There are few movies adapted by manga that can pull of the whole action thrill. And this one nails it. The game, probably a bit odd for those of us who don't know it, doesn't appeal much at first. But, somehow, the movie manages to present it as thrilling as any other sports game. The action is packed and the team dynamics perfect. However, the movie centres around the game, which means that its sole focus is that and other parts of the movie, such as the romance and the friendship that faced some hardships, were overlooked. There were some hints here and there, but they are not sufficient enough to complete the picture of what happened in the past. That said, in addition, the film doesn't really present its characters personalities and unique colours in depth. Finally, the performances were good and the movie, overall, enjoyable.

My main problem with this movie was the love story. Though in the description, the whole background drama sounded intriguing, the final result was more like a girl is pushing the situation way too much as the boy clearly had some intimacy issues. I wish there was a better representation of how he felt and his actual character, but the movie focused on the girl and her feelings, as well as the minor love triangle. Other than that, the movie was okay. The first half was enjoyable, but the second half was kind of boring. The girl was lovable and the leading lady performed very well. I am not sure about the leading man's performance, maybe it was the script that didn't help him or his character was not easy to be presented. Finally, the ending was a bit to rough, as the way it is leading you to watch the second movie is a bit awkward. So, 4 out of 10.

Kill me, heal me is an odd drama, in every way. First of all, it has an odd story that goes deeper and deeper, with plots and twists and more personalities jumping up from everywhere. And then there is the fact that unlike most dramas that start strong and then they flop towards the ending, this one starts badly and has a strong ending (wow talking about an odd drama!!) Okay, this one reminded me of the good old days when I was watching She was pretty and the entertainer (same actors, all favourites of mine!!). The story also brought back memories of the drama It's okay, it's love, though the later was dealing with mental health issues better and more in depth, even though Kill me, heal me deals more with children abuse. The story is nice, with a guy who has several personalities, all different (even a seventeen old girl!) who hires a personal doctor to help him keep them under control and not get caught by his family. In the meantime, the background story of them both is being revealed. The performances were on the point and really great, especially from the lead actor, who was amazing with changing his personality from a suicidal teen to a bad boy adventurer. The soundtrack was nice, but the same song kept playing over and over and it started getting annoying in the end. Plus the romance was weak, but the drama focused on the background story more than the romance so it was okay to not have the strong love story. I'm not sure if there was a love triangle in this one though it would have been unnecessary if there was. But only because it got boring in the middle and the beginning was weak, I'll rate this one 5 out of 10.

I was looking forward to this drama, as it is based on a good manga and the lead actor is one of my favourites. However, it didn't progress as good as expected. The first episodes were really good, with the romance developing in slow tempo and the drama being highlighted with the struggles of the inspiring students who want to debut as a band. However, the drama started falling apart after the first half. The romance was not as strong, as the guy constantly made the girl cry, and the girl simply and very idiotically, for me at least, kept coming back. There as a nice love triangle, that, again, couldn't be developed because clearly the girl was obsessed over her first love interest. The performances were okay, but not as good as they could have been, and the songs were nice. So, 4 out of 10.

The first half of this drama was really good. The second half, however, gets a little tiring and boring. The twists are obvious and not interesting, the love triangle is seriously weak and the romance gets a little held back by so many events and eventually, loses its power and gets boring as well. Other than that, the drama as a whole was funny, especially the times when the guy acted like an old man, had some interesting parts and the performances were good, though I would have preferred the leading lady to have acted more active when pretending to be happy (she smiled, but her eyes were boring). So, 4.5 out of 10.

The best thing about Introverted Boss is the middle part. That and the leading actor. The story is about a boss, whom all call a monster who hides from everyone. However, the truth is that he is just introverted and extremely shy, to the point that he can't speak up for himself. So, the girl was simply annoying at the first episodes, always sticking her nose where she shouldn't and creating trouble. Plus, everyone in the drama treated the shy boss like he was a criminal. Basically, the drama bullied it's lead male till he had hit rock bottom. Things picked up when the script changed and we got a better idea about the mystery regarding the death of the secretary. Plus, the relations in the office got better, as the guy started interacting more with his team, and the later started to understand him. And even though the girl's character was improved, the second male lead got seriously unlikable. Unfortunately, the last two episodes were seriously boring, as the mystery was unveiled and the story had nothing more to say. Finally, one of the pros of this drama was that it gave out the vibe of the "Another miss Oh" drama. So, 3.5 out of 10.

Beautiful mind tries to be an in-depth story about a brilliant but antisocial doctor. However, it never gets to really solve the cases it presented. Maybe the fact that it ended too soon (14 episodes when the most of the dramas have 16 in average) didn't help with it. So, was it good? It's good enough. The romance was sweet, though it was quick and short, but I guess it works as the drama manly focuses on the hospital, the illegal activity that takes place there, the doctor and his relationship with his father, and his emotional issues. I think that the illegal cases were too ambitious, as they weren't really got solved satisfyingly. The medical cases were interesting, and the way they were solved was quite entertaining. Also, the story about the doctor was really good, as the character evolves and changes throughout the drama, as well as his relationship with his colleagues. One thing that bothered me was the fact that everyone called the doctor a monster because of his condition. I hoped that it would be like "It's okay, it's love", were they handled the issue very sensitively and introduced the audience to not discriminate people with mental illnesses. However, in beautiful mind, that's not the case. The guy was called a monster till the very end. Finally, the acting was good and that helped with the development of the story. So, 6 out of 10.

