Good Enough
Korean Drama 'Sell Your Haunted House' is a plethora of ghosts and smooth dynamics. The best thing about this drama is the lack of romance. The two did have chemistry and their dynamics were spot on, but they were not romantic ones. The ghost stories were all pretty interesting as well, and were nicely knitted into the main mystery. However, the latter was stretched out a bit too far. Still, the take on the ghost, from their abilities, to their makeup, was a refreshing touch. The exorcist ceremonial characteristics were also a factor that gave originality to the drama.
Finally, the performances were all great, but this needs a special shout-out to Jang Na Ra who proves that she can play rom com leads as well as dynamic, hardcore women.
So, overall, 8 out of 10.

Korean Series SF8 is an ambitious anthology of sci fi stories. Others are better constructed, fitting well into the short length of an hour, others had compelling stories or characters or both, and others didn't do so well. Nevertheless, all of them had interesting themes, great performances and, best of all, beautiful CGI that created the perfect futuristic atmosphere.White Crow didn't start strong enough, as it throws the viewer straight into the midst of drama when the main character's world is crumbling down. However, after she gets into the video game, things get gradually so intense and in the ending was pretty shocking.

The chemistry was not there, the story was not that interesting and the twist of the two meeting in real life was not enough to keep things interesting and thrilling. At least the performances were enjoyable.

The two main actors did also a great job with their action scenes, which were plenty. This one actually blended smoothly many plotlines and elements, without overburdening the main story.

Bittersweet and kind of romantic, the story didn't have the best pacing, but it was interesting and had the perfect mood for it. The two main characters had chemistry as well.

The main problem with the Korean Drama 'Search' is that it took up a lot of themes and storylines and had so little time to develop them. The whole illness-zombie-animal-fy was not well explained, served only as a prompt for the search to start and sometimes it was left out of the story, in order for the latter to focus on the mystery. That said, the mystery case was pretty interesting and the drama had the thriller factor on full mode, which aided a lot. Another plus was the lack of romance, which would have shifted the mood of the drama to another, more cliche, level. Unfortunately, the family drama needed, too, more time to be developed, as did the characters, who were only introduced rushly to be thrown right into the action, thus, preventing the viewer from creating bonds with them, caring for them and actually feel the right emotions in the end.
Nevertheless, the performances, the setting, even the fantasy part, were all great, well performed and executed.
So, overall, 7 out of 10.

Japanese Drama 'Promise Cinderella' is a, surprisingly, enjoyable drama.Even though the prospect of a love story with an age gap that included an underaged partner is offputting for me and I tend to not pick those dramas up, this one kind of makes it works and, in the end, their personalities, chemistry, and story create the perfect environment for the viewer to root for them and for the conclusion to come more naturally. The pace of the love story was another factor working in its favor, as it gave the time for the relationship to grow and develop naturally and not right from the start. However, the love triangle was not that successful, though it gave the opportunity for the girl to open up about who she really is and what she has been through.
Another enjoyable element was the workplace. The setting was brilliant and the small cases were a nice touch to make the main story more than a basic rom com. Unfortunately, that can't be said about the family drama that needed more scenes to be properly presented.
So, overall, 7 out of 10.

Thai Drama 'Oh My Boss' had all the elements to create a swoon-worthy love story, alas, it didn't use them. The main problem is the relationship itself. The girl is a delight to watch, as she is not only entertaining, she also does a great job with her performance. However, her partner was too forceful right from the start and he wanted to look authoritative but failed to do so. His past needed more time to be properly explained, to give the opportunity to the viewers to connect with him better and look at him more as a human than the 'Boss'. Unfortunately, everything was rushly explained. The whole love story was, in fact, based on the principle of a few happy scenes, plenty of crying ones, usually from the girl's side. The side characters, finally, were only there to fill in the gaps and talk to the leads, and they had no other porpuse nor story to back up.
So, overall 3.5 out of 10.

