Korean Mini Series 'Check Out The Event' has a strong start but a weak ending. The beginning of the drama is pretty intense, starting right off with the breakup and then having the main girl being disappointed over and over as her dreams of getting back with her boyfriend, who, by the way, offered no reasonable explanation of why he was so suddenly breaking up with her. The drama played nicely the love triangle card as well, giving the girl a new love interest to support her through those hard times. However, and even though the intensity of emotions was building up smoothly to a boiling point, that explosion didn't happen. The drama opted to drag things up and stretch the big conclusion as to give a more interesting perspective, however, that resulted in destroying the whole story. A nice alternative would have been for the girl to realize that she doesn't need anyone and stay that way. Unfortunately, the drama chooses to take the clicked turn and pretty much vanish any hope the love triangle had to be interesting.
On the other hand, the performances were pretty enjoyable from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, 6.5 out of 10.

Japanese mini series " Himawari: Kenichi Legend " is a quirky comedy and it centres around the relationship of a daughter and her father. The comedy element of the drama is the main genre of the story, and the drama doesn't shy off from being overboard with the costumes even with the settings. However, the performances were smooth by everyone and, thus, it didn't feel awkward or badly handled, even though some scenes were silly. Still, it's a well crafted comedy and brings some laughter.
The romance, on the other hand, was pushed aside and was there to fill in the gaps, which was fortunate, as it wasn't something special to begin with and the father-daughter relationship was far more interesting, intriguing, and entertaining, especially since Kenichi #1 was more quirky than Kenichi #2.
The rest of the characters were only there to support the main relationship and the viewer never gets to know them other than their superficial descriptions.
Finally, the soundtrack was pretty good and fitted the atmosphere of the story. The information about the area where the drama was taking place was another cute factor.
So, overall, seven and a half out of ten.

Chinese Drama " You Are So Sweet " was adorable at first but soon it went downhill. The interesting factor about this drama is that it takes place in the dubbing industry and it gives some insight, while variating the story from the other office dramas. The twist with the hidden celebrity and his fan was also entertaining for a while, even though it was hard to believe that she didn't even think that her boss might be her idol, even after working with him. The second couple was another nice touch. However, the drama quickly got boring and predictable, as they started using cliche scenes and twists. The main couple had plenty of sweet moments, but their chemistry was lukewarm and the big surprise factor with the real identity of the male lead was not handled well and, thus, ended up losing its momentum. The second couple's story was stretched too thin and they had to rush them in the end for them to have a proper ending. The second female lead was too much of the typical villain and she didn't surprise the audience. The rest of the side characters were pushed aside. Another small note here, I must add, is the questionable choices for the leading lady's clothes.
Finally, the performances were pretty good and everyone did great with their characters.
So, overall, four and a half out of ten.

Korean Drama "Move To Heaven" is an emotional drama with lots of shades of sadness, happiness and a big dose of closure. The story starts with a tragedy right off, an event that triggers the rest of the action which mostly hides behind short per episode cases of death and how the main characters help those who had lost someone to move on. Those short stories were different from one another and covered a lot of topics, from parent love to lost lovers. They were beautifully portrayed and fitted in the main story axis well.
As for the main characters' mystery, that unfolded slowly but steadily, being boosted by the smooth pace and the intense background stories. The performances were spot on, simple but emotional, and, overall, enjoyable. The few characters were a good choice also.
So, 9.5 out of 10.

Korean Drama "True Ending" is a drama about finding closure, aka a true ending. For that, this drama was quite original, and the twist in the ending was unpredictable, even though the drama slowly built up towards it. I actually find this channel's drama pretty unique compared to others and, sometimes bold with their main characters, as they don't present them as the perfect ones, but showcase their flaws too. This was the case here as well, even though the beginning presented the main lead as the victim. However, what the drama did need was time. Time to explore the characters more, time to expand the story more and give a more in depth perspective of the side characters, as well as a better explanation of the events. Moreover, a smoother pace at the conclusion would have been ideal, as it was rushed and too easily resolved. But, where things were left was a nice touch.
The performances, finally, were pretty good from everyone in the cast. The flash backs were masterfully handled too.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Korean Drama "Sweet Blood" would probably have more appeal a decade ago, when Twilight was at the top of the pop culture, and vampire stories sprout out from everywhere. Now, they are considered a past trend and a bit cliche, especially if they are not handled with care. And, unfortunately, and although the drama had potential, it didn't ride the wave of strong episodes such as the first ones and blow off towards the ending. The beginning of the drama, first of all, was quite intriguing. The story about the half human, her sassy fiance, the vinery business and the one myth were all pretty interesting. Unfortunately, everything resolved way too easily, which robs the satisfaction of the ending. The romance was weak as well, with just a few moments in the ending to support the whole love story and a one sided puppy love for the rest of the drama. That also ruined the love triangle, as the weak main couple did not support well the antagonistic plotlines.
Another major factor that made the drama look old, in addition, was the make up. White canvases with over the top red lips that screamed 'vampire' from miles were too much and made the drama look like a badly made tv movie, something that, otherwise, was not.
Finally, the performances from the actors and actresses of the cast were all great and the characters quite enjoyable.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Korean Web Drama Be My Boyfriend was an okay, short drama. It wasn't bad per se, but it didn't break the cliches and it just followed a predictable plot. It wasn't original, and that lack of originality was what didn't set this drama apart from the other dramas. The story, first of all, was okay, enjoyable and quite entertaining in the first part. The romance was cute, though the love triangle was questionable. The friendship part was, surprisingly, realistic in a way, as it showed some bad parts of it. As for the ending, it was a happy one, as it was expected.
Finally, the performances were pretty good from every actor and actress in the cast.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Korean Drama "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning" had an explosive start, but halfway through changed route and became a completely different drama.First of all, the main idea of the story is pretty interesting. The sci-fi element was also well managed and didn't lower the quality of the drama. The performances were pretty great as well, and, especially, the action scenes were top-notch.
However, the ending episodes were a completely different drama, with a rom-com family drama twist. That, along with the female lead being an annoying, selfish and arrogant character, along with the miscasting of the male lead, though the actor was excellent performance vice, were the factors that ruined the drama. At least the drama was short and didn't far stretched the story.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Korean Drama " Cheat on me, if you can " had many twists, a slow built mystery and strong characters. Actually, the characters were many, some times way too many, and they all created a puzzle of intriguing events, that, in the end, were presented in an unsatisfying way that even left the ending ambiguous. The themes that the drama dealt with, moreover, were a bit ambiguous themselves. A cheating husband, a wife with murderous intents, a spy, and a pretty carefree student who, in fact, hides dark secrets, are the main characters of the drama and that itself says a lot about what the drama was all about. In fact, those characters were what pushed the story forward more than once and kept the action going. It must be noted here that the first episodes were boring and not that thrilling, but the drama did pick up quickly after them, especially when you get to know the characters and the mystery becomes more than just a murder case that involves the main couple.
Other than that, the performances were really good by everyone and the soundtrack suited the whole story well and it was enjoyable.
So, overall, 6.5 out of 10.

