I've seen most of them, just started Blossoms of Power. They were all fine. None of them have blown me away. I'm still waiting for that moment. I think my favorite Cdrama so far this year is Mystic Nine, and I am really enjoying Pull Strings...those two will be in my top when the year ends for sure. They will at least stick out as memorable. Love Between Lines and The First Jasmine are probably the two that I enjoyed the most on this list.

I understand there were many people who failed her in her life, and that led to her death. The problem I personally have that just because he hasn't been proven to break any laws doesn't mean he also wasn't one of the people who failed her in her life as well. Jim Carrey handled this perfectly after his girlfriend committed suicide and when he was potentially facing a wrongful death lawsuit. He was able to deny the claims, criticize those who were extorting money, and reflect on bad decisions he made as well as saying beautiful things about her. Kim Soo Hyun seems to have forgotten that she even existed, honestly the only thing I have found that he said about her at all is repeated claims he did not date her as a minor lol. THAT is what is bothering me about his response, his agencies response, and his most ardent supporters response. It's like this girls existence didn't matter to any of them. That bothers the hell out of me, and frankly is not a good look for him.

UPDATED : Kim Soo Hyun: What the Evidence Actually Shows as of August 30, 2026I have already gone through this…
Woah the comments blew up, not surprised. I'll push back a little here. Me saying he associated with her as a minor and then dated her is what happened. That's not a proven grooming pattern because it lacks intent, but the optics of that isn't me trying to be clever those are optics HE created with his own choices. I would say saying "They were people in the same entertainment industry who knew each other," really downplays the optics to make him look like he did absolutely nothing wrong. There is a little more to it than that lol. And this entertainment industry they knew each other in has a pretty big tent, he did not have to date someone over 10 years his junior that he knew previously. He made that choice. Even though there is no proof that he broke any laws, that doesn't mean he didn't do anything wrong...those are two separate things. And one thing he did do wrong was he made really bad choices those are a big reason he has landed himself in this mess. He should have never dated her, he should have been more supportive when she was going through her own cancellation as a senior in the field at least. He was under no obligation but it's the decent thing to do. She reached out to HIM for a reason. These are all choices he made. Him taking accountability for at least those and showing humility would go a long way. We all have to remember he wasn't a kid when all of this happened he was a well established actor in his 30s. She, however, was VERY young.

Great comment though on the legality of it all. I agree with you there. I just think it's a little more grey than black and white.

He's completely innocent, you dumbass Knetz.Get a life.
It is very strange. They seem to victimize him and infantilize him in a way. Pretending like he did absolutely nothing to deserve even a side eye, and he seems to be behaving the same way with a very public comeback. I fully concede we will probably never proved anything criminal in this case, and that is probably why some of the evidence was doctored, because try as they might they lacked the smoking gun. But some awareness from his fans, and Kim Soo Hyun would go along way. Whether you can prove a crime or not, someone associating with a minor, and dating her when she was still a teenager when you were in your upper 20s and early 30s, in both instances, is a choice HE made himself, that would cause a side eye from literally anyone. Also...she is dead. I get no crime was proven, but at least have a little humility and quietly come back, at least out of respect of people who will have to eventually work with you. That's just my opinion, the public comeback like I said is mind boggling to me and that response from one of his fans is equally so. I don't get it lol.

I dont think I said my opinion one way or the other, and I'm not Korean....did you respond to the wrong user?

*I'll give an explanation. Whether he's guilty or innocent doesn't matter to my comment. It's clear the public is torn, and having such a public comeback when they are torn like this just makes the backlash worse not only to him, but literally anyone he associates with.

My honest opinion on guilt or innocence we really will never know 100% for sure since people messed with evidence, any doubt takes root quickly. If he is guilty of anything I'm a firm believer of Karma she always gets hers, and that keeps me level headed when talking about these things.

But my comment was more PR related. If that gives you a better idea of where I'm at with this.

I have the same, only want to watch cdramas now
Logically. You made a generalization. I called you out on it, and gave you 3 2026 dramas that proved you wrong, you pretended you watched all three even after saying all Cdramas are the same. You clearly haven't, you came up with a synopsis for Blossoms of Power after probably watching the trailer, didn't even get the right Mystic Nine, and said you watched all of all three when one is still airing. Logically...right. Yeah I'm done with this conversation too...this is not worth my time anymore. ✌️

The Mystic Nine is from 10 years ago. Mystic Nine is from this year. And you can do a deep dive into tomb dramas...there are several.

I'm only 5 episodes in Blossoms of Power, and your synopsis is a bit off...sounds like you only watched the trailer lol. I'm assuming the leads end up together but the other guys...one wants to kill her, and one is obsessed with his dead wife's soul that is inside her body, and one is a creepy stalker. The ML was poisoned as a kid and is dying, but turns into a secret Shadow Daddy at night investigating lol. His comedic gold is pretending to be frail. The soul inside the princess is using all this to inact revenge, and wants to pick a husband that will help her get that revenge which is going to be our dying shadow daddy lol. You're giving a very narrow view of the show when 5 episodes in ALL of this has happened, and it's a 37 episode show....

Pull Strings, they do a goofy comedy costume drama a few times a year. Not that rare. What makes a little unique is they seem to be blending genres, but that is proof that they are evolving which is why I included it, my entire point.

There is also more to Cdramas than costume dramas. The Bad Kids is one of the best Psychological Thrillers I have seen across all drama platforms. Meet Yourself and When I fly towards you are two of the best modern romances I have seen in the last few years. Love Between Lines is also a great modern romance with a very independent lead, that bends genres a bit as well. Three Body is a great scifi that came out a few years ago. I am not trying to gaslight you I just very much disagree lol. I've been watching dramas for awhile, Cdramas in particular for over 20 years.

And for someone who said all Cdramas are the same you watched 3, 2026 dramas? Must be something you still like about them lol. Pull Strings is still airing fyi. And the other two just recently wrapped...you've been busy.

Most of my summer has been Cdramas, and anime. I found a few Kdramas but honestly not that many that hooked me. It's nice to be able to go back and forth though, because they all have slow season.

I'm in the middle of 3 Cdramas Blossoms of Power which is a revenge with a reverse harem dynamic, Mystic Nine an adventure tomb drama, and Pull Strings a fantasy/comedy costume drama. None of these fit your template. In fact I don't think I've watched one like you're talking about since the early to mid 2000s lol, not saying they don't exist now but I'm not seeing them as much as I use to and I'm not all that interested in them so I skip. Yes they seem to hate harem dramas, heavily monitored/censored I think it's do to romanticizing imperial hierarchies. I personally don't get it, I mean it is a fantasy, but it is what it is. But Cdramas have a huge diverse catalog, they always have. You will find repeat templates in any media though.

Title Mystic Nine
I just watched it, that was so brilliant. The writers...wow...top notch.
I wouldn't necessarily call them "wasted" because they were a lot of fun...but yes lol.