Korean Mini Series 'Blue Birthday' is a nice blend of mystery and time travel fantasy. However, it didn't prevail in other areas. That is, as most of the drama takes place in high school, after the main lead goes back in time to prevent her best friend's death, the whole school romance feeling, as well as the enjoyment of young friendship and, of course, the nostalgia factor, were lacking. And the action and thriller scenes provided by the mystery case did not aid to hide those mistakes well enough and they did end up being missed.
That said, the drama had its good moments. The fantasy element was well done and didn't get confusing. The performances were all top-notch too and enjoyable.
So, overall, 6 out of 10.

Korean Web Drama 'Next Door Witch J' is a short drama with a killer female lead. Actually, the best thing about this drama is the female lead. She is strong, sassy, funny, energetic, and cute. The actress was also great, doing a great job with her performance. She additionally had chemistry with her partner. But, even though the main idea of the drama was okay, the story was rushed and, thus, it wasn't presented as it should. The love story happened in a blink of an eye and the love triangle was not well constructed. The rivalry of the two content creators needed, also, more time to be properly shown.
So, overall, four out of ten.

Japanese Special Mini Series 'Kikazaranai Koi niha Riyuu ga Atte' follows two side characters from the parent story Kikazaru Koi ni wa Riyuu ga Atte. It also adds a new perspective to the events of the main story and some bonus scenes of the main couple. As for the story of this drama, the story is cute and enjoyable, but it was rushed due to the short length. Hence, the twists were speedy and the progress of the relationship not as smooth as it should, even though there was chemistry between the two leads. As for the performances, they were all pretty good from everyone in the cast. The two leads, however, were especially adorable.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Korean Drama 'Doom at your Service' has an intriguing universe that is not properly explored. The romance too had potential but ended up being boring and slow paced. The world built was pretty interesting, first of all. The whole doom-god had plenty to give, especially doom's story and character. Unfortunately, the drama left everything on a superficial level. The romance was pretty great too, with a nice combination of two tragic characters finding salvation through each other, and with an all star cast to boot it all. Sadly, that too, ended up being boring, with many predictable twists and lots of cliches. Also, the female lead's character was annoying at times. The side couple, though interesting at first, was a let down as well.
Finally, the cinematography was on point and the performances from everyone in the cast were great and enjoyable.
So, overall, 6 out of 10.

Chinese Drama " Mysterious Love " is a short action-packed drama, with two well-handled couples. What strikes as a refreshing note right from the start is the female lead. She is not the almost classic naive cutie who gets some dynamic scenes here and there. Rather, she was quite mature and all together, a nice combination as she had to handle a possessive and almost pathological jealous partner. The latter was a soldier material through and through, with a tough exterior and a weakness for his loved ones. As for the second couple, they were both adorable, but the girl was too much when it came to chasing the guy.
The mystery, in addition, was okay, though it was overshadowed by the flashbacks, that should have been better handled, as they ended up being a bit messy. The action scenes were on point though.
Finally, the performances were enjoyable by everyone in the cast, but, especially, the little girl.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

Second Season of the Korean Drama " The Penthouse: War in Life " walks closely to where the first season left things, keeping up with all the factors that made the first one a hit. Frustration is there, feeling for revenge are there, every character goes through major transformations and the whole thing is satisfying and exaggerated. The performances, moreover, were all great from every actor and actress of the cast. The side characters did a great job as well.
Finally, the pace is fast and keeps things on edge, the mystery is intriguing and this season keeps the interest high till the very final episode.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

Chinese Drama "Remember My Boy" did not handle the time jump well. The first episodes built up a momentum that the conclusion of the story did not live up to.But, first things first. The story is based on an interesting idea, however, the cat and dog dynamics lasted for about three episodes. The 'future' timeline was boring and was not handled well. Some episodes of the past timeline were boring too. Overall, the drama used most of the cliche scenes found in school romances and, thus, did not manage to differentiate itself from the rest of the youth dramas. The love story also took too long to have a smooth progress.
Other than that, the performances were nice.
So, overall, three out of ten.
