Commuting to School Series: On the Way to School

This review may contain spoilers
The second movie of the commuting to school series has some of the characters of the first movie in as side stories, but the main story is all fresh and cute. The romance, a classic shool romance between two young students about to become adults, is nicely blended with some growing up and coming of age problems and anxieties, but those do not steal it's thunder. The love story is cute and sweet, though it gets a little cheesy in the end. But still, if you want to feel those butterflies on you belly, this is the movie for you (fair warning, do not expect too original scenario and too much of this movie. It's just a good one to spent your afternoon...)Have to admit that I've watched this one first and then picked up the first one, so I was a bit confused about the relationships between the characters. So, word of advise, watch the first film first!! Plus, there are some spoilers on what will happen to the couple in the first movie, so this film will probably ruin it for you.
So, 6 out of 10.

Japanese Drama '' Living No Matsunaga-san '' is a romantic comedy drama. The start of the series is smooth and enjoyable, as we get to know the characters and their situation. The dynamics are there and the mood is light and fluff.
But, as the drama progresses, things get a bit on the odd side. The main couple was somehow off, and not just because of their age difference, but due to the fact that he was acting as a father figure and she was way too young to be making important life decisions, hence, that twist in the end was a bit off. Also, the most frustrating part was the ex subplot, that was way too weird, as she was the girl's teacher and the guy's ex, thus, it was bizarre for her to be hyping up the relationship as she did.
Finally, the second couple was cute, but they hardly had any moments together.
As for the performances, they were okay.
So, overall, three out of ten.

Good Enough
Japanese Drama '' Eye Love You '' is a fantasy-office romance with a cute couple, but a messy fantasy story.First of all, the love story was enjoyable. The couple had chemistry, which aided the drama a lot, and the comical misunderstandings were cute. The second couple was entertaining as well.
The office drama was also nice and the relationship between father and daughter was so sweet!
However, the fantasy element was all over the place. The drama seemed to forget about it for most of the series' length, and then, they tried to add some melodrama to it towards the ending, but they only ended up mishandling the whole affair.
Finally, the performances were great by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Korean Drama " May I Help You " is a fantasy romantic comedy. The story has some lightness to it, even though it handles more sensitive matters as well as some emotional cases. Unfortunately, the pacing of the story is all over the place, failing to introduce properly the story in the first episodes and then getting slower and slower towards the ending.
In addition, the main plot was boring. The love story was predictable and the chemistry just okay, which didn't aid to the romance at all. The friendship was nice though.
Finally, the performances were all enjoyable and decent from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, two out of ten.

Korean Drama "Thirty-Nine" is a drama about three friends and their year while being thirty nine, when tragedy strikes. The viewer knows right from the start that one of the leads is going to die. A fact that makes the story even more dramatic and bittersweet, as the friends are trying to come to terms with what is about to happen. Their love stories are another part of the story, even though they were the drama's weakest point, as they were cheesy and obvious.
The drama got boring and predictable towards the ending as well. One would have anticipated that the emotional level will keep rising to hit its peak in the end, but the drama just got tiring to watch, with the ending losing its emotional impact due to that.
As for the performances, they were all great as it's expected from a star-packed cast.
So, overall, four out of ten.

Good Enough
Korean Drama "Dali and the cocky prince" is a drama that nails it when it comes to esthetics. Everything was beautiful, from the paintings to the costumes, which were especially tasteful. The performances were great too, with the two main leads delightful to watch, with plenty of funny scenes and a smooth chemistry between them that sparked right from the start. However, the drama did not offer anything new. Rather, and especially after the first half, things got predictable and boring. The drama used many cliche, and the love triangle was stale and lacked the dynamics that it should have had, considering its setting. The romance had a great pace at first, but it started rushing things after a while. The side characters were enjoyable though.
So, overall, 6 out of 10.

Good Enough
Chinese Drama 'Word of Honor' was interesting at first, quickly, however, changed sides. The drama starts strong, with the introduction to the world, the mystery in hand, the political powers as well as the characters. The mystery element was pretty intriguing and even the villains seemed twisty and shady. However, after the first part, the drama took a more domestic turn, opting for a slice of life focus, forgetting about the matter in hand, adding a few specs of the characters' past here and there and pretty much letting them play little house on the prairie for a big chank of time. The villains were toned down too, and the main one was simply too tamed to be that horrific bad guy who will keep things interesting. The ending, finally, was rushed, but emotional, especially since the second couple was the main source of entertainment in the second half.
So, overall, 5.5 out of 10.

Good Enough
Korean Drama ' My Roommate is a Gumiho ' has a strong start, but gets tedious after a while. Actually, the only thing that kept things interesting on the second half was the second couple, which was adorable. Other than that, the twists were repeatable, the ending unoriginal and the whole gumiho story boring and wasn't expended enough to have a proper worldbuilt, even though there was a lot of material to work with.Nevertheless, the first half was pretty great. The comedy was entertaining, the characters cute and likable, they had chemistry and the cohabitation was spot on. Also, another nice point was that the girl's behavior towards the gumiho was kind of realistic, as she didn't play it up and become the hero and oppose everything. Rather, she knew with whom she was dealing with and she knew where she stood until she got to know him enough to be more friendly with him. So, that was a nice touch and refreshing. But, it should be pointed out that even though the leading lady did a great job with her performance, her character was given too many comedy aspects to make her a caricature more often than not. The male lead was also enjoyable, funny, quiet and sweet. The second lead had potential, but the love triangle was a dead end to begin with.
So, overall, five out of ten.