" Crazy Little Thing Called Love " is a pretty good school romance movie. And, even though it's oldish, it feels fresh. The story has its flaws, like the ending and the awkward transition of Nam from the 'ugly' duckling to a pretty girl in a blink of an eye. However, it is fun, with lots of cute moments and some funny parts. The dialogues are clever and entertaining too.
As for the romance, it was adorable, youthful and just right. It had its dramas, but, overall, it was smooth and interesting.
The performances, finally, were all great from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

" Legally, Dad " was a quick, rushed and predictable. The story had authenticity in it, with the random stranger picking up two sisters to be his family. However, it wasn't handled well. The story was predictable and even the twists were overused. The pace was just too fast and it didn't give the characters time to progress their relationship and be properly developed. The ending was almost laughable (sorry...)
Other than that, the performances were okay, and everyone in the cast did a good job with their characters. Even the little girl gave a decent performance.
So, overall, three out of ten.

" Trap " promises to be a thriller following a romantic story that has a darker twist to it. However, that was not the case for this web drama. Honestly, it was just another college mini drama with a girl having problems with her love life. Sure, there was the twist of the stalker, but that was overshadowed by the relationship plotlines. So, the main story was okay, as it explored how a young girl, heartbroken, finds love again and starts trusting people. Meanwhile, she is being stalked by a weird guy, a plotline that the drama chose to use as a game of guessing who's the real culprit. That part was an interesting twist, but it was utilized in only a few episodes.
As for the performances, all actors and actresses did a good job with their performances and the couples had chemistry.
So, overall, 5.5 out of 10.

The good thing about Chip In is its length. Eight episodes were just the perfect amount that the story needed, especially since it started dragging towards the ending.Another plus was the characters. They started as spoiled, annoying, possy ones that were almost too easy to suspect. They did have some twists, not all of them though, and thus their motives and a patern about the mystery were all revealed. In addition, they were all interesting and had the same amount of screentime, especially the main ones.
However, the main mystery case was boring. They did try to add some suspense to it, but the pattern of almost cracking it but then not really solving it, got tiring after a while and the whole thing lost its charm. We didn't get to know the main victim-character that well to care for him and his death, something that didn't aid the case.
Finally, the performances were pretty good from everyone in the cast and the cinematography was perfect for creating the mood of the drama.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

" Sweet Revenge Season Two " was not as good as the first season, but it was okay. The story was pretty much the same as the one in the first season, with an app with which the main character could take revenge on those who pretty much harmed her or her family and friends. The start was really good and strong, with an intense case for revenge and a smooth love triangle. The family drama was also sweet and warm. However, the rest of the revenge cases weren't as strong and were kind of boring. The friendship and family storylines were okay, but not enough to keep everything smooth and interesting till the very ending. The love triangle got boring as well. The actual love story was, in fact, predictable and kind of tiring too. Also, as it happened in the first season, there wasn't a clear explanation as to who was behind the revenge app.
However, there were some nice moments to it. First of all, some acts of revenge were satisfying and well deserved. The performances were good too, especially from the young actors and actresses.
So, overall, five out of ten.

" Thumping Spike season two " is not as good as the first, but it has its moments.First of all, the second lead is very entertaining and makes up for most of the enjoyment of the drama. He also steals the thunder from the main lead, who is pretty cookie-cutter good guy material. The girl is cute at first, but gets way too annoying towards the ending, especially when she kind of double dates both guys. Also, for a 'geeky' girl, she was too toned down. We only get to see her study alond with the male lead for like two episodes. And her wearing glasses does not make her a 'geek'.
Other than that, the drama focused more on the romance than the sports, which was disappointing, but they did add some scenes towards the end with a game of two. The performances were pretty good as well.
So, overall, five out of ten.
