Qi Jiu's story is a bit disappointing. His endeavors fall flat for me. Even his failure fell flat. His journey…
I agree. His potentially most interesting section of his life story (how he survived with the General) is not told on screen. So he arrives back as a totally different character than he was at the beginning, and it doesn’t feel quite earned. I simply don’t know if I should root for him or not. Hopefully he demonstrates some usefulness to either the plot or the FL’s character in this second half.
Flourished Peony was more interesting to me (but I didn't really like part 2 In the Name of Blossom). We're only about halfway done with this one, so it's too early to say how the 2nd half of the story will develop.
Does this drama has lots of romance and a good chemistry?? Pls tell I wanna watch it!!
Honestly, not much so far. The story is more focused on FL's story and her family. The ML has his own story, but it's more in the background for now. I don't find much romantic chemistry between the two, but that's me. You'll have to watch it for yourself to see.
i thought they're solving cases but does their case only one and they just going around? I'm on ep8, try to watch…
It’s more of a web of conspiracy that gets more and more complicated the further they dig into it. It also involves the main characters personally, which I think is a smart choice from a writing perspective - makes the stakes higher.
Zhan Zhao is the lead constable of the Kaifeng Court. He absolutely cannot take justice into his own hands. He…
I blame the idol dramas of today - too many nonsensical stories about how things work in ancient China - how just killing off the bad guys would solve everything. Actually, maybe I'm referring to today? The bloodlust and desire for vigilante justice is astounding.
I don't really care about MDL ratings, but 7.7 for this is ridiculous. It's a classic wuxia story, good vs evil, and it's fun. The dialogue is witty, the characters make sense, and it's also a story that makes good use of its long drama format. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
People also saw GJM in Puyuan recently, maybe location scouting?
