Not Good Enough

Korean Drama "Live On" had an interesting prompt for the story, but somehow it ended up being boring.

The one thing that, at least for me, was off was the fact that the characters, well, most of them, acted like adults rather than teenagers. They even presented their problems as being adult-like (see the second couple). Another thing was that the drama focused on the mystery that, in the end, was not well handled and didn't create the momentum that it was needed. Thus, the drama left out a lot of the other plot lines that were added here and there, like the family drama of the main characters.

Other than that, the performances were really good from everyone in the cast. The settings and the broadcasting club idea were original, fresh and a nice touch.

So, overall, four out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " Must You Go? " is not very original but it is entertaining. Though it doesn't let the side characters shine and it focuses mainly on the main couple, the drama handles the fantasy-time travel element well and it doesn't get confusing. The past story, actually, was like a cinderella story taking place in Joseon era. The love story was also entertaining, heartbreaking, cute at times and it worked because the couple had chemistry. The love triangle was predictable though. The ending was also predictable and it had been used before and not just once.

Other than that, the performances were great, especially since the cast was mainly consisted of idol actors and actresses, some of them with few dramas under their belt. The soundtrack was nice too.

So, overall, six out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Mini Drama " Mr Heart " is a cute short drama with a light storyline.

The drama uses a lot of the trops found in many romantic comedies, they even used the cold guy-cute guy couple dynamics. However, somehow, all these cliches were not cheesy or cringe-worthy and they actually suited the story well. The use of the sports theme was interesting too, as well as the whole family drama of the lead. However, his partner's story was not that well presented, though that's probably due to the drama's length.

The performances, finally, were all great by everyone in the cast, the couple had chemistry and were adorable and the running scenes were well managed.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " To My Star " is a sweet drama with some deep themes here and there. The factor that makes this drama entertaining is the chemistry between the two leads, and, especially, the two personalities. The two of them were completely different characters, one outgoing, flirty and friendly and the other secretive, closed up and an introverted, and yet somehow they were great together, unlocking each other.

The drama added some other plot lines too, with the celebrity scandal and its conclusion, and the drama between the two friends. The food scenes were brilliant too and a nice touch, as were the bonding moments between the two leads. Another enjoyable note was the connection of this drama with the other mini drama " Where your eyes linger ".

Finally, the performances were great for everyone in the cast.

So, overall, eight and a half out of ten for this short drama.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " Uncanny Counter " is a wonderful blend of action, comedy and family dynamics.

The drama has a perfect atmosphere, almost like a webtoon, with perfect action scenes and a beautiful world built. The drama introduces the universe of the counters slowly and the viewer gets to know it at the same time as the main character. The family dynamics of the small group of the counters were perfect, emotional at times, funny at others. The story is also full of small cases that the counters had to solve, which were interesting and entertaining, while it follows the main 'big' mystery of the case that eventually involves everyone.

The performances were great as well, and everyone had the perfect chemistry with each other. However, the main lead got annoying and tiring to watch when he was struggling to maintain the barrier thing, as it looked a bit fake and overacted. But the rest of his acting was really good. Also, the guys of the 'other side' were overbearing at times.

So, overall, 8.5 out of 10 for this pretty entertaining drama.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama " The Spies who loved me " sounds a bit like the American movie, and has more interesting aspects, but it's messy and doesn't serve the plot well.

The drama juggles two themes: the mysterious case of the leading lady's best friend, and the game of temptation and lies between the two ex spouses and the two current spouses. For the mystery, it was okay, enough thrilling to keep things interesting, and with plenty of action and players. The bromance helped here as well, adding humor to the plot. However, the leading lady turning out to be a super spy was a bit off and sudden. As for the romance, it was odd because of the pacing. The drama went back and forth on whom it supported as the love interest. For once, it made it clear that the leading lady was still not over her ex and that it was possible for them to get back together, when, at the same time, it promoted the current husband as the perfect man for her, a man who loved her more than her ex. And, finally, they did the complete messed up thing of confusing their characters even more with that ending.

Other than that, the performances were great and the action scenes well orchestrated. But, the drama got boring at times, especially towards the ending.

So, overall, 4.5 out of 10.

Not Good Enough

The main problem of the Korean Drama " Cinderella's sister " is the characters. Most of them are annoying and the progress of the story finds them with close to zero character development.

One of the worst is the sister, the 'cinderella', who cries ALL THE TIME! At first, it's unnoticeable and blends in with the rest of the drama. However, especially after the second half, her crying increases and she gets worse and worse. Not to mention that she acts out of character in the final episodes when she discovers something that she didn't know about her family.

The male lead is also one for the books. He not only plays with the two sisters' feelings, acts selfishly and does the most unreasonable things, but also his reasons for doing what he does are not that great, in the end, and do not justify his actions. His romance, thus, with the leading lady was problematic and, most of the time, frustrating.

The rest of them are either annoying or just okay, except for the father, who was probably the only one who was likable. The sister and leading lady was, after her teenage years when she was simply impossible, pretty decent and she was one of the few who acted rationally at times.

As for the story, it's okay, melodramatic and depressing, but with a good family drama. Though, most of it was predictable. In addition, there were episodes that were boring and dragging.

Finally, the soundtrack was really good and the performances great, especially from the leading lady.

So, overall, three out of ten.

Good Enough

Korean Drama " Please Don't Date Him " uses the prompt of the sci fi story well and blends it nicely with the romance.