This review may contain spoilers
The second movie of the commuting to school series has some of the characters of the first movie in as side stories, but the main story is all fresh and cute. The romance, a classic shool romance between two young students about to become adults, is nicely blended with some growing up and coming of age problems and anxieties, but those do not steal it's thunder. The love story is cute and sweet, though it gets a little cheesy in the end. But still, if you want to feel those butterflies on you belly, this is the movie for you (fair warning, do not expect too original scenario and too much of this movie. It's just a good one to spent your afternoon...)
Have to admit that I've watched this one first and then picked up the first one, so I was a bit confused about the relationships between the characters. So, word of advise, watch the first film first!! Plus, there are some spoilers on what will happen to the couple in the first movie, so this film will probably ruin it for you.
So, 6 out of 10.

Not Good Enough

Japanese Drama '' Living No Matsunaga-san '' is a romantic comedy drama.

The start of the series is smooth and enjoyable, as we get to know the characters and their situation. The dynamics are there and the mood is light and fluff.

But, as the drama progresses, things get a bit on the odd side. The main couple was somehow off, and not just because of their age difference, but due to the fact that he was acting as a father figure and she was way too young to be making important life decisions, hence, that twist in the end was a bit off. Also, the most frustrating part was the ex subplot, that was way too weird, as she was the girl's teacher and the guy's ex, thus, it was bizarre for her to be hyping up the relationship as she did.

Finally, the second couple was cute, but they hardly had any moments together.

As for the performances, they were okay.

So, overall, three out of ten.

Good Enough

Japanese Drama '' Eye Love You '' is a fantasy-office romance with a cute couple, but a messy fantasy story.

First of all, the love story was enjoyable. The couple had chemistry, which aided the drama a lot, and the comical misunderstandings were cute. The second couple was entertaining as well.

The office drama was also nice and the relationship between father and daughter was so sweet!

However, the fantasy element was all over the place. The drama seemed to forget about it for most of the series' length, and then, they tried to add some melodrama to it towards the ending, but they only ended up mishandling the whole affair.

Finally, the performances were great by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama " May I Help You " is a fantasy romantic comedy.

The story has some lightness to it, even though it handles more sensitive matters as well as some emotional cases. Unfortunately, the pacing of the story is all over the place, failing to introduce properly the story in the first episodes and then getting slower and slower towards the ending.

In addition, the main plot was boring. The love story was predictable and the chemistry just okay, which didn't aid to the romance at all. The friendship was nice though.

Finally, the performances were all enjoyable and decent from everyone in the cast.

So, overall, two out of ten.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama "Thirty-Nine" is a drama about three friends and their year while being thirty nine, when tragedy strikes.

The viewer knows right from the start that one of the leads is going to die. A fact that makes the story even more dramatic and bittersweet, as the friends are trying to come to terms with what is about to happen. Their love stories are another part of the story, even though they were the drama's weakest point, as they were cheesy and obvious.

The drama got boring and predictable towards the ending as well. One would have anticipated that the emotional level will keep rising to hit its peak in the end, but the drama just got tiring to watch, with the ending losing its emotional impact due to that.

As for the performances, they were all great as it's expected from a star-packed cast.

So, overall, four out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama "Dali and the cocky prince" is a drama that nails it when it comes to esthetics. Everything was beautiful, from the paintings to the costumes, which were especially tasteful. The performances were great too, with the two main leads delightful to watch, with plenty of funny scenes and a smooth chemistry between them that sparked right from the start.

However, the drama did not offer anything new. Rather, and especially after the first half, things got predictable and boring. The drama used many cliche, and the love triangle was stale and lacked the dynamics that it should have had, considering its setting. The romance had a great pace at first, but it started rushing things after a while. The side characters were enjoyable though.

So, overall, 6 out of 10.

Good Enough

Chinese Drama 'Word of Honor' was interesting at first, quickly, however, changed sides.

The drama starts strong, with the introduction to the world, the mystery in hand, the political powers as well as the characters. The mystery element was pretty intriguing and even the villains seemed twisty and shady. However, after the first part, the drama took a more domestic turn, opting for a slice of life focus, forgetting about the matter in hand, adding a few specs of the characters' past here and there and pretty much letting them play little house on the prairie for a big chank of time. The villains were toned down too, and the main one was simply too tamed to be that horrific bad guy who will keep things interesting. The ending, finally, was rushed, but emotional, especially since the second couple was the main source of entertainment in the second half.

So, overall, 5.5 out of 10.

Good Enough

Korean Drama ' My Roommate is a Gumiho ' has a strong start, but gets tedious after a while. Actually, the only thing that kept things interesting on the second half was the second couple, which was adorable. Other than that, the twists were repeatable, the ending unoriginal and the whole gumiho story boring and wasn't expended enough to have a proper worldbuilt, even though there was a lot of material to work with.

Nevertheless, the first half was pretty great. The comedy was entertaining, the characters cute and likable, they had chemistry and the cohabitation was spot on. Also, another nice point was that the girl's behavior towards the gumiho was kind of realistic, as she didn't play it up and become the hero and oppose everything. Rather, she knew with whom she was dealing with and she knew where she stood until she got to know him enough to be more friendly with him. So, that was a nice touch and refreshing. But, it should be pointed out that even though the leading lady did a great job with her performance, her character was given too many comedy aspects to make her a caricature more often than not. The male lead was also enjoyable, funny, quiet and sweet. The second lead had potential, but the love triangle was a dead end to begin with.

So, overall, five out of ten.
