All right, bring on the angst, I'm all here for it. Time for our power couple to be tested and (hopefully) come out all the better, stronger for it.

Yep he does certainly embody psycho villain pretty well

I know it's been said ad nauseam, but emperor be cray and a terrible father. Up until now, he was a great gray character, and I wasn't sure what to make of him. After ep 29, I hope he bites the dust real quick and real hard. Doesn't help that whenever I see him, I see Ning Chuan from The Rise of Phoenixes lol.

I believe the leads dub themselves, as are most if not all of the supporting cast. Sometimes it’s live recording and sometimes it’s dubbed, so the sound quality is uneven.

Ep 28: love the juxtaposition of images and sounds at the end of the episode. Sigh, where does the Hua family go from here?

Yeah, they’ve been so good about communicating with each other. But I guess a little angst or drama can also be good for character growth. Just hope if it does take this way, they don’t suddenly become stupid overnight

I’m wondering if there’s more to what happened 10 years ago, and that there may be another bad dude we don’t know about yet. Unfortunately, it’s going to take forever to find out with this airing schedule lol

Yeah, I get that. At least we have the other aunt’s story as a balance

Yeah, she met a horrible end, and I agree, her husband was absolute trash. But her actions were also despicable - some would say unforgivable. All I know is life as a woman in such a time and society was extremely difficult. We have the luxury of watching from our current time/society. Who knows what we would do if put in such a position? I hope I could stay true to my integrity and moral standards.

This drama does a good job in giving most characters some depth/dimensions, so yes, while we can see her side of the story, at the same time, she truly is a spoiled girl and doesn’t care for her family, and you can argue she pushes her mother to her death. Keep watching, that Song family is done for.

Excited to see where the story goes from here. Wonder how the sixth prince and that hooded figure fit into all of this.

Eight episodes in, and I’m enjoying how these characters have dimensions to them. Not the typical catty harem drama type women in the Hua household

I’m only on episode 7, and yeah, there’s too many of them! 😂

Slowly catching up. Lol Furong and his sister are such chaotic siblings
