Just finished eps 15-16. Stopping here for today, I was purposely a bit behind so when it shifts to 1 ep, I can still enjoy 2 eps/day.
I am really enjoying this drama. The vibe and romance is totally my thing, I was craving a romance focus drama and this is satisfying me. I am hooked on both leads and their journey. they make me giggle and smile, then I get angry when Yu Jingxiu appears on screen🤣🤣 we still have a long way before getting rid of this annoying guy ahah

only at ep 8, Ma Na is truly an insufferable brat and a bad person, I hope she gets the ending she deserves.

if we talk about costume dramas, these are some others than Against the current that could air before the end of the year : Wish you all the best, fated master and disciple, Tigers Sniff the Rose (they finished filming this drama in 2026, it's gonna be a joke if it comes before Chasing Dreams). Maybe : Liao Zhai, Blade of vengeance
other dramas : A prophet.
there are also other dramas that finished filming in the first half of 2025 and are not being released either, I didn't add them since they seem even more less prioritize than Chasing Dreams, they probably won't be out this year

Chasing dreams finished filming months before the costume dramas that aired already (The First Jasmine, Blossoms of Power, The Road to Splendor or other dramas rumoured before the end of the year), don’t understand why it’s so long🙁

After reading comments and watching clips, glad that I put this on hold days ago. I had a feeling the ending would be disapointing. Even just looking at the crew list with Lu Haojiji there... his original ending for the Double was FL waiting for ML and ML riding, then Ribirth, Moonlit Reunion...

your comment is not much encouraging me😅 I just feel like I will have a hard time feeling/believing FL likes ML if we have her dating/liking SML for a good part of the drama, like a previous drama this year.
I think for this drama it would be better to binge watch, I think this is what I will do for the remaining episodes after ep 4

In general, I think Blossoms of Power was not the best, but it was fine, decent I guess. ML was my fav character. The romance was not my fav romance since it was more one-sided for a while

true. very few costume drama stood out to me so far this year, many mid or drop. Not much great romance story either. I have some hope for this one, I want some good romance 😌the director gave some good romance dramas before.
I am only at ep 2, but it’s setting the story/characters for now, it doesn’t feel out of place to focus more on the FL for the beginning

it's not the first one though, there is like ''Unknown'' for example. there was another one before that I remember, but it's gone now. Still I am surprised that Youku is airing this drama, it's not the platform I would expect 😅
