Started watching this daily and is up to episode 11. Baek Sung Hyun has better chemistry with this FL than his more recent daily. The FL is the normal perfectionist protagonist with childhood baggage. SFL is the typical “woe is me”antagonist shriller. This daily will have the usual crying, lots of birth secrets, deceit, regrets, redemptive arcs, etc.
It will be an amusing and exasperating 25ish minutes daily drama to consume.

Hahahaha…episode 4 is ridiculously over the top. The tea egg misunderstanding , the greasy vampire, the ML leading the sml away, the bouquet, the bish Elly, etc.
Remind me of the early 2010s when Taiwan does this kind of silly rom-com with a hint of family life. Only and a big only deterrent is the bgm. And you get 2 episodes a week!
Give it a watch!

Come here to say these 3 needs to work together again for S2. Their chemistry is outstanding. So many shipping moments among them.

You and a handful of commenters here has been understanding of what this drama is about and not judging it based on their non-east Asian ideals of how a parent should act. I don’t know why they watch cdrama but want a western version.

I think so too. The hotel was supposed to go to her grandson but after Zhang came and grandma had a talk with ML, she changed her will.

Hahaha I like your take on this. You understand that this drama is for the Chinese audiences. There are so many “violence” comments about the mom or not enough romance. This drama was promoted as a family healing drama between a daughter and mom. They just added Xu Kai asML.

My mom was watching it and didn’t even complain about the mom’s character 🤷🏻‍♀️. I am enjoying this story!

I agree. Coming from an Eastern background, i have seen a lot worse parents like her irl.. This is mild but the drama exaggerated her dramatic character. That is why a lot of people from the western hemisphere disliked her.
Indeed the actress is doing a fine job portraying this kind of mom