However, it leaves a lot unsolved and the big mysteries were not as satisfying as they should. Also, the characters tended to act in an annoying way, or, to be more specific, in a frustrating way. In addition, the camera work was shaky.

Now that we got the negative parts of the drama out, let's talk about the positive ones. The romance was pretty sweet, and the couple had chemistry. The two side couples were pretty entertaining too and funny at times. The three girlfriends and their friendship were even more interesting. The drama was also spot on. Finally, the industrial spy case was thrilling at moments.

Also, the performances were all great from everyone in the cast.

So, overall, six and a half out of ten.

Good Enough

Japanese Drama "Kinou Nani Tabeta? " is a slice of life that combines food and romance.

The story moves on a slow tempo, with each episode dealing most of the time with small cases that happen during the daily routine of the couple. The drama includes romance, everyday drama, but, above all, comedy so greatly that this drama can be enjoyed even by those who don't really pick up slice of life dramas.

The comedy, moreover, is to the point, without exaggerating and using realistic situations that enhance the humor in the story. The romance as well as original, realistic, with some sweet moments that appear here and there but not often, exactly like it would have happened for a real couple.

But the real treat here is the performances. The two main leads were excellent, not only as well written characters, but performance-wise as well. The rest of the characters were pretty interesting too.

Moreover, the food scenes were made masterfully and presented in a fun way.

So, overall, 8.5 out of 10.

Good Enough

Korean Drama 'BreakUp Probation A Week' does a great job considering this is a short drama. The story was revealed slowly, with the flashbacks giving small bites of what was the relationship like, a relationship that changes status and atmosphere in every episode. Needless to say that this drama is full of drama. The couple is sweet, though the girl turned a bit annoying in the final episodes. Still, they had chemistry and some romantic moments, enough to present a beautiful love story.

However, even though the performances were to the point and the drama had an interesting story, though not that original, the story left out plenty, like, who was that mysterious X and what was his story, who were the mysterious men in general, what was that afterlife threshold...?

So, overall, six and a half out of ten.

Good Enough

Chinese drama "Hello! My Youth" is a fun, light short drama. There is not much of a story, rather small adventures were presented per episode. The bromance, however, was pretty good, with a nice pace and good chemistry between the two leads.

Overall, the story is funny and enjoyable. The main lead did a great job with his performance and he was quite delightful to watch, without overdoing it with the comedy and the facial expressions. The rest of the actors and actresses gave good performances too, but the main lead was the one supporting the whole story and provoking the comedy element.

Finally, the pace was quick and just right for the length of the drama, the characters were interesting and the mood of the drama perfect for the story.

So, overall, eight out of ten.

Good Enough

Japanese Drama "#Remolove: Futsuu no Koi wa Jado" is a wink towards the new situation created by the pandemic, giving the remote love life a fanky twist. The mood is light, sweet, romantic and funny at times. And even though the love story isn't THAT surprising, the performances are spot on, with just enough exagurations and the facial expressions that the story needed to be fun and enteraining. The way the story was narrated was another interesting and unique factor that aided to the entertainment of the drama a lot.

Now, for the chemistry of the couple, they had plenty and the short lived love triangle was bearable and gave a small intrigue to the whole story. However, the side characters were left with half baked stories, used only when the main plot needed some time to breathe.

So, overall, seven out of ten.

Good Enough

" Tale of the Nine-Tailed " is not the new Goblin. They can't even be compared, though they both kind of present a romance that exceeds the rules of time. Tale of the Nine Tailed has its own charms, its own universe, and its own disadvantages.

First of all, the story, being stipped from the shiny mythology decorations, was pretty simple, pretty predictable and it was dragging a lot. The romance was awkward, mainly due to the rushed development in the present time, and the badly handled reincarnation trop. But, at least the couple had a lot of sweet, romantic moments and they looked good together.

However, it is not an exaggeration to say that the romance was overshadowed by the romance. That is mostly because the second lead was a well-constructed character, with a deep personality, tragic background, and smooth chemistry with the main lead.

As for the mythology aspect, and the villain plotline, the drama did its best to present a creepy mystery, but it didn't succeed all the way. The bad guy was not that intriguing and his story was resolved in a disappointingly easy way.

The performances, moreover, were pretty good. The main lead did great with his action scenes, the second lead proved to me once again why he was my fav in F4, and the female lead was okay, but she really shined as a villain.

Finally, the CGI and costumes were, at times, laughable and ruined the mood and atmosphere more tha once.

So, overall, 6.5 out of 10.

" If My Things are at Your Place We're Not Over " tried to be impressive, thought-provoking and complex, but it didn't succeed to do so.

The story is pretty basic, but it lacked that promised revolution and character growth in the ending. The addition of the product placement made it feel like an advertisement short film, which is unfortunate.

Other than that, the filming method was impressive and the editing well done. The performances were pretty good too, considering that this was a short film and there wasn't room to experiment a lot.

So, overall, 6 out of 10.

" Professional Single " is an adorable drama with a cute couple.

The highlight of it is actually the female lead. Yes she is acting cute from time to time, and yes, sometimes she is in need of help, but, all in all, she was a strong lead, who didn't get whiny and annoying. Her chemistry with the male lead was spot on as well, and they were adorable together. Chemistry was, in fact, the thing that kept things interesting, as pretty much the whole drama was about them dancing around each other and never getting actually together.

As for the second leads, they were fine, male second lead was adorable and the friends were funny and great, but the female second lead... well, she didn't get no for an answer and she tended to be annoying from time to time.

Finally, the performances were good and the pace pretty fast overall.

So, 7 out of 10.
