Took about 3 episodes for me to get into this, but yes, it was good set up for what I hope is a satisfying revenge for our FL. Decent production and a lot of great veteran actors in the supporting cast.

Since Si Kuanglan is the male lead here, they may start with book 2 - I feel like that's a natural place to start and introduce all the characters including the monk and the snake demon. They may also mix and match stories, so I don't know. I really liked the story, I forget which book, about the maple tree and the Luoyang arc too.
Puyuan maybe will serve as where the Si family lives. Since they go to Luoyang at some point, so maybe that's where Hengdian comes in. I'm just guessing at this point, lol.
The original novel is not finished (I haven't been able to find all of the the current 5 books online); the author is currently working on the last book (6). From what I have been able to read of the novel and watch of the animated version, there is an understated romance between the two characters. How the drama will adapt the story is anyone's guess at this point.
