't watch it if the mere idea is for some reason insulting you).]

But so far... I like it. Yes I do loooove the Thai version, but this is a new way of telling the story, the acting and pace is typical for a Japanese production, you either like or not, the actors a decent and it's fun! I like that it's not completely copy paste. It has its own charme. And for those saying this or that is cringe, let's be real, the Thai version is everything but free of cringe moments =D

Just stop comparing and enjoy :)

Title Love in the Big City Spoiler
I watched the European premiere tonight.

Just saw the movie and loved it!
Thought the series is a continuation of the movie, but the names are different? No Koo Jae Hui, no Jang Heung Su? I'm confused. Can someone enlighten me?

Wait. So the movie concentrates on the GIRL? -.- meeeh, I just bought tickets and this kills a big part of the excitement. Hoped & act was sure it would concentrate on Heung Soo (and that's why Korean conservatives are making such a fuss -.-). Meeeeeeeh.

No idea who it is, but either I don't fancy the role Bai Zong Yi or the actor Taro Lin. It's decent, I give you that, but sth is off for me. He only ever has one look on his face, interrupted by a few smiles, like he's constantly in a trance 🙈

And they're sweet together, but at the same time I don't feel the chemistry and have no idea why they both fell in love with the other (maybe bc everything was way too rushed). Weird mix, don't understand it myself.

Hope noone agrees tho, so it's just a bummer to me ^^ but ultimately it was one of the better BLs for sure.

am i the only one who got bored watching this? They shouldnt have made a prequel, they should have made a spin-off…
YES, couldn't agree more. I usually dislike Prequels. Once seen something I want to know how it continues, not how it started. At least not in length and details. Like you said, glimpses of the past would've been enough.

I had no idea this was a prequel until I came here to rate it. Does anyone know if the show they were originally…
Very good. My favorite Korean BL so far (tho for some odd reason I haven't seen Semantic Error yet) and even one of my favorite BLs at all <3
